A powerful voice

We are seeing the emergence and convergence of powerful prophetic voices warning us of what is happening in our midst and what is to come with the break down of civil society through the coming impact of economic collapse, war and natural disasters. It is a time of preparation for us believers. We are called to trust and live in Divine Providence now. Be attached to nothing of material value only the things of God. For if these voices are true they are warning of impending collapse like never before. The foundations are built on sand. The moral collapse we see all around is connected to the coming storm.

Yes, I agree it is time for immediate preparation. While the main messages are around the spiritual perpetration, I also am hearing a call to some physical preperation in these messages - arranging meeting places, etc. I can only think now of having sacramentals at hand. I'm not sure what else there is to do in terms of physical preperation?

I very much like Charlie Johnston. I mean he seems like a wonderful down-to-Earth person and very Holy too. What a wonderful discovery. But I cannot find any descriptions of his meeting the angels? I mean detailed descriptions. and what they have been saying..has anyone a link?

As the saying goes, there are no coincidence. There is just too much convergence now of events, more visionaries and locutions. A real speeding of time and urgency is just so palpable to me right now. Maybe if John or Mark still occasion to visit MOG they would connect with Charlie and if he has time could share more details with us?

In any event, my wife and I talked at great length about what is happening and have decided to "double down" on prayer life and make sure our children, especially the older one do the same. I'm still at a loss about what physical preparations can or even should be made. Praying for discernment here.

You know Padraig, I've also thought a lot about this MOG site and now wonder if it's "real" purpose is at hand. I'm not sure if we will have internet access in future, but while we do, this site I think is perhaps a "virtual" place of refuge to help us all prepare. I know you have head some of this back and have even mentioned seeking some confirmation from one or more of these prophets. Please let us know, if you can, when you can reveal more.

As for physical preparation - here's what I suggest:

    1. Ask in prayer what preparations are required of you. If you have been prayerful over the last year or two, I can't imagine you haven't been inspired to prepare for your own situation.
    2. Check out these valuable instructions:

    http://www.artofmanliness.com/2012/...need-to-know-to-survive-a-grid-down-disaster/
    http://www.artofmanliness.com/2011/...ur-72-hour-emergency-evacuation-survival-kit/

I've been inspired to systematically prepare over the past two years. (Since I am not an organized person, only the Holy Spirit could have accomplished this in me!) My mission is to stay put and welcome everyone the Lord sends to me. I have only made two major purchases, each for around $100: a berkey water filter (http://www.berkeydirect.com/berkeydirect.com) and a rocket stove (http://ecozoomstove.com/collections/products). The berkey water filter is used by missionaries and workers in 3rd world countries - you can purify even standing water, or swimming pool water. You can get anything from a small water bottle to a big system. The rocket stove uses just a few twigs or charcoal, and makes very little smoke.

If you've not been inspired to physical preparation, it may be that you will be "bugging out" of your current location. In that case, you will need a "bug out" bag.

Most important: Rebuke fear! Pray for the perfect love that casts out fear. If you are consecrated to the Blessed Mother, you are already in the protection of the ark of her immaculate heart.

I echo how much of a find Charlie Johnson is. Why didn't MOG spot the article in 2008. :);)
A quote from the article found by miker:

The end of the world? Not. Speaking at a ceremony at which he blessed figures of the infant Jesus for Rome Nativity cribs, Pope Benedict XVI said there had been "alarmism" about the end of the world since the days of St. Paul, who in his Letter to the Philippians had told early Christians to rejoice because "The Lord is at hand" (Philippians 4:4-5). This had been wrongly taken to mean the imminent approach of the Last Judgment. "The closing days of 2008 may be marked by floods, terrorism, and global financial collapse," noted a newspaper Monday, "but Pope Benedict XVI has assured believers 'that the end of the world is not nigh.'"

The pontiff commented that "already at that time [during the writing to the Philippians], the Church, illuminated by the Holy Spirit, increasingly understood that the 'closeness' of God is not a question of space and time, but a question of love: love draws near!" We take that under advisement.

    But unusual times?

Few would doubt that we are in highly unusual times. The prophetic pulse has long indicated the end of an era (and an error: the mistake of modernism). That feeling is universal among conservative Catholics and "Bible Christians." "I barely recognize this world, from the one that I grew up in," writes a correspondent from Texas, where, God-willing, we look forward toward a February retreat. "It seems that the time of the harvest is fast approaching. That 'quickening' sense is undeniable. It is in this time, in the waning hours of our Time of Grace, that we can most strengthen our souls in humility."

    What do others say?

There is the same feeling that we are approaching a high-point event (or series of events).

"As always happens at the time of my stage of sleep, when I am not quite asleep, but about to fall asleep, and am awake enough to know I am not asleep, last evening I heard the words spoken to my soul: 'A great chastisement will come upon all of mankind,'" said another viewer. "I stayed awake and said the Divine Mercy Chaplet.

