You are right. I am sick of people who, out of a misguided desire to be liked or to be seen as "nice", think that they can twist the Church's words so that they can avoid the truth.

I am sitting her on Facebook watching fellow Christians fall as we speak.....some who were emphatically against SSM Friday are now softening their stance because of public opposition. Running like cowards with tails between their legs at the first voice of opposition they hear.

This alarms me, that so many are unable or unwilling to stand up for the truth in the face of opposition for long.

We have a long road ahead.

I think we have to differentiate between true forgiveness and the psychholgical process of Repression..of repressing the Truth. We forgive evil but saying evil is not evil forms no part of forgiveness.

This is false and dangerous Spirituality which would attempt to turn us into some form of midless robots. There are quite enough mindless robots in the Church already.

I just read Mark Mallett's latest blog and I can identify with what he is saying about not having enough time to get everything done (lets keep him in our prayers). I too feel like a bird in the spring time hurrying to get my nest in order for the new birth. Then the wind comes up and blows the twigs to pieces before it is ready to nest in. It is sometimes tierding and sometimes it is two steps forward and one back. The recent Gospel reading with Peter sinking in the water when he took his thought off the Lord is so true in our moment. I think this happens when we try to put our trust in ourselves to prepare in lieu of God. Sometimes I think about all the things I am reading the prophets of our times saying and I know I don't have the faith/grace to persevere through it all, but when the time comes, I trust that God will provide. There is so much on my heart that I want to share with family and friends, but most have not entered into the ark, cause they don't see it raining yet. The rain clouds are surely present and yet ears are not open. It won't be long now. The only thing important is our union with God at this moment and into the near future, yet our weak human nature at times rears its ugly head. I think this is why the rosary is so very important in our daily life. It is something we can say/pray that does not require fancy words or hesitation in what to say. Perhaps this is why we have been told that the two things that remain through it all is the rosary and the sign in the heavens.

 

Amazing how far we fallen in the 30 years since Reagan was POTUS. I stumble upon this and think how did we get from a man who praised and prayed to God to one who openly mocked him last week by lighting the nation's house in the rainbow symbol

Remember that God's Provision, more often than not, comes from the hands of humans that He has inspired. So! We must all prepare for what, I presume, most here think is upon us as best we can... Spiritually and Physically. Those of us with the wherewithal should be "Stocking-Up" with those "provisions" for ourselves and those that we trust God will inspire us to help .... those "Provisions" should encompass all that will be needed to weather the Storm ..... food, shelter, defense,... whatever our means and skills and Prayers may direct.

U.S. decision to legalize same-sex "marriages" godless, sinful - Russian Church

Moscow, June 29, Interfax - The Russian Orthodox Church has appealed to all Russian advocates of the American model of governance, asking them to think twice about the consequences of the United States' decision to legalize same-sex "marriages".

"The people who are into 'democracy the American way' and trying to reconcile it with traditional values need to think hard after this decision," the head of the Synodal Department for Church and Society Relations Archpriest Vsevolod Chaplin told Interfax-Religion.

He pointed out to the kind of values that one is "trying to bring along with the U.S. social and political model."

"You might not be told that they want to force you to adopt such a godless and sinful thing as same-sex marriages. Remember: in reality they want to take your right to live according to the faith, take your soul, take your opportunity to build the life of your society and your state according to the eternal and invariable God-given moral laws," the priest said.

He said the thing he was most concerned about in this particular case is that the U.S. government is trying "to impose its anti-natural and post-human view on marriage on other countries."

The Russian Church representative recalled that one of these days U.S. Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy, who spoke on behalf of the majority of judges who made these decisions, said that same-sex couples were seeking to achieve same legal attitudes towards their union as heterosexual ones. The judge also claimed that the nature of marriage consists in the following: two people together can obtain freedoms, in particular, the freedom of expression, privacy and spirituality, regardless of their sexual orientation.

"Such attitude towards marriage is more than surprising. Marriage is not just a legal construct, it is not just a place where one exercises legal rights," the priest said.

He pointed out that "marriage has a certain nature, it is created by God, primarily, not as a legal space for the exercise of rights but a place where man and woman in the union of love give life to children and bring them up."

"Marriage is a constant created by God and laid down in the human nature. And as the Orthodox commentator Sergey Khudiyev rightly put it, trying to change it with a legal decision is the same as trying to change the laws of nature with such a decision," the priest said.
