German prelate breaks rank with Cardinal Marx, insists on fidelity to Rome Munich, Germany, Mar 24, 2015 / 03:32 am (EWTN News/CNA).- A German cardinal has publicly opposed the words of two other German bishops who have suggested that the nation’s Church can form its own policies without direction from Rome.
http://www.ewtnnews.com/catholic-news/World.php?id=11869 .... some quotes... Cardinal Cordes then commented on Cardinal Marx' ecclesiological statements, saying his “theological blurriness makes you wonder,” adding that statements like “we are not a branch of Rome” are more suited “to the counter of a bar.” He charged that the message sent by Cardinal Marx “seems to be the result of an 'obedience that goes ahead', a deeply political strategy which creates 'facts' in order to dominate the process of decision-making and to put pressure on their colleagues.” In contrast, he noted, the Second Vatican Council's dogmatic constitution on divine revelation, Dei verbum, “leaves no doubt that faith in the Catholic Church feeds solely from Sacred Scripture and the Magisterium.” “Independent of this unambiguous direction, it would be paradoxical to ascribe to a small part of the Church, who live in spiritually regrettable but objectively still irregular situation, the function of a source of faith,” Cardinal Cordes noted.

Netanyahu Instructs Congress To Kill More Muslims — by Paul Craig Roberts FRIDAY, MARCH 6, 2015 How Can He Keep a Straight Face? September 2, 2002, a year and a day after the 9/11 attack, Benjamin Netanyahu stood before our congress and said, “There is no question whatsoever that Saddam is seeking and working and advancing toward the development of nuclear weapons — no question whatsoever. Saddam is hell bent upon achieving atomic bomb capabilities as soon as he can. I believe that even free and unfettered inspections will not uncover these portable manufacturing sites of mass destruction “ Representative Dan Burton summarized, “Your statement boils down to one thing, that is, do we react to another attack on America after hundreds of thousands or millions of lives have been lost or do we preempt that kind of action from happening in the first place?” Rachel Maddow says, “Which is what we did. We preempted. We invaded Iraq and none of the things said about Saddam Hussein turned out to be true.” In 2002 congress invited Benjamin Netanyahu to speak as an expert witness, an expert on why the US had to start a preemptive war against Saddam Hussein and Iraq, or, as he explained, it would be the end of the world. That was 2002. Now, in 2015, house republicans invited him back to make a case again about the end of the world. This time though, he sees it coming from Iran. “That deal will not prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons. It would almost guarantee that Iran gets those weapons. Iran could have the means to deliver that nuclear arsenal to the far corners of the earth including every part of the United States. The Middle East would soon be crisscrossed by nuclear trip wires, a region where small skirmishes can trigger big wars, would turn into a nuclear tinder box, would face a much more dangerous Iran. The Middle East littered with nuclear bombs in a count down to a potential nuclear nightmare.”[1] While our congress pledges allegiance to the head of another state, those of us who are less intimidated by AIPAC wonder how he can keep a straight face. He screams bloody murder because Iran could someday get a nuclear weapon while all along knowing Israel built nuclear bombs, has refused to become a party to the Treaty of Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, and has never opened its sites to inspectors. Netanyahu brags that for the first time in history, Israel has the means of defending itself. What he means is that for the first time in history, Israel has the power to annihilate other people. John F. Kennedy said that Israel with a bomb would initiate a nuclear arms race in the Middle East. So, Israel lied to the whole world about it, including the United States,. According to non-Israeli sources, simulated control rooms were built, the entrances to underground levels were bricked up, and pigeon droppings were scattered around some buildings in which the forbidden installations were housed to give the impression that they were not in use.[2] No wonder Netanyahu is panicked. For its whole life, modern Israel has been the bully of its neighborhood. But its hegemony in the Middle East is coming to an end and he knows it. Sooner or later, a hostile nation will “get the bomb.” Then another. Israel pressured our Congress into destroying Iraq. Now, twelve years later, wearing his paranoia like a badge of honor, Netanyahu demands that the US go to war with Iran. And our congress applauded. With a straight face, Netanyahu said, “We need to stop the aggression in the Middle East.” Then, he referred to the goons in Gaza, the lackeys in Lebanon and the revolutionary guards on the Golan Heights as, “clutching Israel with tentacles of terror.” Does he think that anyone with even the intelligence of congress would not recognize Gaza, Lebanon and the Golan Heights as three lands Israel illegally invaded in its program of expansion? It is amazing that he would even mention Gaza. Eight years