Right on John...there is so much suppression of the truth by western media outlets. Its like looking at Las Vegas with all the flashing lights and glitter...it looks all good... but when you look beyond the storefront to the inside...it a gutted mess. I've never seen so many people hanging out on the corners of streets begging for money. I can't get out of my car anywhere without some one running up for a hand out. It getting ludicrous speed. I think we've gone plaid!!!

So here is a scenerio that prophecy indicates will play out very soon. The colapse of global economics, socieities and governments will take place. Wars, tyranny, and persecution of Christians will begin to esculate including fines and jail time for not bowing to governement immoral mandates. The great apostasy within the Church will be manifested within the clergy in a clear split from Church teachings (Our Lady of Akita). I think all these things could manifest itself in months from now, perhaps before the end of 2014. At this point those living in grave sin will be in great confusion, as they have no clue what will be unleashed upon them. Then at some point during the tribulation, as the Garabandal message fortells, (could go on for a few years) "when things are at there worst" will come the Warning. Then comes a brief 'pause' and refuges begin to encamp those who are being called to harbors under our Lady's mantle before the great global chastisements begin.

That's the way I'm reading it too Fatima...admittedly...we simply may have our times lines askew a bit...but generally this is how I see it playing out also.

What is coming is the result of obstinate human sin.

Man has made a society in his own fallen image. Greed, lust, despair, pride rules. The weak are trampled upon and the widow despised, very few seek the Lord on their knees. Many do not know the God of Mercy. And this is the time of mercy. A time to convert and a time to get to know God.

But in the coming purification and chastisement they will be brought to their knees and will cry out to the God they do not know but it will be too late and they will lament in despair because of the darkness of their souls. Woe to those who do not seek God in this time of mercy.

I have sensed recently that humanity is in great peril. Man has ensnared himself in sin and evil so the time of Justice may soon be upon us. We are living the book of Revelation and time is Short!

And a conversation between Lucy and Jacinta...

    THE SIGN IN THE NIGHT.

' Listen Lucy,' continued Jacinta, 'I am going soon to heaven ,[so I have nothing to fear from coming chastisements] But you , when you see in the night that light which the Blessed Virgin mentioned , take REFUGE also above'

'But do you not see' replied Lucy, ' that one cannot seek refuge like that in heaven?...'

'That is true.... But still do not be afraid In Heaven I will pray very much for you and for the Holy Father.

Listen to St Francis or ...not...

The first story stars Saint Francis of Assisi. A traveling pilgrim saw Saint Francis working in his garden, hoeing a row of beans. The traveler, a spiritual seeker, asked the saint, “What would you be doing right now if you knew this was the last day of your earthly life?”

Saint Francis replied, “I would continue hoeing this row of beans.” And he proceeded to do just that.

This story aptly exemplifies a basic spiritual practice principle: that you should always be where you are and do what you’re doing. Don’t live in the future, don’t dwell in the past. The kingdom of God is at hand—in a row of beans, the pile of office work, the baby in need of changing, the neighbor in need of a ride to a doctor’s appointment. Don’t go looking for some magic moment or special event to signal that real life or holiness has begun.

Mac, our Lord and our Blessed Mother make very clear that anyone who is called to a physical refuge will have first made a refuge with them in their hearts. The big difference between St. Francis' time or at the Fatima seers , Lucia and Jacinta, is they were not dealing with the end of times then, they were not dealing with Satan unleashed, they were not dealing with the great apostasy and they were not dealing with a world that wanted to literally kill them.

If you do not understand this, perhaps a refresher from St. Pope John Paul the Great's prophecy will remind you of what we are facing:We are now standing in the face of the greatest historical confrontation humanity has ever experienced. I do not think that the wide circle of the American Society, or the whole wide circle of the Christian Community realize this fully. We are now facing the final confrontation between the Church and the anti-church, between the gospel and the anti-gospel, between Christ and the antichrist. The confrontation lies within the plans of Divine Providence. It is, therefore, in God’s Plan, and it must be a trial which the Church must take up, and face courageously…”

That's fine if you want to hoe beans Mac hoe away.

But God is actually calling some people out of the world to live in community with other Catholic Christians in order to rear their children away from the influence of the secular world. You might find that hard to believe but it is happening and has been happening for years.

  10. Magdalen

    Magdalen Ave Maria!

