Obama, by his bungling and weakness, has only enabled the continuing horror....creating more room for even more visions of expansion of the madness.
Sadly, such scenes are now a standard part of war which has now become 'total'. All sides were guilty of it in World War II. It is particularly difficult to avoid in conflicts where an enemy deliberately embeds itself among the most vulnerable sections of the civilian population. This was dramatically apparent in the news-clip shown during the recent Israeli attack on Gaza which revealed Palestinian terrorists launching rockets outside a busy hospital window. Often, the least lethal method of winning a war is the ruthless deployment of maximum force. Less decisive campaigns tend to become more prolonged with far more death and destruction. This was the primary argument used by the United States when it deployed the nuclear option against Japan. Almost certainly, a less ruthless conventional invasion would have caused multiples of extra deaths. They are terrible choices, ones very hard to justify, but this is what modern war has become. Also, the exact same events are occurring in Mosul, but not a word about them because they do not form part of the narrative. At least, we can console ourselves with the recent reports that the internationally-recognised legal government forces of Syria and their legally-invited Russian allies are on the brink of final victory against the anti-Christian Islamic war-criminals who have waged unmandated war upon the government since the Obama/Clinton junta launched them on this wholly unjustified murderous course.
For once, I agree with you. Obama and the Neocons are directly responsible for this mess. Shortly before Assad magically became Hitler, the West was wining and dining with the Assads: Then, when it became clear that Syria was not going to do the globalist's bidding, Assad became Hitler overnight and the mantra became "Assad must go." The same murderous modus operandi that the Neocons used in Libya, Egypt, and Ukraine were employed in Syria beginning in 2011 with the violent "protests" by terrorist mercenaries in Daraa, Syria. I've followed this situation since 2011 and the West has been arming and supporting terrorist "rebels" from day one - including sworn enemies of the United States like Al-Nusra. Obama, Nuland, McCain, Graham, Clinton and the rest of the Neocon warmongers should be tried under the provisions of the NDAA for supporting sworn enemies of the United States in wartime. The only reason these war criminals are so frustrated with Russia is because had it not been for Russia's actions they would have gotten away with their rotten, demonic plans. Thanks to Russia, they stand exposed for the war criminals that they are.
Thank God Trump has promised to restore relations with Russia, because I don't think Russia can hold off much longer. First they had to endure NATO member Turkey shooting one of their planes down in cold blood and now they have to patiently endure America providing targeting data to terrorists in order to kill Russian nurses. Thank God for Putin's patience because if the roles were reversed the Neocons would have launched the nukes long ago. Putin: Moscow will never accept attitude of intl bodies towards deaths of Russian medics in Syria: Commenting on the recent shelling of a Russian mobile hospital in Aleppo, Syria that killed two Russian medics, President Vladimir Putin said Moscow “will never accept” the absence of reaction from international organizations to the deaths. “It is obvious to everybody that our medics came [to Syria] to resolve humanitarian issues only. They came there not to take part in the military action, but to help people, civilian population in particular,” Putin stressed. Yet according to Russia’s president, Moscow “has seen no assessment of what happened from any international organization.” According to Putin, the absence of international reaction “triggers some thoughts about how objective the coverage of some our partners is on what is happening [in Syria].” Putin added that he is talking about big international structures “that have put our medics who have been killed on one shelf with those who hit their hospital, and did it deliberately, as they knew where it was.” He stressed that such an attitude is “inadmissible” and “we [Russia] will never accept it.” Militants shelled a Russian mobile hospital in western Aleppo earlier this week, killing two paramedics. A chief pediatrician was also severely injured in the attack. Following the attack, RT reached out to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) for comment. In response, the organization said that “all sides to the conflict in Syria are failing in their duties to respect and protect healthcare workers, patients, and hospitals.” Upon hearing about ICRC’s response, Russian Defense Ministry spokesperson Major General Igor Konashenkov reacted with outrage, saying these “cynical comments are not worthy of the high status of the International Committee of the Red Cross” and show “indifference to the murder of Russian doctors in Aleppo.” https://www.rt.com/news/369651-putin-syria-medics-death/
It's been pretty obvious to anyone paying any attention that Obama's best buds were the Muzbros who were the only ones who benefitted by O'Hill's "Arab Spring"......as planned.....and since have "evolved". Besides the recent Trump election; storm cloud between ISIS and Israel; Sisi's intervention against Obama's buds in Egypt was also a gift to those poor people at the time. Nice "signs" for those losing hope!
