I just read about this - all mass murders are just incromprehensibike - but to come into a Church where people are praying - evil at play here in a big way. It the oldest Church in this part of the county and very significant for it's link to African-American slave. I pray for these 9 souls who were killed - to be at prayer on a Wednesday night tells me these were people who loved and trusted in The Lord. Eternsl rest grant unto them O Lord. Praying for their families and this city. I'm afraid it will enflame racial tensions. Also let's pray for the murderer - that he not comit any more violence and seek mercy. http://www.cnn.com/2015/06/18/us/charleston-south-carolina-shooting/index.html
I've been watching about it on television. It is so tragic. It seems you are not safe anywhere. I'm praying for the victims and their families and the community.
I pray for all the victims and their families and friends. I also pray that satan and his demonic spirits are blocked from exploiting this horror to create more racial strife and hatred!! GOD SAVE ALL HUMANITY!!!
I watched the preliminary hearing for Dylan Roof and was very, moved indeed that several of the victims familes came forward and forgave the accused. It made me, very, very proud to be a Christian. i was watching Dylan's face carefully to see if any of this hit home. But did not see any sign of hope. He is a very, very hard case indeed, especially for such a young person. But I am going to keep praying. I have a fondness for hard cases having been one myself.
Stop and offer a prayer for the soul of pastor Clementa Pinckney who was killed. He campaigned for Hillary Clinton earlier on the same day in Charleston! Pinckney was a state senator besides being a pastor. He has a voting history for abortion like Hillary does (as a New York senator)! How can it be, a minister?!! https://www.bostonglobe.com/news/na...me-shooting/IwTt7v4DiNtlG9ve01TDyI/story.html I shared the above with a liberal I know, their response, "so, he deserved to die?" And... Reminds me of an in-law I love, her father was in politics and she and her entire family remain staunch Democrats going on their way, supporting pro-abortion legislators.
Very emotional. A powerful display of forgiveness; in unity with our Lord; in the face of hate. I will pray for the victims and the perpetrator. You remind me here of St. Therese.. not a bad comparison. God bless! Excerpt taken from Story of a Soul One Sunday when I was looking at a picture of Our Lord on the Cross, I saw the Blood coming from one of His hands, and I felt terribly sad to think that It was falling to the earth and that no one was rushing forward to catch It. I determined to stay continually at the foot of the Cross and receive It. I knew that I should then have to spread It among other souls. The cry of Jesus on the Cross - 'I am thirsty' - rang continually in my heart and set me burning with a new, intense longing. I wanted to quench the thirst of my Well-Beloved and I myself was consumed with a thirst for souls. I was concerned not with the souls of priests but with those of great sinners which I wanted to snatch from the flames of hell. God showed me he was pleased with these longings of mine. I'd heard of a criminal who had just been condemned to death for some frightful murders. It seemed that he would die without repenting. I was determined at all costs to save him from hell. I used every means I could. I knew that by myself I could do nothing, so I offered God the infinite merits of Our lord and the treasures of the Church. I was quite certain that my prayers would be answered, but to give me courage to go on praying for sinners. I said to God "I am sure you will forgive this wretched Pranzini. I shall believe you have done so even if he does not confess or give any sign of repentance, for I have complete faith in the infinite mercy of Jesus. But I ask just one sign of his repentance to encourage me" This prayer was answered. Daddy never allowed us to read any newspapers, but I thought I was justified in looking at the stories about Pranzini. On the day after his execution I eagerly opened La Croix and I had to rush away to hide my tears at what I read. Pranzini had mounted the scaffold without confessing and was ready to thrust his head beneath the guillotine's blade when he suddenly turned, seized the crucifix offered him by the priest, and thrice kissed the sacred wounds. I had been given my sign, and it was typical of the graces Jesus has given me to make me eager to pray for sinners. It was at the sight of the Precious Blood flowing from the wounds of Jesus that my thirst for souls had been born... -St. Therese Here is another video that demonstrates the power of forgiveness:
I heard Mother Angelica say something really wise and to the point yesterday. She says if someone runs a red light it is not judgemental to say they ran a red light. She commented that in the world today there are not enough people with the courage to say,' You are wrong, you ran a red light' I heard many African American Pastors said they were, 'disappointed ' in President Obama given some of his policies after his election. But it is not a matter of being disappointed or not disappointed it is a case of someone running a red light into hell and dragging millions with him. But who will have the courage to say this? Bless Mother Angelica for her wisdom. ..and wonderful down to Earth way of putting things.
