I met Denis about 20 years ago. He is a lovely man and the real deal. Delighted to see this as I lost touch. I wasn't sure if he was still alive.
Thank you so much for posting this interview.i just listened. I was so moved by this humble beautiful man of faith. It was a great grace for me to hear his story.
I was in a Paasionist Church, Holy Crass, in Belfast a couple of years ago. I stayed on after Mass to pray and happened to glance over at an old man who standing giving his blessing to a line of people who stood before him by laying his hands on their heads. I am not sure but I suspect it might have been Denis. Maybe he came to the city to give a talk? I knew nothing about him back then.
Denis mentioned his first spiritual director, Fr Michael Daly. Fr Daly was a very holy priest and a great friend of my family . He used to say Holy Mass in my home every year especially for the Holy Souls. Pádraig when you visited my home many years ago Fr Daly said Mass for the Holy Souls. Later you were made aware of a soul suffering in purgatory who had been killed near our house some hundreds of years before. We prayed much for his release and he was released from purgatory at Christmas.
Did you know the Irish priest Denis mentioned that lives in Garabandal and who has the Word of Knowledge?
There are so many mystic souls going about at the minute . I can't help gritting my teeth a little that I so seldom get to meet any of them. I love this stuff. I know it is not the be all and end of all. But I do love spiritual fireworks.
I presume it's Fr Michael Fitzgerald. Yes he has the gift of healing & word of knowledge. He has Parkinson's and spent many years meeting with pilgrims and hearing confessions in Medjugorje. He has a house in Garabandal for many years and he now lives there. His health is very poorly I heard.
Yes, I heard independently that it is Fr. Michael Fitzgerald currently living in Garabandal and in poor health.
When i met Fr Michael in Garabandal he marched me to his home & straight into confessions lol He have me an Almighty blessing at the end laying his holy hands on me. A glorious priest
I am sorry he is not well , I would love to meet him. I only discovered this evening that I am only about four hours drive from Garabandal, I thought it was far more. I don't think there is much to see there but the apparition site itself is there?
My understanding is that Garabandal, though more easily reached than in the past, is not mobbed with pilgrims. Such quiet appeals to even myself (an extrovert)!
Very little there paddy a wee pub, a coffee dock, a small restaurant, two gift shops & a bookshop. No grocery shop but there is a small shop in a village a few miles down the road. But the Marian spirit is palpable.