of siege and three bombardments in six years has left Gaza destitute. Last summer, Israel dropped 800 tons of explosives, including phosphorous cluster bombs on 750 locations, killing 2,100 people, mostly civilians including 500 children. Israel destroyed 18,000 homes in Gaza, leaving 24,000 displaced, deliberately targeted hospitals, schools, and old age nursing homes. When winter came, Netanyahu cut off electricity and blockaded fuel. As he spoke to our congress, children were still sick and without medical care. Some have frozen to death. Yet, Netanyahu portrays Israel as the victim, and he does it with a straight face. Palestinians are the occupied. Israel is the occupier. An occupier does not defend itself against an occupied population. The occupier controls the power structure. The occupier is the dominant force militarily and economically. The occupier determines what goes in and what comes out of the territories it occupies. Even under international law, an occupier must provide security for the people it occupies. Yet, we consistently hear about Israel’s need to ensure its security.[3] Netanyahu said that we must, “stop Iran’s conquest, subjugation and terror.” And he said it with a straight face. Then he adds, “if Iran wants to be treated like a normal country, then let it act like a normal country.” Was he looking in a mirror? Under Netanyahu’s leadership, the Israeli government has ramped up illegal settlement buildings, increasing the population of Jewish settlers by over 23%, made the biggest land grab in a generation, committed countless human rights abuses and killed thousands of citizens in the West Bank and Gaza, and done everything possible to maintain the status quo of Israeli occupation and domination.[4] It’s time for those of us who yearn for a peaceful world to say with a straight face to Netanyahu and Israel, “If Israel wants to be treated like a normal country, then let it act like a normal country.” Thomas Are March 6, 2015 [1] Both of these quotes, 2002 and 2015 are a matter of public record. On the one hand, he appeals to Jews all over the world, especially Europe, saying come to Israel, it is the only place on the globe where a Jew can be safe. Then, he turns around and addresses our US congress declaring that Israel and all its citizens are on the verge of being wiped off the face of the earth by Iran. For two decades now, Netanyahu has declared Iran about one year from getting “the bomb,” which will immediately be dropped on Israel. So, is Israel a safe place or not? Even Bibi can’t have it both ways.

CrewDog, last time I prayed outside of a clinic was last Good Friday (ashamed I don't do it more often) but the language that was hurled at us was unconscionable and I did feel a bit threatened. More so I'm a big guy so I felt like the little old ladies who stand out there week after week probably need some men with them. This past anniversary of Roe v. Wade I stood with my wife and kids outside our church during a silent prayer vigil and more vile language hurled at us from some passing cars (but plenty of thumbs up and honks and waves as well), and they could see there were a lot of little kids with us. I pray that God shows these folks who have been seduced by evil what the Truth is about the murder of these children and that this storm sweeps hearts and minds clean so we never again permit these atrocities.
I got arrested over 25 years ago, participating in an anti-abortion rally at an abortion clinic in Iowa City. There were probably 200 or so who walked a half mile in prayer, some carrying signs, to a building the University of Iowa had where abortions were performed. Upon arriving we were greeted by the most vile pro-abortion group of about 50. They yelled, swore and foamed at the mouth as the pro-life group walk around a circle drive in front of the clinic. Some of us decided to sit/stand in front of the door while the others walked in prayer. Cop's showed up in a few buses and arrested about 30-40 of us for blocking the entrance of the clinic. They took us to a remote place and got all our names etc... A few weeks later, they had the first group of the arrested appear in court. They and all the rest of us were acquitted from the charge of blocking the entrance, because those in the clinic had locked the doors before we arrived, so the judge deemed that we could not block an entrance that was already locked up by the staff. It was a real eye opener to see the evilness of those who supported abortion.
55 million murdered just in the USA since 1973 .... probably at least that many in Europe and China with their one child policy ... countless millions!!! No wonder the Pro-Death Crowd are so vile ..... It's probably satan's greatest "success" story GOD FORGIVE US!!!
It is interesting to note, Johnathan Cahn makes quite a convincing argument in his book "The mystery of the Shmetah", that the decline of America began in 1973, with the legalisation of abortion.
Torrentum, are those long-read books? Thought about getting them, but I don't have 20 hours of time to read a book at this time.
Fatima, I'm not a fan of long books either. I read the "Mystery of the Shemitah"in six hours. I think its because I was so insanely interested in the book, that I literally just could not put it down.
