Yes, that's a very good video. That is interesting about talking about what day the actual Nativity of Mary falls on.

I like Ralph Martin very much, I value him, I am generally quite fond of his messages. That said, two sources quoted, I cannot quite see how they would support Garabandal.

Firstly, Sr. Faustina, in her diary, speaks about the Three Days of Darkness. This is a widely accepted prophecy, refer to Marie Julie Jahenny et al. There is no doubt in my mind about the validity of the Three Days of Darkness. However, as far as I can see, Sr. Faustina does not mention an 'illumination of conscience'.

Secondly, Edmund Campion is mentioned. Campion was an English martyr. He defended Catholic truth against the errors of the King. Campion was tried for 'high treason'. During his trial, he mentioned that one day people will understand the struggle between the Church and the ambitions of the King better. We can read the exact trial proceedings in "A Complete Collection of State Trials and Proceedings for High Treason and Other Crimes and Misdemeanors from the Earliest Period to the Year 1783". This is available online. Per the context, Campion's quote seems to refer to his trial specifically, not to a global illumination of conscience.

As I gather, Garabandal is not approved by the Holy Catholic Church, is questionable because of the death of Joey Lomangino, contains elements that may perhaps even suggest demonic activity (stealing apples, which is biblically significant; backward walks and other strange occurrences). I think Garabandal and waiting for a warning or an illumination of conscience may be dangerous to the faith.

Then again, perhaps the 'illumination of conscience' and the Three Days of Darkness are the same. In this case, we can indeed only hope that this will come soon and end the Corona-nightmare. Right now is the time to consciously live in, the system wants all vaccinated.

There is just one tiny problem with doubting Garabandal. It was reported by those who were familiar with Saint Padre Pio that he acknowledged Garabandal as a genuine apparition where Our Lady was appearing to the four girls.

It is always worthy to note that the Jews did not recognise Jesus Christ the Redeemer because they had fixed ideas about who and what He would be when He came. And the fascinating thing Roy Schoeman says is that based on the prophesies in the book of Daniel. The Jews were expecting the promise to be fulfilled at that time. This was why the people were asking John the Baptist if he was the promised Messiah, they believed He was about to be revealed at that very time, and everyone was looking out for Him.

We know Saint Peter acknowledged Jesus as the promised Messiah, as did the rest of the Apostles, with Thomas only realising the Truth when Jesus showed him the wounds in His side and His hands and feet after the Resurrection. But the learned and Theologians of his time mostly rejected Him.

If we are prepared for the three days of darkness and or the Illumination of conscience, it is a great insurance that we are ready at all times if the Lord comes to call us home.

the church doesn't work this way. Padre Pio is not the authority given by the Holy Spirit to recognize a particular revelation inside the Church. he has no such authority within the body of Christ. another

Another thing, there is no dogma of infallibility of the Padre Pio. even if Padre Pio believes it and even if it is true, God, through his mysterious plans, wanted it not to be recognized and one of the reasons is that nothing will happen within the time table revealed to the visionaries. they are already dying and a lot of things regarding garabandal have expired.

wake up people of God, acceppt the mercy of God

If you don't believe Saint Padre Pio knew what he was talking about, try telling that to people who went to confession to him, were reminded sins they committed years earlier, but had totally forgotten about, and were committed in countries far away from Italy.

You are unique in being the first believer? I have ever encountered who put Saint Padre Pio down. The rest of your post leaves a bad taste on my mouth too.

As for Garabandal, who are you to say what God wanted. "God, through his mysterious plans, wanted it not to be recognized and one of the reasons is that nothing will happen within the time table revealed to the visionaries." Quoted from your post right after you smacking down Saint Padre Pio.

Agreed. Also, I have recently written to Kanal Pater Pio and asked if he had indeed endorsed Garabandal. Per the response I received, this is doubtful.