Indeed. The overthrow of the Brotherhood in Egypt was the real Arab Spring. Tens of millions, peacefully. The biggest ever such uprising, if I'm not mistaken. But almost completely ignored by the Western 'pravda'.
BREAKING: President Barack Obama has ordered a waiver of restrictions on military aid for terrorists (oops, I mean "foreign forces and others in Syria") deeming it “essential to the national security interests” of the US to allow exceptions from provisions in the four-decades-old Arms Export Control Act. https://www.rt.com/usa/369702-obama-waiver-military-aid-syria-forces/ The unrepentant Neocons just doubled down.
I wouldn't believe the Lord's Prayer out of the mouths of Human Rights Watch, a group funded by George Soros.
I find myself disagreeing with Richard on most of his views on apparitions but we share the same position regarding Russia and the Western media. The videos of the press conference present the truth of the Syrian situation from a neutral standpoint. Needless to say, the information provided here is not information reported by the Western media. What I find most telling about the videos is the tiny number of views they have received. And look how few reporters there are at the press conference! Very sad.
I want to update my comments above because I found a video of the press conference that has over a quarter of a million views. But this video shows even more clearly (at the beginning and end) how few reporters attended! Here's the video: UPDATED COMMENT Sorry folks, but the above video is of a different press conference from September! But it illustrates very clearly the lack of interest from western media reporters.
Sad News: Russian Military Plane with 91 on board enroute to Syria disappears from radar; Alexandrov Red Army Choir singers and journalists on board were headed to Syria for New Year's Celebrations. https://www.rt.com/news/371627-russia-military-plane-missing/
Vadim Ananiev, lead singer of the Alexandrov Ensemble, survived by deciding to stay home at the last moment in order to care for his newborn son. Thank God he survived. He has one of the greatest voices in the world. He also was at that memorable performance by the Red Army Choir for Saint John Paul II all those years ago:
Lord have mercy on those who died. One of them was a woman philanthropist who was bringing a supply of aid to Syria. God help the people in Syria. According to one news report, the rebels contaminated the Damascus water supply with diesel. I don't expect CNN to report that.
Can Trump and Putin Avert Cold War II? By Patrick J. Buchanan In retaliation for the hacking of John Podesta and the DNC, Barack Obama expelled 35 Russian diplomats and ordered closure of their country houses on Long Island and Maryland’s Eastern shore. Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov warned that 35 U.S. diplomats would be expelled. But Vladimir Putin stepped in, declined to retaliate at all, and invited the U.S. diplomats in Moscow and their children to the Christmas and New Year’s party at the Kremlin. “A soft answer turneth away wrath, but grievous words stir up anger,” reads Proverbs 15:1. “Great move,” tweeted President-elect Trump, “I always knew he was very smart!” Among our Russophobes, one can almost hear the gnashing of teeth. Clearly, Putin believes the Trump presidency offers Russia the prospect of a better relationship with the United States. He appears to want this, and most Americans seem to want the same. After all, Hillary Clinton, who accused Trump of being “Putin’s puppet,” lost. Is then a Cold War II between Russia and the U.S. avoidable? That question raises several others. Who is more responsible for both great powers having reached this level of animosity and acrimony, 25 years after Ronald Reagan walked arm-in-arm with Mikhail Gorbachev through Red Square? And what are the causes of the emerging Cold War II? Comes the retort: Putin has put nuclear-capable missiles in the Kaliningrad enclave between Poland and Lithuania. True, but who began this escalation? George W. Bush was the one who trashed Richard Nixon’s ABM Treaty and Obama put anti-missile missiles in Poland. After invading Iraq, George W. Bush moved NATO into the Baltic States in violation of a commitment given to Gorbachev by his father to not move NATO into Eastern Europe if the Red Army withdrew. Russia invaded Georgia in 2008, says John McCain. Russia did, after Georgia invaded its breakaway province of South Ossetia and killed Russian peacekeepers. Putin threw the Georgians out, occupied part of Georgia, and then withdrew. Russia, it is said, has supported Syria’s Bashar Assad, bombed U.S.