Yes David , quite a contrast indeed . I realise the more approved Mystics and prophecies are a little on the doom and gloom side also. I dont think any of them end with a ''Thank you'', lol.

I think the contrasting tone is wonderfully perfect! I think of how my wife and how my own mother talked to us as children. There are times when my wife is using a very tough tone with our kids and sternly warning them about doing things around the home, etc. And then thee are times where she us absolutely consoling and encouraging them to keep moving forward and pressing them in a more gentler way. I think this is the sign and way of good mothers. And so, I think it is almost "natural" for Our Blessed Mother to do the same. These apparitions are a mystery in many ways - although Our Lady is in Heaven, to some degree she must be retaining her humanness and therefore who motherhood - I think in all these messages and warnings, she in the most perfect of ways is our Mom- she will use all the "techniques" and tones needed for us to get the message just like our earthly moms have/or still do. What a gift, what a blessing. . Peace.

Hi Mac, I always thought that the messages and story of St. Juan Diego and Our Lady of Guadalupe was one of a very encouraging mom. As you probably know, Juan didn't really want the job given to him by Our Lady. Remember he lived in a land of pagan Aztecs and he had a a very skeptical bishop. I love the dialogue between Juan and Our Lady. I think she very much understood his feelings and concerns much as she did all the people in Mexico at that time and I think by extension all of us throughout all time. In particular, I love what she said here: "Listen, put it into your heart, my youngest and dearest son, that the thing that disturbs you, the thing that afflicts you, is nothing. Do not let your countenance, your heart be disturbed. Do not fear this sickness of your uncle or any other sickness, nor anything that is sharp or hurtful. Am I not here, I, who am your Mother? Are you not under my shadow and protection? Am I not the source of your joy? Are you not in the hollow of my mantle, in the crossing of my arms? Do you need anything more? Let nothing else worry you, disturb you. Do not let your uncle's illness worry you, because he will not die now. That is a good example of contrast , But not really for our time. davidtig, I have come to understand that God's love and justice both come from his mercy. Matthew 24 speaks on the terrible chastisements that are to come, other parts speak of the cross and death of Jesus, while another speak of the Transfiguration (a glimpse of heaven). I think prophecy today does the same thing. There is no victory without the cross and we have all been chosen to live in these times as witnesses to the truth through the darkness. We will need to explain to our family, friends and community what the purification, war, death and geographical changes are all about. Few will have a clue. The Pentecostal's are going to be miffed thinking they were supposed to be lifted up during the time of tribulation, the lukewarm Catholics and apostate Protestants will be clueless and concerned with the loss of their earthly possessions. The atheists will be doing their bidding for Satan and will be doing all they can to wage war on the remnant. In the end the renewal of this world for those who remain will bring about the temporal Kingdom of God on earth where His Divine will shall be done as it is in heaven.

I was more talking about Our Lady's "tone" in some of her messages- that she sometimes encourages and does recognize our human "feelings". And yes, I agree we should like Juan Diego do what is asked of us. Your point on the consecration of Russia is beyond my ability to directly impact. I recognize that so e Catholics believe it has been done and others don't. I will continue to pray on that and I hope that perhaps Pope Francis will clearly do this when he visits Fatima in 2017. But, i think another important part of Our Lady's request at Fatima is in my control and that is the five first Saturdays - today being the day here in my part of the US. Who knows- even if Russia was consecrated, is Our Lady's request really bring fulfilled by people attending the Mass on the first Saturdays and reciting the Rosary? Peace

It is plain to see that communism in Russia has never gone away. Yes, it went under the radar for few decades, while they went to plan B. Now they got developed what they wanted and are about to unleash it upon its neighbors and the world. Yes, the consecration done by JPII in 1984 had an impact and bought us more time, but because it lacked mention specific to Russia it did not bring the era of peace our Lady of Fatima foretold. It is plain to see and only a blind man could think this world is better off then what it was 20 years ago. Pope Benedict made comment that one would be fooled if he thinks the Fatima message has been fulfilled. Head exorcist of the Vatican, Father Amorth, certainly believes it was not done and he organized the 1984 consecration.
Forgive me please. I'm a little tired! But is it true that some here put Medjugorje above the seat of Rome - from that - is it also true that some here believe that Russia was not consecrated to our Beloved Mother? I find these matters troubling. If you are a strong believer in one or both and wish to reason such matters; in a respectful manner - then please send me an email: explaining your genuine reasons for believing in such; so that I may respectfully listen to your side. After Fr Vendittis Homily today at the Fatima World Apostalate in the USA....I wouldn't want to be Fr Grunner meeting Jesus!!!!.... wow, He didn't condem FR Grunner, but those who continue to propagate Russia wasn't consecrated, Its a GRIEVOUS SIN!!!! FR V said to persist in this stupidity....those who persist are at war with Christ..... Fr V is PRO FATIMA and VERY VERY VERY ORTHODOX....
