A priest of America has said that one cannot be both Catholic and Democrat. Unfortunately we cannot be on the same page with those that do not want to renounce the world, the flesh and the devil. It simply does not work, as the wheat is being separated from the chaff. You have observed animosity that doesn't come from us, it comes from them. "You are not like us, you are mad", they think about you and your friend. Those who are not willing to face persecution but have an overwhelming desire to be socially acceptable are falling off the true faith now. This unfortunately includes even turning against us in many cases. Yes, it is tragic. I belong to the pray-in-front-of-abortion-clinics crowd. This has now been outlawed and declared a crime in this country. Although I am not lukewarm, as I am being pushed into an open air factual concentration camp for the unvaccinated I fear and tremble and worry that I may not be able to withstand the persecution and fall off like so many.
St Anthony of Egypt told his followers that very thing about "these latter days." He also said that we of the latter days will barely be able to pray an Our Father but--we will be greater than they are because they battle Satan chained whereas we must battle him unchained .
I too worry about this. But I am trusting Our Lady to be there. She has brought me this far. I am more and more convinced that devotion to Our Lady is the narrow path these days. Without her help we would all run aground and be shipwrecked.

Not that I am at all happy about this pandemic nor the communistic like tactics now being employed, I do see one benefit at least to me and my family…. It has no doubt helped us turn our gaze back onto God and His Son. This reminds me of what it must have been like for the Hebrews wandering in the desert for 40 years. There was lots of grumbling and yes at times they went astray - is the golden calf a reminder of today’s golden calf- the vaccine? But in the end, with prodding of Mosses and Aaron but completely because God chose them and loved them, they made it to the Promised Land. The desert refined them and molded them. So, as we are in the desert today, I am grateful in a way because it helps me focus only on God and Christ. My wife and I are praying more than we did before the pandemic. My attitude before was I will pray on my time and in my terms, but now it’s become a way of life- each morning my wife and I open up the briverary and do morning offering. No, we are far from “holy”, but more we need you God- we need to hear your Words in this dessert to survive another day. So, as I said, I’m not happy because of this situation, but I believe wholeheartedly that God has a plan for my and my families and all of us. And since God is love and God is Good all the time, I need to trust. peace and prayers to you all. Prayers for this forum and all its members.

Yesterday I was talking to God about these strange and troubling times, and for a moment I pictured life the way it was a few years ago... You know, I used to ask God all the time, "Why do You let everyone sleep like this? As souls are corrupted and lost, the world just continues on, with its lulling Godless entertainment." I'd look around as I walked through the store or wherever I was, and long to set off a spiritual alarm that would jolt everyone awake. And as I remembered that, I realized, no, I don't want to go back to that. I prefer this. People are waking up--some are having their eyes opened for the first time, and others are having their faith tested and strengthened. And we have only begun. Things will never go back to how they were before. The elite will never be able to control us while we have no clue. We know now. We see them. The battle lines have been drawn and we're forming our ranks. There is and will be great suffering but there always is when powerful change for good is on the horizon. This is an amazing time to be alive and serving God!

One was put into our church in the past few weeks or months and today when I saw it, I wondered if there is a connection with current events?
No. What happened was the development of the technology that would allow someone with a minimum of training (or no training, if they can follow written instructions) to use the simplified defibrillators. And they have been lifesavers, my brother among them. One had been installed in his law office just a couple of months earlier, and they were able toget his heart going again with no problems.
More absolute insanity…… FOIA request asking CDC to provide data on recovered COVID-19 patients who became reinfected and transmitted virus to someone else. Guess how many they found- ZERO, Zilch, Nada! But yet this group still must get vaccinated , show proof, get tested. Well, we knew it was coming, yet I’m still trying to wrap my head around it. As hard as this is( and presumably going to get extremely bad), it will ultimately end well for the faithful…at least spiritually.
