I know it's not Catholic Coconut oil and this probably should be in Coffee House but take a look at this. WE all know someone with Alzheimer's or a child with Autism. This is astounding, it's the 3rd time I've heard it, that's enough prompting to send it on. hmmm...I can't stand the taste of coconut! And my son is actually allergic to coconut! Darn. So I need an alternative. You know whats interesting here? Ketones...you know what causes a rise in ketones in your blood? A LOW CARB Diet! Like Atkins. When you are on Atkins, you actually use ketone strips to test your urine to see if your body is in "ketosis". The point is that when it is in mild ketosis, it is burning fat instead of carbs. This type of diet is also very good for diabetics as it forces you to not eat simple carbs and therefore your insulin is better regulated and your blood sugar is lower. Exercise also increases the ketones in your blood. I have never heard anyone compare Altheimers to diabetes before though. I have never heard that they think it is the insulin/sugar issue that contributes to it. If that were true, then wouldn't all diabetics show symptoms of Altheimers?
I have a friend in his 80's who was taking care of his dear wife who had Alzheimer. She had gotten to the point of speaking jibberish. He read about Coconut Oil and Amino Acids in Dr. Whiliker (sp?) newsletter. He tried it and at the end of the first week SHE WAS SPEAKING SENTENCES! He told me all about it because my father has Alzheimers. I take the Coconut Oil gel caps. I buy them online. You could google it. We cook with only Coconut oil or Olive oil. I drink raw milk and make my own butter and cheese too.