I was thinking the same thing! Has everyone made their consecration to Our Lady? If not, you can start in July and make your consecration on the Solemnity of the Assumption. The 33 Days can be done via St. Louis deMontfort's formula or with the 33 Days to Morning Glory.

The important thing is to also, first of all, be sure to rid our lives of any mortal sin. Daily prayer is necessary! Our Lady asks us to pray the rosary daily and so we must. And there is regular confession, at least monthly. As we are able to, attending the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass more than just on Sunday, daily if possible. And making at least a weekly holy hour as not only do we need that one-on-one time with the Lord in His Real Presence but we need to be making atonement and reparation for ourselves and others and also to console that most Sacred Heart.

When these things are in place in our lives, we need not worry overmuch about the future. We keep our eyes on Jesus! And we have Our Lady's help to do it.

So many things--dizzying in their amount--in the world and even in the Church but if we can keep our focus, we will have peace in our souls. As St. Pio said, "Pray, Hope, and don't worry!"

I'm kind of puzzled by the "either/or" thinking on refuges. Of course our Blessed Mother's immaculate heart is our refuge, the ark of the new covenant, and the ultimate place of safety. That doesn't mean there won't be physical refuges as well, or that those who are led to prepare them are motivated by fear.

When the persecution reaches fever pitch, I believe some of us will be called to flee to refuges, but we will all be called to BECOME refuges for our brothers and sisters, even if it's while sitting in jail, waiting to be martyred!

How could we possibly decide now that we will not go to a refuge at a later date? None of us knows what the future holds for us individually.

When St. Joseph was told in a dream, "Get up, take the child and his mother and flee to Egypt," I'm so grateful he obeyed!!! Of course, if he had resisted, I'm guessing he would have had an angel fight on his hands. ;)

Whats a refuge? . My home is a refuge. For my family. What approved prophecy speaks of this in the last few hundred years?

I said what I believe, based on currently unapproved prophecy and what I'm hearing for myself in prayer.

I know you have no faith in the prophets of our day. As far as approved prophecy, take a stroll through the Old Testament - those approved prophets have a lot to say about how God will protect His people during chastisements.

From a practical point of view, has there ever been a persecution of the people of God when they did not flee to refuges??????

A wise priest once told me, "I'll die for my faith, but they'll have to catch me first!"

Its not about the Beans or hoeing,Garabandal,
' Don’t go looking for some magic moment or special event to signal that real life or holiness has begun.'
This is what is important, And we certainly do not require someone handing special titles to forum members telling them' They have been chosen' to be a 'Warrior of Our Lady.' Whatever that is. This makes me sick.

thank you John, for posting what you believe you have received in prayer. Something for all of us to discern. I used to scoff at the idea of refuges or our guardian angels leading us in a very literal way, but over the years as I have prayed and we've had these discussions on the forum, I have come to believe that what we are about to face will be so extraordinary, God will also do the extraordinary for his flock. We will always have refuge under our lady's mantle (where I do believe consecration to her plays a role in this), but some of us may very well find themselves being led quite physically by our guardian angels to a place of refuge. I can remember pondering once, what if I have to flee with my mom, where will I go? she can't walk very far and I for some reason see us in the woods on foot tryng to escape something and I was worried about where to go. I was immediately given a vision of a male figure coming to us to give us direction and I knew we were to just follow him. I don't know where we were going to be directed, but I know we were safe with this person, who I believe was my guardian angel.

I have just been placed by God in a new place to live, and will be moving there shortly. I believe this is the place I will be living when events begin. I believe I will be safe there but will eventually have to flee. that is what I feel in my heart. Yes, we are about to experience incomprehensible events that are beyond our imagination...but what God will do to help us is beyond our comprehension too. That is my feeling anyway. And my motto will be the one of the priest Kathy mentions..."I'll die for my faith, but they will have to catch me first!"