Torrentum, do you think what you read in Mystery of the Shemitah is likely to happen this year. I have not read it but Cahn seems like quite a credible character.
"Good questions outrank easy answers" - Paul Samuelson. That's quite a question you pose Indy! I'll give you my honest response: His credibility seems to be without question. It's rare a Protestant would have the attention of Catholics the way Cahn does. He specifically (and bravely) mentions September. I've no reason to doubt him. I'm waiting it out and taking a "wait and see" approach. His language lines up incredibly close to Mallet and Johnson. ("Great shaking")
Not trying to sell his book for him, but on this Amazon link for it there are a ton of good reviews and hundreds of comments to the reviews that detail how credible folks who have read it think it is. I think it's very credible. I have to check myself when I see him described as a Protestant above as I thought he was Jewish (he was a Rabbi, right?): http://www.amazon.com/The-Mystery-Shemitah-000-Year-Old-Americas/dp/1629981931
Indeed FP, I was confused too. My understanding is that he's a Messianic Jew, having accepted Christ as the Messiah after a period of atheism, having been reared Jewish. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jonathan_Cahn
Saudis begin airstrikes against Houthi rebels in Yemen http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/storie...ME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT&CTIME=2015-03-25-19-49-42 WASHINGTON (AP) -- Saudi Arabia began airstrikes Wednesday against Houthi rebel positions in Yemen, vowing that the Sunni kingdom will do "anything necessary" to protect its neighbor from Iran-backed Shiite rebels. The airstrikes campaign was announced at the Saudi embassy in Washington by Ambassador Adel al-Jubeir in a rare news conference In a statement published by the Saudi Press Agency, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar and Bahrain said they would answer a request from Yemeni President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi "to protect Yemen and his dear people from the aggression of the Houthi militias which were and are still a tool in the hands of foreign powers that don't stop meddling with the security and stability of brotherly Yemen
Johnatan cahn bases like most Fundamentalist Evangelical Christains his end time scenario on Isaiah chapters 9-10.Some of the youtube clips of him are with groups that are anti Catholic .He is interesting but Catholic reviewers question some of his findings.....like ALL things be wise as serpants and docile as a lamb. Heres one Catholic review of the Harbinger Are the Prophecies in The Harbinger Book for Real? One of our readers wrote to ask our opinion about a book by Jonathan Cahn entitled, The Harbinger, and if it’s okay for a Catholic to read it. My answer to this question is yes – if you do so with the understanding that what you’re reading is fiction and does not contain the ancient secret prophecy about the U.S. that the author claims is in the Bible. Let me explain. The book in question, entitled The Harbinger: The Ancient Mystery that Holds the Secret of America’s Future, was written by Jonathan Cahn, senior pastor and messianic rabbi of the Jerusalem Center/Beth Israel in Wayne, New Jersey. Cahn states at the beginning of the book that “What you are about to read is presented in the form of a story, but what is contained within the story is real.” He does a masterful job of making everything point to the conclusion he wants to draw – that God has allowed him to discover the hidden prophecy about America’s future. “Nothing could be further from the truth,” writes Dr. Gary E. Gilley of Southern View Chapel. “And, even more importantly, once someone decides they can cherry-pick verses at will, change the meaning of these texts to fit his theories and use random hermeneutical methods, anything can be “proven.” He gives an excellent bottom line to the controversy over Cahn’s book. “The Harbinger is a semi-interesting novel that exposes the pride and sinfulness of America and God’s disdain for such rebelliousness. But the novel does not in reality discover a mysterious Old Testament prophecy about America. Read as fiction with an important point, the book has value. Charlie said on his blog, "Do not prepare for crash: prepare to give succor and endure." What fabulous advice! I have absolute confidence that the Holy Spirit will lead each of us to do whatever needful, practical things are necessary. Our job is to gird our loins and open our hearts to the final touches of spiritual preparation we need to man our posts well. I got a really powerful lesson on this Monday. I decided to do something that seemed like a good, prudent thing to do, and suddenly I felt horrible. It took me a minute to realize that I had lost peace. When you are accustomed to living in the peace of Jesus that the world cannot give, it's absence is startling and wretched. (Think of how many are living like this day after day!) I made a course correction, and the peace came back immediately. It seems I had stuck one little pinky toe outside of the will of God, and He let me know it on the double-quick! That experience was such a comfort to me, and gives me confidence that all people of good will seeking God in this hour will be directed properly.
