True. Don't get rid of your print books. I almost did but glad I didn't.

I've been building a home library since I was in my teens. I already suspected back then that it would get harder and harder to find good quality books without modern agenda and inappropriate content. I have 10 book shelves in my house with at least a thousand books, most of them hardcover!

I read digital books all the time. At the moment i am reading St Augustine's , Confession' in Spanish as well as I can.

I am also reading Louis De Wohl's novel , 'The Quiet Light' . Catholic books are such a joy especially the lives of saints or those written by saints.Very often I read books that I have read several times before. Like meeting an old friend.

George Orwell in his book, 1984', writes a lot about what is going on nowadays. especially about changing books so, so sad.

I got a note from facebook the other day saying that they were, 'concerned' about the ' very unusual', way I use it. I only use it to promote the Catholic Faith. They don;t like this. It is driving them nuts. I suppose sooner or later they will get round to banning me. Too bad.

    Update on the meteor.
NASA says the meteor that caused a sonic boom over Massachusetts was larger than first believed, it was over 5 feet wide. There is a team of divers out in Cape Cod Bay searching for the fragments.
I was talking about this event with my doctor this morning who owns a home on CC Bay. He said both he and his wife heard and felt nothing, and he believes strongly that we were not being told everything concerning this event. Had this meteor crashed on land in a populated area it could have been deadly. It would not be a reach, in this day and age when we have so many satellites, high powered telescopes, and radar monitoring the skies and space 24/7 to question why the path of this incoming object went undetected. We have a military installation on Cape Cod with sophisticated radar that monitors the entire East Coast. I have zero knowledge of the trajectory of celestial objects falling from the heavens, but with all of the technology available along with continuous surveillance, it is difficult to understand how a large object that must have been travelling through space for a considerable time before hitting Earth was missed. 5 foot meteor is very small. The small ones, I read, go undetected.

Thank you, Marc. Small but mighty, I guess. I just read that NASA said the meteor was packing an explosive force equal to 300 tons of TNT. Military early warning radars do have the ability to detect objects of this size, so it is certainly not comforting to know that this one was missed.

    Acts 2:19

And I will show wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath — blood and fire and vapor of smoke.
