INTRODUCTION


BORN FROM THE HEART of the Church, a Catholic University is located in that course of tradition which may be traced back to the very origin of the University as an institution. It has always been recognized as an incomparable centre of creativity and dissemination of knowledge for the good of humanity. By vocation, the Universitas magistrorum et scholarium is dedicated to research, to teaching and to the education of students who freely associate with their teachers in a common love of knowledge(1). With every other University it shares that gaudium de veritate, so precious to Saint Augustine, which is that joy of searching for, discovering and communicating truth(2) in every field of knowledge. A Catholic University's privileged task is "to unite existentially by intellectual effort two orders of reality that too frequently tend to be placed in opposition as though they were antithetical: the search for truth, and the certainty of already knowing the fount of truth"(3).

4. It is the honour and responsibility of a Catholic University to consecrate itself without reserve to the cause of truth. This is its way of serving at one and the same time both the dignity of man and the good of the Church, which has "an intimate conviction that truth is (its) real ally ... and that knowledge and reason are sure ministers to faith"(7). Without in any way neglecting the acquisition of useful knowledge, a Catholic University is distinguished by its free search for the whole truth about nature, man and God. The present age is in urgent need of this kind of disinterested service, namely of proclaiming the meaning of truth, that fundamental value without which freedom, justice and human dignity are extinguished. By means of a kind of universal humanism a Catholic University is completely dedicated to the research of all aspects of truth in their essential connection with the supreme Truth, who is God. It does this without fear but rather with enthusiasm, dedicating itself to every path of knowledge, aware of being preceded by him who is "the Way, the Truth, and the Life"(8), the Logos, whose Spirit of intelligence and love enables the human person with his or her own intelligence to find the ultimate reality of which he is the source and end and who alone is capable of giving fully that Wisdom without which the future of the world would be in danger.

5. It is in the context of the impartial search for truth that the relationship between faith and reason is brought to light and meaning. The invitation of Saint Augustine, "Intellege ut credas; crede ut intellegas"(9), is relevant to Catholic Universities that are called to explore courageously the riches of Revelation and of nature so that the united endeavour of intelligence and faith will enable people to come to the full measure of their humanity, created in the image and likeness of God, renewed even more marvellously, after sin, in Christ, and called to shine forth in the light of the Spirit.

 

And back to the topic of the Antichrist and the importance of interpreting the Scriptures correctly:

I did not mean to say that formation can not help. However, very few Catholic Universities fit the description you posted. One need not look beyond the confused documents coming from the Vatican to see what an advanced Jesuit education yields these days.

I still believe the end times is about the Church. An antipope uniting with an anti God World Order leader, who will destroy the Church within, and destroy the teachings of Christ in governments and society. And we are witnessing this today. The Jews and Muslims are too busy fighting to understand the true meaning of Revelations. They have been following the wrong leaders for centuries. Many , many, many people down through the years have prophesied the coming of the anti- Christ (including even saints) have forecast the imminent return of the anti Christ and of course ,as we know they all got it wrong. For as Jesus Himself said:

“But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

Why is it such a great big secret so that even the angels cannot know? Well because we are asked to walk by Faith and if we knew the secret of these huge future events it would change the way we act now. Instead of walking by Faith we might act informed by a human wisdom and cunning instead of our steps being informed by the lightsome light of loving Faith. A kind of loving darkness. So that it might be not be said of us at the Judgement

But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to where he was baptizing, he said to them: “You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath?

When things go very badly in the World and the Church we get at once people forecasting the Anti Christ and the End of All things happening imminently; events like the Fall of Rome, the Black Plague, The Protestant Revolt, Great Wars and so on.

Vincent Ferrer returned to Spain after a decade spent preaching of the apocalypse’s imminence. He had come to believe not only that the world would end soon but also that Antichrist had been born in 1403. Preaching to Spanish audiences, the Dominican expanded his proofs of the apocalypse’s imminence, as well as his counterarguments against those who disagreed; at Alcañíz on July 27, 1412, Vincent penned a letter to Benedict XIII that contains the wandering friar’s most systematic elaboration and defense of his apocalyptic views. The letter treats “those things that I have preached throughout the world for a long time, namely, concerning the end of the world and the time of Antichrist” and states that Vincent wrote it because Benedict had bade him to do so.1 The pope may have been wondering about the orthodoxy of Vincent’s apocalypticism, because the Dominican concluded his letter by acknowledging that all the views contained therein were subject to the pope’s “correction and determination.”2 Nonetheless, what had become the core concept of his apocalypticism, namely, Antichrist’s birth in 1403, remained the core concept. How he preached about the apocalypse changed, but the hallmarks of Vincent’s apocalypticism in Spain and beyond were continuity and consistency.

The demon under questioning by the Holy Father claimed that the anti Christ was alive and living in the Holy Land which was of course not true. But many,many, many Catholics bought into it, hook, line and sinker.

He popularity in Brazil is in shambles because of his political opinions that blatantly favor the left, unfortunately esto ends up damaging the image of the Church as an institution in the country.

 

Revelation is about the church and about the battle between God and Satan for the soul of each man, and this includes Satan's strategies to take each individual soul, as well as the adherent of each religion. In the case of the Jews, Satan will try to prevent their conversion because he knows that this glorious event precedes the glorious return of Christ.

 

St Theresa believed in his book. O’Connor believes Antichrist comes before the era of peace.