-backed rebels and participated in the Aleppo slaughter. But who started this horrific civil war in Syria? Was it not our Gulf allies, Turkey, and ourselves by backing an insurgency against a regime that had been Russia’s ally for decades and hosts Russia’s only naval base in the Mediterranean? Did we not exercise the same right of assisting a beleaguered ally when we sent 500,000 troops to aid South Vietnam against a Viet Cong insurgency supported by Hanoi, Beijing and Moscow? That’s what allies do. The unanswered question: Why did we support the overthrow of Assad when the likely successor regime would have been Islamist and murderously hostile toward Syria’s Christians? Russia, we are told, committed aggression against Ukraine by invading Crimea. But Russia did not invade Crimea. To secure their Black Sea naval base, Russia executed a bloodless coup, but only after the U.S. backed the overthrow of the pro-Russian elected government in Kiev. Crimea had belonged to Moscow from the time of Catherine the Great in the 18th century, and the Russia-Ukraine relationship dates back to before the Crusades. When did this become a vital interest of the USA? As for Putin’s backing of secessionists in Donetsk and Luhansk, he is standing by kinfolk left behind when his country broke apart. Russians live in many of the 14 former Soviet republics that are now independent nations. Has Putin no right to be concerned about his lost countrymen? Unlike America’s elites, Putin is an ethnonationalist in a time when tribalism is shoving aside transnationalism as the force of the future. Russia, it is said, is supporting right-wing and anti-EU parties. But has not our National Endowment for Democracy backed regime change in the Balkans as well as in former Soviet republics? We appear to be denouncing Putin for what we did first. Moreover, the populist, nationalist, anti-EU and secessionist parties in Europe have arisen on their own and are advancing through free elections. Sovereignty, independence, a restoration of national identity, all appear to be more important to these parties than what they regard as an excessively supervised existence in the soft-dictatorship of the EU. In the Cold War between Communism and capitalism, the single-party dictatorship and the free society, we prevailed. But in the new struggle we are in, the ethnonational state seems ascendant over the multicultural, multiethnic, multiracial, multilingual “universal nation” whose avatar is Barack Obama. Putin does not seek to destroy or conquer us or Europe. He wants Russia, and her interests, and her rights as a great power to be respected. He is not mucking around in our front yard; we are in his. The worst mistake President Trump could make would be to let the Russophobes grab the wheel and steer us into another Cold War that could be as costly as the first, and might not end as peacefully. Reagan’s outstretched hand to Gorbachev worked. Trump has nothing to lose by extending his to Vladimir Putin, and much perhaps to win. http://buchanan.org/blog/can-trump-putin-avert-cold-war-ii-126354
Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov: West possessed by the spirit of Antichrist Well, he didn't exactly say that, but he came pretty close: The foreign policies of Western nations have been driven by ‘messiahship’ and attempts to export their values worldwide, Sergey Lavrov said Tuesday. This approach ultimately led to the Ukrainian crisis, the ‘Arab Spring’ & the refugee crisis. “The export of values continues to sow crises in international relations. This export of values and the demand to adhere only to a European perspective launched the crisis in Ukraine,” Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said. “Exporting democracy led to the so-called ‘Arab Spring’ [and] gave birth to the export of refugees into Europe,” Lavrov said at a press conference on the results of Russian diplomacy in 2016. He also noted that from his point of view, current Western values are not traditional for Europe itself. “If we talk about the Western, European values that we are all constantly reminded of as exemplary, they are not the values that were professed by the ancestors of modern-day Europeans, they are something new, modernized.” “I would describe them as post-Christian values [that] are fundamentally at odds with the values of our country, which we want to keep and pass on,” Lavrov said. He called the attempt to impose these ‘post-Christian values’ on Russia “indecent from the humane point of view,” and “a colossal mistake and unacceptable revaluation of one’s own influence on international relations.” The top Russian diplomat pointed to the West’s attempts to impose democracy on the Middle East and summarized the gruesome outcome, especially regarding the local Christian populations. “After the outbreak of hostilities in the Middle East, the number of Christians in Iraq has decreased four times, in Syria – dramatically more,” he said, adding that this “once again confirms the inhuman character of the ‘liberal values’ for which ‘authoritarian regimes’ are being destroyed.” He also noted that Moscow is highly concerned that the international community is still unable to create a united front against terrorism. “This causes serious concern and regret. Why