Luke (Mac), I offered up my Rosary today for you & your family and for my son who has been sick. You & your family and all MOG members and their families will remain in my prayers. Saint Luke pray for us. Amen. https://anastpaul.wordpress.com/201...-october-the-feast-of-st-luke-the-evangelist/
Don't usually assist at Mass on Thurs. But made an effort for the feast of St Luke and you Mac. ☺ A church i dont regularly go to Mass Make of it as u will , but it turned out to be a funeral Mass. Small, ~6 family mourners. Assisting, the probably usual number of regulars ~20. Family of Italian descent. The name of the man Frederico. Why i make an exception to my own rule cf MOG forum and write this post to u: the positive i can offer u Mac A reverential NO Mass. A priest who bowled me over with a sermon which underlined the need to pray for Frederico. And just before Communion, the priest took care to clearly enunciate : Only practicing catholics should receive. Truly the 1st time in perhaps the 100+ funeral masses i have assisted at where the priest has made it so clear. And another thing which i have never seen. None of the family group went up to receive. Mac, please add Frederico to those you pray for. As so often said in this forum, there are no coincidences with our God. ☺
Dear Mac, I also offered up my Mass, Holy Communion and prayers this morning (as well as a small sacrifice) for your intentions, through the intercession of St. Luke.
Yes as several people have stated today is the Feast of St. Luke. Saints are especially active on their feast days. Let us implore his help for our dear brother today.
Mac, Saint Luke has not had a quiet moment to himself today. He has heard petitions for you all day long and so out of desperation for a moment's peace, he will make sure you are on the receiving end of God's abundant graces. We send up a boisterous, grateful "thank you and alleluia" for the works that God will shower upon you!
Dear Luke/ Mac You might be a step closer to the perfect love station, dont be afraid as we are all walking in the same direction, just abandon to God and trust deeply in his mercy, dont let ever let go of his hand no matter what. I am praying for you , whish you the best! God bless you always!
Im sure St Luke had no rest at all on the 18th. Though he surely glories more in getting me to heaven than healing me here-below. I saw another specialist today. I will not be seeing anymore now. I have been handed over to Hospice care completely. The specialist has given a time frame. 1-3 months with 3 months not being so likely. So I prepare in earnest for a happy death, and trust my family into the Hands of Divine Providence. Thank you all again for the prayers and support.
Mac, A drawn out process allows loved ones to adjust and express their love. The downside is that JoeJerk has time to plant seeds of regret, doubt, and fear in your heart. May Our Lady who has claimed you as one of her own, cover you with her protection. May you stay close to Jesus in prayer even if it be as dry as the Dust Bowl, and fortify yourself with frequent Holy Communion. St. Michael the Archangel...
Mac, love the moment. God has plans...I wish I knew what plans he had for you and your family. Accept and love the moment. Its easy to write but harder to do. Let the blessings and graces flow. your spiritual friend Brother al
Mac, you wear the suit of armor of our Lord with honor and a true fighter of the faith. May our heavenly mother be at your side comforting you and yours. Thanks for letting us into your life and for your robust debates here on the forum, I am forever grateful.
Prayers and Fastings! Mac, nothing against our friend St. Louis, but it was sweet to see my friend, Therese, pop in at the 2:23 mark, accompanied by the phrase, "Your love and your grace are enough for me!" Safe Under Mary's Mantle!
John 14:1-3 I Am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life 14 Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. 2 In myFather's house are many rooms. If it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. Psalm 1o3 13-14 13 As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him. 14 For he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust. Psalm 116:15 15 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints. Philippians 1:21 21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. Philippians 1:23 23 I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart, and be with Christ, for that is far better. 1 Corinthians 15:51-58 51 Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed. 53 For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality.54 When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory!.” 55 O death, where is your sting?” 56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 58 Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain. Revelation 21:1-4 The New Heaven and the New Earth 21 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. 2 And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. 4He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” Romans 8: 16-21 Future Glory 18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. 19 For creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God. 20 For creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope 21 that creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God.
I pray Our Loving Mother wrap your mantle around Luke and his loved ones. God bless you Luke . I continue to pray for you and your family.
I will accompany Mac in my prayers day & night in his journey home. Heaven is our true home. There is nothing to fear going home for a place has been prepared for all us by our Blessed Lord.
