The false prophet will not profess that Jesus came in the flesh, so the apostolic creed will probably be the initial target.

 

No, the Antichrist, as I have said, will be an illegitimate Antipope of the Roman Catholic Church.

Who he is, will be anything other than OBVIOUS to those who are deceived. That is precisely why Jesus tells us that "he will deceive even the elect" (Matt 24.24). The "elect" are Roman Catholics. The "elect" will never follow any man in matters of religious doctrine other than a person that they think (incorrectly) is the Pope. That is the essence of the "deception."

All of these silly explanations about teleprompters and being Jewish and an alien are simply nonsense.

The claim that the Antichrist will be a Jew is a figurative description using the allegorical language common in apocalyptic texts. This is the essence of Desmond's error. He interprets texts in a literal way when they should be interpreted figuratively.

The entire story of Jesus's life will be re-played in the end times. But it will be inside\out, like the cartoon character Bizarro, the mirror-image of Christ. The Antichrist, a bishop of the counterfeit Catholic Church, will be born (by episcopal ordination) into the religion of the "New Jews,' the assembly of Counterfeit Catholics. Just as the true Catholics (the faithful remnant) make up the "New Israel," the false Catholics (the harlot) make up the "New Jews." Again, read these descriptions figuratively, like the Church Fathers, not literally like Protestants.

Now let us see about the Antichrist's origin. What I say is not thought out or made up on my own, but in my attentive reading I find it all written down in books. As our authors say, the Antichrist will be born from the Jewish people, that is, from the tribe of Dan, as the Prophet says: "Let Dan be a snake in the wayside, an adder on the path." He will sit in the wayside like a serpent and will be on the path in order to wound those who walk in the paths of justice (Ps. 22:3) and kill them with the poison of his wickedness. He will be born from the union of a mother and father, like other men, not, as some say, from a virgin alone. Still, he will be conceived wholly in sin (Ps. 50:7), will be generated in sin, and will be born in sin (John 9:34). At the very beginning of his conception the devil will enter his mother's womb at the same moment. The devil's power will foster and protect him in his mother's womb and it will always be with him. Just as the Holy Spirit came into the mother of Our Lord Jesus Christ and overshadowed her with his power and filled her with divinity so that she conceived of the Holy Spirit and what was born of her was divine and holy (Luke 1:35), so too the devil will descend into the Antichrist's mother, will completely fill her, completely encompass her, completely master her, completely possess her within and without, so that with the devil's cooperation she will conceive through a man and what will be born from her will be totally wicked, totally evil, totally lost. For this reason that man is called the "Son of Perdition" (2 Thess. 2:3), because he will destroy the human race as far as he can and will himself be destroyed at the last day.

That entire description is figurative, not literal. The "mother" is the "harlot of Babylon," the false Church. Jesus was born of Mary, ever-virgin (who is a figure of the true Church). Antichrist is born of the harlot, prostituted to the world (a figure of the false Church).

I am not saying that the Antichrist has fully-manifested himself yet. There are still two big things he needs to do for people to fully recognize him:

1. Negotiate world peace, an earthly peace (which will come AFTER coming to the apparent brink of nuclear annihilation). He will "miraculously" save the world with his doctrine of human fraternity without reference to God's Commandments.

2. He will fake his death and resurrection (Apocalypse 13:3 and 13:12), after which he will introduce his new teaching. Here is how St. Hildegard von Bingen describes that:

But I will die for you and to your glory, and rise again from death; and so I will deliver my people from Hell, that you may live gloriously with me in my kingdom, as that deceiver [Jesus] pretended He had done before." And he will delude them into thinking they are killing him, and so they will fulfil his commands. Then he will pretend to rise again, and bring out a writing as if for the salvation of souls, which is really a dire curse. And he will give this to people for a sign and commmand them to adore him. And if any person of faith refuses for love of My name, he will kill that person in great suffering and torture. And thus all who see and hear this will be struck with great wonder and doubtful amazement, as My beloved John shows... (Scivias, Book III, Vision 11, 31).​

