A reasonable and hopeful conclusion. Ave Maria!

I hold onto my responsibility to vote this coming Nonember, but believe the executive Branch has accumulated too much power unto itself over the decades (as exhibited now even by President Trump). The most negative example of this in our history (in my humble opinion) occurred at the end of WWII. In May, 1945, the Japanese offered terms of surrender which were turned down by the USA. In the months that followed we took the opportunity to unleash 2 atom bombs, one on Hor0shima, Japan, and the other on Nagasaki that when combined inflicted almost 180,000 unnecessary deaths (mostly civilian).

Then, shortly before the end of 1945, we offered and then signed a treaty that looked very similar to the one offered by Japan to us back in May.

My conclusion is: as much as I love my country, the war I thought as a boy was necessary to confront evil, ended with a very great evil inflicted by our own President Truman and military. What society has failed to be tainted by the effects of original sin? (n)

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, have mercy on me!:notworthy:

I never heard about that so I googled it. They did not accept a peace treaty and vowed to fight to the end. Thats what I just read. My Dad fought in Iwo Jima and never mentioned they had turned down a peace treaty offer before the bombs.

Japan did not formally offer a peace treaty before the atomic bombs were dropped; instead, they ignored the unconditional surrender terms presented by the Allies. Their leaders were privately seeking mediation for more favorable terms but did not accept the Potsdam Declaration before the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

I did look at the social statistics of the country (see post 21818), which generally follow the pattern of most Western nations, so it is primarily the character and faith of the Prince that accounts for his stand. Praise Jesus Christ!

Thank you, Katfalls, for that important correction.
That point mitigates my prior judgment. It also somewhat modifies my judgment on the USA's use of the 1st atom bomb. But the indiscriminate reuse of a second bomb in Nagasaki I still entirely refuse to consider as legitimate when the massive number of innocent civilian casualties are considered.

We are living in different times and have more information about such things. Back then the average person was kept in the dark and would not have gone for the second bomb. War is hell, my Dad told me he lived 17 days in hell on Iwo Jima. He was wounded and taken off the island. He said you were lucky to get wounded and get out. He had to go down into the caves and said his guardian angel saved him.

I'm reading a book right now, written in the late 1800s, exposing the origins and plans of the freemasons. Well before WWII, they had already infiltrated the world governments and were calling a lot, if not most of, the shots. They were all over the world, planted in all countries, working as one body. There is no one country or its people to blame for terrible war decisions. Most of them were in the dark as to the real plans going on, and believed they were fighting for good and noble ideals.

One thing I noticed is that no matter who you vote for things always stayed the same. That in so far there ever was change it was always in a bad direction, never a good one.

I remember a famous psychiatrist being asked on radio what he thought of politicians. He said that people who thought they knew better than everyone else and wanted to tell everyone else what to do where not healthy.

Jesus let us know that the Devil is Prince of this World. Politics is I would say his Church. His home base.

But maybe there are really good politicians out there somewhere. I suppose statistically there must be , but they are hard to find. When they are good they don't tend to get elected.

Exactly Padraig. It is the uniparty. There are 2 parties to give the illusion of change but they really are all the same and controlled by the same money and people of power. Most of them have some sort of blackmail on them so they have to rule how their masters tell them. This midterm election in the US will be the 10th midterm of the last 11 where the balance of power will shift in the US. The people demand change every 2 years and nothing ever changes for the people just changes power in the country and again points to a true uniparty in my mind. Except now we really have 4 parties in the US. There are the moderate centralists of the democrat and republican party and then the socialist democrats and maga republicans. If the socialist gain power though look out. Michigan will be the state to watch this election cycle. It has always been a battleground state where the moderates of each party change power often. If the socialist radical muslim wins, it will be a telling sign of something bigger and scarier in this democracy to come in the years to come.

As far as I remember the United States Bishops issued a statement one time saying it was a citizens moral duty to vote. That not to vote would be sinful. I suppose it would be the same thing for many other Bishops Conferences throughout the World.

I don't know if this is right. It seems to imply that God kinda blesses Democracy. Historically this was not the Churches position, when modern Republics and Democracies were set up as far as I recall the Church was dead set against them and favoured Monarchies.

In Europe we are supposed to be Democracies but I doubt this is actually true. We are really ruled by unelected leaders and I have no idea how they end up in charge. At the moment these shadow people are mad for war with Russia and World War 3.

I am not that keen on politics apart from praying for leaders. Basically I think it is all smoke and mirrors. None of it real.

But then again if a good holy Catholic wants to get involved and try to make a difference in what is really a collosal pig sty, bless them, they have huge courage and hope.

My father who served in the Pacific in WWII explained that thousands of American lives were saved by dropping the bomb and thus bringing Japan to surrender. Otherwise it would have been a prolonged blood bath.

It would be my belief that it is never permissable to use any weapon of mass destruction at anytime.

  13. I'm sure there are good politicians
but they don't make it far. They must be backed financially by corporations etc and other countries it seems. There are favors and back room dealings. Whoever they want to win will win.

We have many weapons of mass destruction. Not just nuclear or atomic. Even heaven had a war when Satan was cast out. We can only hope for the promise that someday the book of revelation will be complete. A new heaven and new earth. But for now as individuals we give to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s. From St. John of the Cross, The Ascent” The three intangibles to be in Union with God, Faith, Hope, and Charity ( love).”… No human can create heaven on earth. But each human individually can have heaven in their heart.

From what I have been learning about history and the Church, I am now firmly against democracies. It is an absolute travesty that revolutionary men, puppets of the freemasons or heavily influenced by evil men like Voltaire, toppled nearly all monarchies one by one in the last couple centuries. It served the freemasons' agenda of removing all God-given authority and making the governments of the world easily manipulated by the freemasons' shadow government. And the end goal of all of it was to eventually overthrow the Church.

I'm halfway through The War of the Antichrist with the Church and Christian Civilization, and I HIGHLY recommend it to everyone. It was written in the late 1800s by Monsignor Dillon, the translation of which was personally paid for by Pope Leo XIII. Pope Leo XIII was trying to warn the world about freemasonry, and he wanted everyone to read this book. Everything that the book explained was the freemasons' goals for the world and the Church are coming true.

Yes, when secret documents of the freemasons were found, there was a detailed plan in there for how to turn governments into two party systems to give the illusion of change while both parties were actually working for the same freemason goals.

  18. You are so right PF. I learned all this from my mom starting at a young age.
Who is really behind the curtain is the same group as St Maximillion Kolbe has said. I will recommend the book to friends. Thank you.

Considering the majority are pro choice in some form or fashion, I will take my non-voting for them up with God at judgement. I am thinking He will understand.