I googled your question, Mac. Mark Mallet quotes the Cathechism of the Catholic Church. which seems as authoritative as you can get:

Before Christ’s second coming the Church must pass through a final trial that will shake the faith of many believers… The Church will enter the glory of the kingdom only through this final Passover, when she will follow her Lord in his death and Resurrection.Catechism of the Catholic Church, 675, 677

He also quotes an Early Church Father, again authoritative:

Early Church Father, Caecilius Firmianus Lactantius (250-317 A.D), foresaw with great precision what this future period would look like… when the faithful would eventually flee to sacred refuges:

That will be the time in which righteousness shall be cast out, and innocence be hated; in which the wicked shall prey upon the good as enemies; neither law, nor order, nor military discipline shall be preserved… all things shall be confounded and mixed together against right, and against the laws of nature . Thus the earth shall be laid waste, as though by one common robbery. When these things shall so happen, then the righteous and the followers of truth shall separate themselves from the wicked, and flee into solitudes. —Lactantius, The Divine Institutes, Book VII, Ch. 17

    Also Archbishop Fulton Sheen;

The world is rapidly being divided into two camps, the comradeship of anti-Christ and the brotherhood of Christ. The lines between these two are being drawn. How long the battle will be we know not; whether swords will have to be unsheathed we know not; whether blood will have to be shed we know not; whether it will be an armed conflict we know not. But in a conflict between truth and darkness, truth cannot lose. —Bishop Fulton John Sheen, D.D. (1895-1979)

He again quote Pope Saint John Paul 2

These communities are a sign of vitality within the Church, an instrument of formation and evangelization, and a solid starting point for a new society based on a ‘civilization of love’… They are thus cause for great hope for the life of the Church. —JOHN PAUL II, The Mission of the Redeemer, n. 51

Make yourselves builders of communities in which, after the example of the first community, the Word lives and acts —JOHN PAULl II, Address to Focolare Movement, Rome, May 3, 1986

I can well understand you not believing in the Refuges, Mac. That is entirely your perogative. I dare say most Catholics would not believe and that's fine too.

What I do not understand is the immediate dismissive and scornful attitude towards both the idea and those who promote it.

Why is this? I suspect it has pushed some button inside you? What is it , Fear? Anxiety? What? For emotions like this stem not from the head from the heart.
I can understand as I mentioned people dismissing the idea, but not even to leave open the door to the chance that maybe..? This seems irrational.

Pope Francis said recently that more Christians are dying for their Faith than at any time since the Catacombs. Do you not think the Catholics in Syria and Iraq and Nigeria are looking for somewhere to flee too? Do you not think God will lead as least some of them to places of Refuge? He has even suggested he himself might well be martyred.

Could it not be said that these prophesies are being realised even as I wrote..and you read?

Pope Francis has condemned persecution against Christians in a revealing interview with Spanish 'La Vanguardia' magazine, in which he also addressed fundamentalism, poverty and his own legacy.

"What I would like to be clear on is one thing, I am convinced that the persecution against Christians today is stronger than in the first centuries of the Church," the Pontiff declared according to an article published last week.

"Today there are more Christian martyrs than in that period. And, it's not because of fantasy, it's because of the numbers."

He added: "The persecuted Christians are a concern that touches me very deeply as a pastor...In some places it is prohibited to have a Bible or teach the catechism or wear a cross."

In light of this statement, Francis branded religious violence a "contradiction".

"Violence in the name of God does not correspond with our time," he noted.

"A fundamentalist group, although it may not kill anyone, although it may not strike anyone, is violent. The mental structure of fundamentalists is violence in the name of God."

However, despite candidly discussing increased persecution against believers, the Pope announced that he himself has done away with some of the precautions taken to protect him from possible harm.

"I know that something could happen to me, but it's in the hands of God. I remember that in Brazil they had prepared a closed Popemobile for me, with glass, but I couldn't greet the people and tell them that I love them from within a sardine tin," he said.

"Even if it's made of glass, for me that is a wall. It's true that something could happen to me, but let's be realistic, at my age I don't have much to lose."

You know Pope Francsis 's statement should teach us that what we write about and discuss here is not off-the-rail nutcase stuff. It echoes the thinking from within the very heart of the Church, the holy Father himself.

I will not speak for Mac but i don't believe in the current messenger. I believe there is refuge in all our communities. But to get up and move today seems like a stretch. And to be promised sinless societies is absurd. If a group of people want to start a religious commune...then let Gods will be done. Since the beginning of Christianity, people have created refuge in monasteries, churches and communal gatherings. But if a person is scaring people into joining... that is a cult to me. I continue to believe we are the refuge in our communities. If God sets up mystical refuge... then He will tell us in a mystical way.

    May Gods Will be Done