No one here in this thread is putting Pater Pio down. Debora's statements are entirely correct in my opinion.
I am also a devotee of Pater Pio. I have a picture of this wonderful Saint in my kitchen, another one right on the outside of my front door for all to see, and I am enrolled in the weekly Padre Pio masses offered by Kanal Pater Pio, which I have subscribed to and which I support with small donations. I have enquired about how to become a spiritual child of Pater Pio, and after having described my specific situation and devotion I was told that I am already a spiritual child of that great Saint and miracle worker.
That said, not even a Saint has the authority to judge apparitions on behalf of the Church. That is the Bishop's authority.
Further, it is doubtful whether Pater Pio had endorsed Garabandal. The authenticity of the relevant letter by Pater Pio is doubtful, I have not seen a copy.
Pater Pio was a model of obedience, even when he was asked to cease public sacraments. Would Pater Pio have overstepped his authority?
Regarding Garabandal, there is a heat in the debate, with often personal attacks and insinuations. This is another sign in my view that it may not be from God.
Having said that, perhaps the Garabandal question is not even that relevant: The prophecies around the Three Days of Darkness by St. Faustina, Anna Maria Taighi and Marie Julie Jahenny, etc., are clear and widely accepted. Perhaps the Three Days of Darkness and the so-called illumination of conscience are the same, in which case the different terminology really doesn't matter.
The problem is the guessing of dates and people perpetually living in the near future, instead of living in the here and now. This is dangerous, I think, especially as the chastisement in the form of the Corona crisis is already on. We are called to fight now, we can't put our hope in some future date based on cryptic and questionable statements.

  11. With respect, I disagree with your opinion. Father Edmund Campion was quoted during his trial for carrying out his priestly duties during the time of persecution as saying, "I pronounced a great day… wherein the terrible Judge should reveal all men’s consciences and try every man of each kind of religion. This is the day of change, this is the Great Day which I threatened, comfortable to the well-being, and terrible to all heretics." —Cobett’s Complete Collection of State Trials, Vol. I, p. 1063
He preached about this event and it actually terrified those in power at the time. That is why they were in a hurry to put him to death. We don't know when it is coming, but it is coming and it will be terrifying to a great many of us.
Revelation 6: 15- 17 15Then the kings of the earth, the nobles, the commanders, the rich, the mighty, and every slave and free man hid in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains. 16And they said to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of the One seated on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb. 17For the great day of Their wrath has come, and who is able to withstand it?”…

The Gospel of Saint Luke 23: 29-31 Look, the days are coming when people will say, ‘Blessed are the barren women, the wombs that never bore, and breasts that never nursed!’ 30At that time ‘ they will say to the mountains, “Fall on us!” and to the hills, “Cover us!”’ 31For if men do these things while the tree is green, what will happen when it is dry?”…

I just wanted to add that I like Julia and her postings and I often find it difficult to convey a message with kindness using my keyboard (instead of being there in person), whilst I believe searching for the truth is so important. One of my fields of interest is prophecy and apparitions (because this was key for my conversion from atheism), and I am keen to distil the truth from falsehood. Of course, I don't have all the wisdom, please don't misunderstand me, I believe it can be worked out, for example on a forum like this, with input from all sides and a good discussion based on charity.

I like this post and I respect your opinion! I also read the quote you gave above, as I recall it was given by Edmund Campion during his interrogation before the Crown's judge where he was eventually sentenced to death. I think the quote has to be read in the context of the interrogation and the court's proceedings, so it refers to Catholicism vs Anglicanism only.
Campion was saying one day people will understand what the true religion is because God will reveal all men's consciences. I cannot understand how this could possibly be used to back up the Garabandal message, it seems so far-fetched. I respect that you see this differently.
Every time I looked into Garabandal, I mainly found the following sources that are supposed to back the Garabandal message: Campion (who actually refers to Anglicanism), Sr. Faustina (who actually refers to the Three Days of Darkness), and Padre Pio (whose support for Garabandal is factually questionable). So I concluded for myself that there is not enough evidence for Garabandal coming from God (not from below), putting aside the fact that it is unapproved which is an even stronger argument in my mind. Perhaps we just have to agree to disagree with kindness. As I said, maybe the Three Days of Darkness and the Illumination of Conscience are the same, which would make the debate almost irrelevant. But I will say again, I find the waiting for alleged dates and gazing at cryptic messages as to when the day might come - dangerous.
