Dean Koontz writes with a very Catholic sensibility very tuned to the clash of good and evil. I will have to read that book. I thought I had read all his novels.
It was originally published under a female pen name but it has since been republished under his name. A word of warning - his earlier writings were very worldly, often grossly immoral. I’m not sure when in his writing career he turned the corner and started consciously including a Catholic sensibility.

The document serves as the Pentagon’s blueprint for planning and preparing for widespread dispersion of influenza and previously unknown diseases. U.S. Northern Command said Wednesday it was directed the Joint Staff Feb. 1 to commence “prudent planning” in their assigned role synchronizing the department’s plans for pandemic flu and disease. “We coordinate with other combatant commands to assess potential impacts in the event of a pandemic and we ensure the U.S. military is poised to respond as required,” said Northern Command in a statement emailed to Military Times. “The military profession fosters a culture of planning, and the fact that we are coordinating planning efforts across the geographical combatant commands is consistent with how we prepare to respond, if directed.” According to the Marine Corps message MARADMIN 082/20, commanders are to review their disease containment plans and take “preparatory and precautionary actions” to protect service members, installations and ships. This includes ensuring that the plans contain procedures for “response, isolation, quarantine, restriction of movement and community based intervention” as well as developing measures to contain and treat those possibly exposed.

Thanks Brian. I actually started reading his books after seeing him interviewed on Raymond Arroyo. I have to skip the violent parts but on balance I have thought of him as a thoroughly Catholic author. He is s convert I believe.

AED, I’ve done a little research. I think it is the same as Thieves Oil, which allegedly protected some thieves during the bubonic plague. I am away from my computer and can’t link. Thieves Oil is available online. It is a natural agent against microorganisms. I used to have some, and must reorder. ETA would probably be able to link to more details. Be careful, though, some sites are New Age. Young Living is, I think.

Can I please ask for prayers for discernment here.? Im thinking of going to live alone for the year, as I work in the healthcare sector and I will be quite possibly caring for sick clients when the virus reaches us here, in NZ. So I want to be able to go home each day, after work, to an empty house where I cannot infect others or be perceived as a threat to the health of others. I have an opportunity to rent a small flat soon as I have been given a heads up that it is coming available, but I feel a little worried that it might be a stretch financially.
