Thanks Terry. So now i am confused a bit. At the 1 hour 6 minute mark, Fr. Alar confirms the requirement for plenary indulgences but then says on this Feast of Divine Mercy, that detachment from venial sin us not requited to obtain the promises made to St. Faustina by Jesus.

I agree with him that detachment from venial sin is not easy.

Did i misunderstand Fr. Alar or is his misinterpreting it?

    Thanks! Peace.

Fr Alar is right. That is the official position of the Church. He made it very clear in his talk.

Wouldn't loving Jesus and wanting to never sin, no matter how small, mean one is not attached to venial sin?

I believe what miker shared above concerning the requirements for the plenary indulgence which applies to the Divine Mercy Feast. Yes, when I was little I loved drawing a "get out of jail free" card when playing Monopoly!

But it is also important that we understand the nature of attachment which, in part, is the inclination each of us has toward certain kinds of sin based on personality. And yet, here this attachment is superseded by the promise of this Mercy on Divine Mercy Sunday.

And so Jesus through His message to St. Faustina, gives to us this exceptional annual gift, who find ourselves slugging our way through the mud of the Apostasy. Let us never fail to take advantage of so great a blessing! :notworthy::notworthy::love::ROFLMAO:

Divine Mercy in My Soul (St. Faustina’s diary, entry 1397)

The Lord said to me, The loss of each soul plunges Me into mortal sadness. You

always console Me when you pray for sinners. The prayer most pleasing to Me is

prayer for the conversion of sinners. Know, My daughter, that this prayer is

    always heard and answered.

I went to confession yesterday and to Mass and Communion today. I thought at the time I made the confession that it was a good one, although I think I might have remembered something I forgot about in the confessional last night, so I hope I took Jesus worthily in the Eucharist today.

The most wonderful thing I can say after Divine Mercy Sunday and I could say many wonderful things is.

    'I can die happy now'.:)

    Such a gift.
