Before today we have only gotten a little over a foot (14 inches?) of snow which had melted down to about 2 inches. After January 1st or so we will another 15 inches. In most years we've received 40 inches by the beginning of January. So it will be white but not overwhelming. Our first year north (25 years ago) we had 7 feet by the Solemnity of Mary on January 1st. Definitely the exception.
I'm in Southwestern Ontario Canada since 2016 and this is the first year since we've been here that we had any accumulation of snow before Jan or Feb. It was early this year, in November I think. We call this the 'tropics' Freezing rain today though, but it was melted away by dinnertime
I found it beautiful to see the Divine Mercy image right behind parish Christmas tree... the birth of Our Lord is the beginning of God's Great mercy for each of us.
Catching up here. I hope Christmas so far has been filled with blessings. I'm resting this evening home alone as I am exhausted after all the Christmas prep and hosting. 20 for dinner on Christmas Day and 19 on St Stephen's day. Everybody at my daughter's house this evening so I'm relaxing at home. I think that's the lot of Christmas for mother's. Lots of work and service. Everyone seems to have really enjoyed Christmas and real love and bonding happens in the family and extended family. May the peace of Christ be with you all.