is this happening? There may be many reasons.” “We see that the problem of forming common ranks to fight terrorism, organized crime, drug trafficking, many other threats, this problem is becoming systemic,” he stated, noting that possible joint efforts in these spheres are hampered by contradictions in the basic principles of foreign policies of partnering states. “These are either pragmatism, [the focus on] well and correctly understood national interests, or messiahship, the desire to spread one’s values around the world, in the form in which they have been developed in this particular group of countries,” Lavrov said, referring to the US, EU, and NATO. He noted that Russia, for its part, is open to cooperation with these partners on pressing global issues, but only in a climate of mutual respect, and without attempts at importing their values into Russia. “We are looking for closer ties with those who are ready to work with us on the basis of mutually beneficial cooperation, respect of one another’s interests and balance of interests,” Lavrov told reporters. Answering questions from reporters, Lavrov noted that Russia hopes cooperation both on settling the Syrian crisis and on fighting terrorism will be more productive with the incoming Trump administration than it has been with Obama. “I hope that our cooperation on the Syrian crisis, as well as on other issues related to the fight against terrorism will be more effective than with the Obama administration.” “It is quite possible to breathe new life into these mechanisms, considering that the new US administration claims it aims to combat terrorism for real,” Lavrov said. He stated that Russia welcomes the decision of the incoming US president to make the fight against terrorism a priority during his time in office. “When we hear that Donald Trump regards combating terrorism the top priority of his foreign policy, of course, we can only welcome this decision, because this is what our US partners have so far lacked.” “We heard Donald Trump and his team say they will approach it differently and avoid double standards instead of using them to pursue goals,” the minister went on to say. He noted, however, that Russia is realistic and cautious when it comes to expectations regarding the new US administration. “We are realists; we follow, of course, the new US administration’s preparation for assuming office. I would not go to the extremes: at the moment there are a lot of forecasts, speculation in the media and in the political science community, some are looking forward to new developments, and some say that nothing will change,” the minister said, adding that the intentions of the new US administration regarding the rest of the world will only be clear after it starts its work. https://www.rt.com/news/373993-lavrov-speech-messianism-values/
McCain And Graham Caught Inciting Ukraine To Attack Russia A video has surfaced online in which warmongers John McCain and Lindsey Graham are caught meeting with the Ukraine military, encouraging them to launch an offensive against Russia and restart hostilities, all the while describing Russia as the “aggressor” that must “pay a heavier price.” Lindsey Graham delivers an incendiary speech in the video, egging on the Ukranian troops to re-start hostilities with Russia. “Your fight is our fight, 2017 will be the year of offense. All of us will go back to Washington and we will push the case against Russia. Enough of a Russian aggression. It is time for them to pay a heavier price.“ (at 1:40 in video below) John McCain was no less provocative: “I believe you will win. I am convinced you will win and we will do everything we can to provide you with what you need to win.” Seems like President Trump was right when he singled these two Senators out as “warmongers looking for ways to start WW3.” Inside Russia reports: In the past few days, renewed heavy fighting has broken out in Ukraine’s Donbass region between government troops (and allied militias, though they are supposed to be nationalized) and the separatists. Naturally both sides claim the other started it, but it does not take a genius to see who has something to gain from renewed hostilities, and who has nothing at all to gain. Russia and Vladimir Putin derive no benefit from an armed conflict on Russia’s border, one which Russia is being blamed and punished for by Europe and the United States. And it was Moscow who forced the separatists to the table at Minsk, just when they had the upper hand on the battlefield following Kiev’s massive defeat in the Debaltsevo Pocket. Now, with the coming to power of Donald Trump as president of the United States, the putschists in Kiev have lost their principal sponsor. Trump has made clear his intention to prioritize relations with Russia – and European statesmen such as leading French presidential candidate François Fillon have begun to echo him. Germany is losing enthusiasm for this headache. The Ukrainian government