Hi everyone,my 15 year old son has health problems recently I brought him to a private gym They are going to work with him to improve his stability etc. They use a method called "earthing "I'm concerned whether this is approved by catholic church. I have just brought him once and need some information please, before I would take him there again Thank you Mary
Pilates or swimming or something would probably be better for balance issues. This looks new agey to me.
I had never heard of it. Judging by the internet search results, it's a new fad. I would be very surprised if the Church has any opinion on it. There are videos about it on Youtube. Here's one of them:

The idea is that being in close, physical contact with the earth heals the body. It definitely feels awesome to go barefoot sometimes, but the spirituality behind this movement definitely feels New Agey. There may be something to it, but again, there's a difference between simply stretching and doing yoga. Might want to sit in on a session and observe and hear what is being done, and said. If he goes at all. If there really are health benefits to walking barefoot, your son can just walk barefoot in the back yard from time to time. Minus a guided, New Agey class.