"Sometime during the night I dreamt that I was in a room with a man that I did not know. He was a worker of some sort; he wore a hard-hat. He said, 'It's about a minute away.' And I knew he was talking about a destruction of some sort. I woke up and realized that it was not a minute away as we know a minute, but soon. I feel the urgency to stock up on items and pray, pray, pray. A prayer was given to me at Adoration: Merciful Jesus, turn back the Hand of Your Father's wrath. Have mercy on people wherever destruction may come. Bring forth souls to God that they may not suffer despair. Amen."

We feel no sense of panic. Preparation? It is always good, in all seasons, to be prepared. We decided to check in with a man named Charlie Johnston, whose alleged prophecies we recounted years ago.

Charlie, who was once from Belleville, Illinois (where he was active as campaign director for senate candidates, and also a radio host for WKRS, a station based in Waukegan) and now lives in Alabama (we ask prayers for sufferings he endures), claims to have had apparitions of angels since the 1960s as well as the Blessed Mother (and, less frequently, the Lord).

Back when we last spoke to him, he was talking about coming events as a "Great Storm." He now believes we are entering it.

It started before Charlie was a Catholic, when he was a boy of eight, says Johnston, and at first, it was locutions. His parents were anti-Catholic. As a boy, says Johnston, who has also worked as a salesman, God "talked" to him. You can discern with us.

"It was sometime around eight that I realized people who heard voices were kind of strange," he says. "It was Gabriel most often. My parents were fundamentalists and my great-grandfather was a snake-handling preacher in Alabama. You may know that fundamentalists are big on baptizing, but the first time my parents took me to be baptized, the car broke down and we didn't get there. The second time they got into a big argument, so we didn't get there. And there never was a third time because they simply forgot. It slipped their minds until I was the age where I had to consent to the fundamentalist baptism -- and I did not consent. Fundamentalism didn't do it for me."

"Understand, I was hidden for a long time," he adds. "My relatives [not his parents, but others] would get me alone and put their shaky hands on my head and start yelling and crying to cast the demon out of me and that was very scary for a little boy, but I could feel the Father come and protect me and keep me still. Over time I tried to find what was true. Fundamentalists are death on Catholics. The Blessed Mother didn't show up in the early years, and when I came into the Church [in 1991] the one thing I was choking on was the Hail Mary because it called her the 'Mother of God.' Protestants don't have quite the sense of mystery that Catholics do."

    At first it was locutions.

God purportedly "talked" to him. Later there were the visions. He was shown a path through a woods of thick brambles that was to be one course his life would take if he chose. It was a path of sacrifice, sorrow, and some sufferings -- but a path that would help save souls.

He was also shown the prophecy about the "storm." Through the years it turned out to be an ongoing vision about a world "gone mad," says this Catholic convert -- a world where evil looks good and good is looked upon as evil. There had also been a peculiar vision in the mid-1960s in which a woman was hiding him because people were putting knives to children. "That didn't make sense to me until I realized the implications of abortions, which came later," Johnston recounts. "Abortion is a satanic sacrament."

It seemed like such a dramatic change, such a transformation of society -- of the world -- says the former radio newsman -- that he didn't think it could occur in his lifetime.

But as a result, he was instructed, there would be a great storm coming -- and it involved death, destruction, and sorrow in many forms.

"I wanted desperately to prevent that," he says. "In 1993 there [was the first of] three great visions," he told us. "I call them 'great' visions because they went the greatest length in instructing me as to what is coming."

I think maybe we are meant to find things when we are meant to find them. We could step on a gold mine and not know it is there, but when we are meant to find it.

I prayerfully feel just at the moments that the real key lies in rereading the messages from Garabandal . There is so much happening in the world at the moment, Russia getting set it seems to attack the Ukraine, Jerusalem a mess, Syria a blood bath, Iraq falling in large parts to people who appear to be spawns of Satan and Islamic atrocities all over the place.

It is as if the world has suddenly caught fire....and now these prophecies....well, as mike says, pray, pray ,pray.

But yes I think I will find out what I am looking for by going back to the old wine, Garabandal. It must be there...

In terms of preparing, I offer this for your consideration. I rarely remember my dreams, mabye once every few months and all normal stuff tied to whatever happened to me recently. Last night I had a vivid dream about being in trouble and trying to escape, and I was in a long line at the airport trying to get out with everyone else and got to a counter to exchange my dollars for Thai Bahts. No big deal, I was in Thailand a few months ago, seems normal enough. But that exchange didn't work and the lady behind the ticket counter gave me my money back but I didn't notice that she had given me Swiss Francs in exchange and when I went to the next counter to exchange them for dollars, they wouldn't give me my dollars back and made me keep the Swiss Francs which wound up being worth a lot more money than what I started with and my problem was solved.

I get on Facebook when waking up this morning and one of the first things I read is from a teacher at my kid's Catholic school. The nicest and most holy teacher there, great guy. By the way, he was the last person I saw before going to bed last night, besides my family. I was leaving church after playing basketball with my fellow old guys at church as we do every Sunday night and I noticed this teacher who was leaving his Sunday night scout meeting and he was getting in his car. He posts this morning on FB that he had a vivid dream and wanted help interpreting it, it was fully of strange happenings but centered around his having to exchange his US Dollars for Confederate money to get his son out of jail.