is about to find itself isolated with no friend either to the East or to the West. Enter the malevolent minions of mischief, US senators John McCain and Lindsey Graham. The dastardly duo made a trip to the Donbass front line just after the new year, where they gave incendiary speeches egging on Ukrainian troops to restart hostilities. We do not know what else McCain and Graham promised Ukraine out of sight of the cameras. But lo and behold, within weeks of this trip, Kiev started a new round of shooting. The only possible motive for this outbreak of hostilities is a desperate attempt to regain the lagging sympathy of the world – a world long tired of Kiev’s crying wolf over “aggression” and looting billions of money intended to boost its economy. It is also another attempt to sabotage any US-Russian reconciliation. John McCain and Lindsey Graham are two men totally bought and paid for by the military-security establishment. They serve the CIA and the Neocon ideologues who want to spread American influence by force and believe in provoking conflict where necessary. And just before Trump’s inauguration McCain confessed he had passed a defamatory “report” filled with salacious fake intel to the FBI, doubtless in hopes of wrecking his own president’s new foreign policy toward Russia. Donald J. Trump is now president of the United States. The president is head of state, and he directs foreign policy. Period. Yes the senate has the right to “advise and consent” on treaties and appointments, under the constitution. But the constitution does not grant congress the right to conduct an independent foreign policy. In fact, under the Logan Act, it is a felony for any US citizen to interfere in US foreign policy without “the authority of the United States.” Here is the full text of the act: § 953. Private correspondence with foreign governments. Any citizen of the United States, wherever he may be, who, without authority of the United States, directly or indirectly commences or carries on any correspondence or intercourse with any foreign government or any officer or agent thereof, with intent to influence the measures or conduct of any foreign government or of any officer or agent thereof, in relation to any disputes or controversies with the United States, or to defeat the measures of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both. This section shall not abridge the right of a citizen to apply himself, or his agent, to any foreign government, or the agents thereof, for redress of any injury which he may have sustained from such government or any of its agents or subjects. In United States v. Curtiss-Wright Export Corp., 299 U.S. 304 (1936), Justice Sutherland, writing for the Court, observed that the authority to represent the country abroad lies entirely with the president: [T]he President alone has the power to speak or listen as a representative of the nation. He makes treaties with the advice and consent of the Senate; but he alone negotiates. Into the field of negotiation the Senate cannot intrude; and Congress itself is powerless to invade it. As Marshall said in his great argument of March 7, 1800, in the House of Representatives, ‘The President is the sole organ of the nation in its external relations, and its sole representative with foreign nations. John McCain and Lindsey Graham do not have the “authority of the United States” to represent the country abroad. They do not have the authority to promise weapons to Ukraine, or to suggest US support for a new offensive. That authority belongs exclusively to the president and his duly appointed officers within the executive branch. (In general, the secretary of state, ambassadors, and members of the foreign service.) There is no indication then-president Barack Obama granted them such authority. And President Donald Trump certainly will not. The Logan Act has often been discussed in cases of politicians abroad appearing to interfere in the president’s foreign policy positions. That said, though the law has been on the books since 1799, there has only ever been one prosecution under the act, and it failed. I say it’s never too late to start. There has been a power change in Washington. Senators McCain and Graham, and all of their allies in the congress and on K Street, better get with the program. Globalism is finished. Neoconservatism is yesterday’s news. Trump and his advisors still believe in American power. But they realize some degree of cooperation with other great powers – principally Russia – is going to be necessary. Evidently, President Trump needs to make an example out of some people for them to get the message. During the campaign, Trump’s supporters chanted about Hillary Clinton, “Lock her up!” That should now be changed to, “Lock them up!” John McCain and Lindsey Graham are morally depraved warmongers. It is high time they be prosecuted for their crimes and put behind bars. http://yournewswire.com/mccain-graham-ukraine-russia/