For so too will he pretend to die, as if to redeem his people by his death, and to raise himself up again to return to life. He will also have an inscription written upon the foreheads of his followers, through which to introduce into the every evil, as too the ancient serpent, after deceiving humankind, kept them captive by stoking them with lust. Through that scripture he will inspire them by magical craft to oppose baptism and the Christian name, so that they will not desire to leave him, and all will style themselves after him, just as Christians are named after Christ. Your master did not set before you correct propositions; he wanted you to be like a spirit that is unbound by the flesh and cannot physically do anything. So know then what you really are! For your first teacher deceived you and didn’t help you in anything. But I inspire you really to learn about yourselves and to know what you are, for I created you, and I am completely in all things. In assigning all his works to another, meanwhile, that one spoke nothing on his own because he couldn’t do anything on his own. But I speak for myself, and I can do all things by myself.”

With these words and others like them, that wretched son of perdition will mislead people, teaching them to live according to the flesh’s fiery appetite and to achieve their flesh’s every want--despite the fact that both the old and the new law encourage humans to chastity in such a way that chastity does not surpass its proper measure.

Much here to think about and examine. You mention Fathers of the Church. Can you cite references so i can find them? The figurative interpretations make sense. Fr Cornelius Lapide eminent scripture scholar from the past says for example that the stars in heaven are the bishops of the Church. The star wormwood that poisons the water is a corrupt priest who introduces false doctrine to poison the pure waters of true doctrine. So your description of the harlot and the "new Jews" makes sense. But it is also true that Our Lord speaks both figuratively and literally. Simultaneously. (I have seen this in my own experience.) The Book of Revelation is both figurative and literal.

 

Yes, I understand that you have a background (maybe advanced degrees?) in literature. If so, you are well-prepared for this. Most others in our age are functional illiterates when it comes to the principles of textual interpretation (called hermeneutics by the Germans). If someone hated English classes because they could never understand how to interpret poetry, then that person should not be trying to interpret Biblical prophecy or private revelation.

What is important to understand is that God uses real historical events and historical personages to reveal the prophecies. Future prophecies are always "veiled" (hidden) in this way. They should NEVER be read in a simplistically-literal way. And one prophesy only provides a piece of the puzzle. All the puzzle pieces must fit together to form a coherent whole. That is what the Apocalypse is. It is a prophetic mosaic (the puzzle completed), using the building blocks found in other prophecies in the Bible. It is a masterpiece, but it's meaning is still "veiled" for this reason (Matt 13:10-15):

The way it works I think is this. At the time of the Great Rebellion in Heaven. Lucifer, the Great Heaven Fell to Earth with a third of the stars, the Fallen Angels to Earth.

Now God's plan is to fill each of the Fallen Seats with the seats of the saved, Which is why they hate us with such a passion. But only that number of the Elect is filled the anti Christ appears leading to Armaggedon, The Final Battle and as St Paul tells us the World consumed by fire and a New Heaven and Earth and the Resurrection and Final Judgement.

But those seats vacated by the demons have to be filled first. This takes time, hence the time line. So really it would seem we are talking of times centuries or even millenia away.

I have great gaps in this area. It will require a lot of reading and prayer. I remember studying Dante and being blown away by the 4 levels by which it can be interpreted. More than one Scholar compared the structure to the Book of Revelation. I realized The Divine Comedy could be a lifetime study but I never had the time. More's the pity. But it did help me appreciate the genius of the man.

I do not believe that the antichrist is purely Jewish but rather that he will claim Davidic ancestry as part of the fulfillment of the prophecies about the Jewish messiah. This is something that neither Bergoglio nor any liberal cardinal can prove, but in any case, Jews and Muslims would never recognize a pope as the redeemer promised in their traditions.
