Thank you so much Joe for letting us know. And thank you for being such a good friend to Luke. I was overcome with tears when I read the news. Still am as I write. Partly I am sad, but partly happy to know he died on a First Saturday that was also a day marking several other Church days of note on the calendar. Also that he got to complete the First Saturday, had Viaticum and also died in the same hour Our Lord did. These are all surely signs to those left behind that he is in the arms of God now, for only God determines the day and hour a person dies a holy death. So thanks again Joe and also an extreme thank you to everyone who has been praying these past few months for Luke. It means a lot. Truly.
Luke has obtained the Sabbatine Privilege! Thank you Dearest Mother Mary for showing us so profoundly your great care and concern for your children. How beautiful and poignant that you should choose this day to bring your Luke home. It demonstrates to all of your children here your holy promise and your maternal protection! Thank you Oh Most Holy Queen and Mother. Truly Our Lady Of Good Success. Pray Dearest Mother for Josie and for Josie and Luke’s children and for all of us still making our pilgrimage home. Amen. The Sabbatine Privilege is based on the Papal Bull issued on March 3, 1322 by Pope John XXII. This Privilege was approved and confirmed by many popes including St. Pius V. It essentially says that those who wear the Scapular and fulfill two other conditions can obtain early liberation from Purgatory, through the special intercession of the Virgin Mary, on the day consecrated to her, Saturday. The other two conditions are: 1) Observe chastity according to one’s state in life and 2) Recite the Little Office of Our Blessed Mother (the Rosary, with permission from a priest, can be substituted for the office). Our Lady revealed to Venerable Dominic of Jesus and Mary: "Although many wear my Scapular, only a few fulfill conditions for the Sabbatine Privilege." We maintain the majority don't know them. It is an act of charity to make the Sabbatine Privilege known to all. A soul from Purgatory was asked by a Sister: "What is the average stay of the souls in Purgatory?" The Poor Soul answered: "From thirty to forty years!" Can you see the importance of making Our Lady's Privilege known!