I have never dreamed about exchanging money much less often remembering my dreams, yet this vivid one had a common theme with this teacher, who was the last person I saw last night as both of us left church.

the next post I saw on FB was from a protestant friend who just recently has begun to post scripture and he posts this:
    Romans 12:6-8 NIV

"We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach . . . "

I then click off FB and the first article I read from today's news is this:
    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/...-Lehman-crisis-from-worldwide-debt-surge.html

The urgency in the rapid succession of what happened there strikes me as wanting to take those as signs I need to call my broker and get out of everything and go cash, but I'll need to pray about that.

There are times I am glad I am poor as a Church mouse without a penny to my name. I can't loose anything as I have nothing to loose. But I would agree a collapsing economy has to be a big part of it.

I also think Western Societies are not ready to take things as they did in the 1930's. Back then people tended to trust Government and have a sense of community. Also technology makes things a lot more fragile.

I look at the young too. They have so much more in many ways than I had when their age. Spiritually we were a lot richer but materially poorer. I really wonder if they have the inner stamina to take some kind of Crash. I don't think they have, to be honest.

A powerful quote from the spirit daily article from Mr. Johnston:

He adds: "For now, the most important thing to let your readers know is that their only security is to stay close to the Eucharist and to Our Lady. It is good to watch the signs of the time, but if they get caught up in a mania for the supernatural, they will miss the little whisper from God that is the only thing that is vital for their security. Trust me, if God speaks to you in the thunder, you won't miss it. And if people knew more about what it is and what price it entails, they would be significantly less eager to experience it. And it is only important to particular missions -- not to the individual's salvation. If the individual who hears the thunder is distracted from the little whispers from God each day, he, too, is in grave danger of losing his own salvation."

I think you're right. Just losing their technology will make them howl at the moon. When everything comes crashing down, expect panic in the streets. it will be vital to batten down the hatches and stay home if possible, especially for the first 2 weeks or so.

For what it's worth, I have a feeling that the window of time for preparation, at least in the U.S., will close with the blood moon on Oct. 8, 2014.

More from Charlie re: my own (charity) frustration with discerning dreams or information from above:
"People constantly ask me for more or new information on what is coming and when it is coming. I know it is frustrating. I have lived that for many decades – often asking God why He would not just tell me more things plainly. I learned the reason He often does not speak plainly is because He is not interested in giving us information that would allow us to deceive ourselves with one of our many clumsy battle plans, thinking if we just knew what was coming and when, we could prepare for it. We cannot…the fact is, even at our best, we are largely incompetent dunderheads. Rather, He seeks to inculcate in us a mindset – a real abandonment to Him and trust in Him. Under the best of circumstances, things are often going to look hopeless and our best-laid plans are going to explode in our faces. We cling to the idea that if we only knew, then we could handle it. It is, in many ways, the last deception preventing us from truly being useful instruments in the Lord’s hands. So while I understand the frustration because I lived it for decades, I have very little curiosity about any details God does not tell me anymore – for I know that knowing specifics will not do me any good. I will still screw it up – and am far more likely to if I trust to my own competence."

  18. Charity

    Charity Mercy

    Continued:
"I constantly tell people to, acknowledging God, take the next right step and be a sign of hope to those around them. People ask how to know they are taking the next, right step. It is easy. Just acknowledge God and do the most right thing you can think of. Act. You will screw up a lot, but so long as you acknowledge God, He will draw fruit even from your errors. When you cease to acknowledge Him, even your seeming triumphs will turn to ashes. So you can act with complete confidence, even knowing that you are not competent and will screw many things up. Think of a child that takes on a project too big for him and asks your help. You help him and correct his errors, even as you take pride in his initiative. Your child is still not competent to do it on his own. If he tried, it would be disaster – but he trusts you to guide him and correct the many mistakes he makes. Do you think God is any less of a loving Father? God wants your initiative. When you acknowledge Him, He will baptize your incompetent efforts with abundant fruit. But you must both act and acknowledge Him. Do not wait for certain knowledge. Choose the most right thing you can think of, then act. Trust God, not yourself. But He wants you to act, not to cower like the man who buried his talent and told the master he was too scared to risk it."

I was struck by this from Charlie's 6/14/14 entry:

Some even seem to look forward to full crash with an unseemly eagerness. I suspect some think those other bastards are going to get it while they will be safely protected in a little cocoon of righteousness. But, as the fifth chapter of Matthew notes, God sends the rain to fall on the just and the unjust. This Storm will come the same way. The unjust will wail and complain while the just will take the next right step and be a sign of hope. I wonder how many who wail and complain will be those who eagerly awaited the Storm to crush others. I do not tell anyone they will live and prosper through the Storm. If you gird your loins, it cannot be in expectation that you will be exempt from the terror that comes. Rather, it must be with the unwavering resolution that you will take the next right step and be a sign of hope until death comes. If you think you will be exempt, you have a terrible surprise coming. If you determine to be faithful until death, you have the right mindset to be useful in the reclamation. So please, do not think your faith, however abundant, will provide you with a get-out-of-jail free card from the temporal suffering that has begun and will soon be mortal.

Safe in the Refuge of the Immaculate Heart!
