I absolutely believe it’s option A, though it think the period of peace will last much longer than 25 years, probably centuries.
Yes, the key is to develop and maintain spiritual habits. One of the greatest gifts I have ever been given was done so at my ordination as a Deacon. Bishop Douglas Lucia commanded us to pray the Liturgy of the Hours (at least a minimum of Lauds and Vespers) everyday. It's great at times to go beyond suggestions to commands. I felt like a little kid, but it has reaped many blessings and formed good habits. I love to consider the faithful souls who pray the Liturgy of the Hours. Our Lady of Good Success forewarn of the loss of monastic communities in our day, but at least the clergy and similar faithful who consistently pray the Hours daily, bath the world in ongoing and united prayer in every time zone! Who knows what keeps the world spinning on its axis?
By chance I heard recently in Spain by chance prophetic calls to say the Angelus several times a day. This is excellent I never heard of this before.. Not to bore the socks of you but when I was young in school we need indeed respect the Angelus. We all stood to say it and thought nothing of it. It was wonderful. It is easy enough to set a reminder on your smart phone to do so. There are even Angelus apps. It was wonderful to be reminded of this. Another thing about the coming storm is that it will like a real storm an eye in the middle of it. This is when the Great Sign and the Illumination Of Conscience. This will take the World aback and cause people to be taken back and take time it digest it. What will make it even more like the eye of a storm will be that it will indeed occur in the middle of things, like the real eye of a storm.
We also have some amazing, incredibly faithful and prayerful monasteries and cloisters around the world that either stayed faithful through the crisis of the Vatican II era, or are rising up now in the last decade or so, and are exploding in growth. One of them, the Benedictines of Mary, my daughter hopes to join one day. And don't forget the Conceptionist convent in Equador, which Jesus promised would always have at least one victim soul in every generation... That convent has multiple holy deceased nuns who are incorrupt! How many more victim souls and faithfully-enduring and praying religious do we just not know about?
Yes, it's like communism is in our hearts now. It went from being external to internal. And only God's grace can root it out now.
"'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.'" — Jeremiah 29:11 The important thing about all this is to see that it is positive, not negative. That it is not to be a doomsayer but to understand that we are on a path to healing and renewal. Yes there will be a dark before the morning, but there will be a morning. I had a series of dreams a few years back where I was walking along a country road in Ireland. There was an air of great graces, of excitement. Every house I passed the lights were on and people had gathered to pray and talk and share. I recall one house in particular lit up like a Christmas tree such a crowd there so many lights, like a great spiritual party. What had been lost was found. What had been dead had come back to life. Another great thing about all this is for those of you who earnestly wish to become a saint as indeed I hope all of you do for the only failure in life is not to have been a saint. Those who live through and during these dark days will indeed find their earnest hopes realised and will indeed be called to sainthood. Those who endure to the end will receive the crown. Matthew 10:18 Sheep among Wolves …17But beware of men; for they will hand you over to their councils and flog you in their synagogues. 18 On My account, you will be brought before governors and kings as witnesses to them and to the Gentiles. 19But when they hand you over, do not worry about how to respond or what to say. In that hour you will be given what to say.…
There is a lot of talk prophetically about how the mystical body of Christ will go through the crucifixion. This implies that there is also the resurrection of the mystical body of Christ. The first reading today struck me regarding this, particularly the second half. Isaiah 42 6,7 I, the LORD, have called you for the victory of justice, I have grasped you by the hand; I formed you, and set you as a covenant of the people, a light for the nations, to open the eyes of the blind, to bring out prisoners from confinement, and from the dungeon, those who live in darkness. Very promising. Not sure if you saw the video Fr. Chris Alar did regarding Maria Esperanza but it gave me chills in a good way.
I believe the cathechism describes these present days as the Passion of the Church. What a Great Honour to be with her in these dark days. https://catholicstand.com/the-passion-death-and-resurrection-of-the-church-part-1-of-2/ Before Christ’s second coming the Church must pass through a final trial that will shake the faith of many believers. The persecution that accompanies her pilgrimage on earth will unveil the “mystery of iniquity” in the form of a religious deception offering men an apparent solution to their problems at the price of apostasy from the truth. The supreme religious deception is that of the Antichrist, a pseudo-messianism by which man glorifies himself in place of God and of his Messiah come in the flesh. The Church will enter the glory of the kingdom only through this final Passover, when she will follow her Lord in his death and Resurrection.579 The kingdom will be fulfilled, then, not by a historic triumph of the Church through a progressive ascendancy, but only by God’s victory over the final unleashing of evil, which will cause his Bride to come down from heaven. (CCC 675, 677)
Did you all see this yet? Fr Chris Alar's talk about Maria Esperanza? Maybe it was already posted but I have been distracted and I wanted to post it here - I believe her words confirm that we are definitely in Option A. God is good
I don't know if anyone has read Fulton Sheen's book-Communism and the Conscience of the West? Fr. Richard Heilman quotes from it here. “[Satan] will set up a counterchurch which will be the ape of the [Catholic] Church … It will have all the notes and characteristics of the Church, but in reverse and emptied of its divine content.” We are living in the days of the Apocalypse, the last days of our era. The two great forces – the Mystical Body of Christ and the Mystical Body of the anti-Christ – are beginning to draw battle lines for the catastrophic contest. The False prophet will have a religion without a cross. A religion without a world to come. A religion to destroy religions. There will be a counterfeit Church. Christ’s Church the Catholic Church will be one; and the false Prophet will create the other. The False Church will be worldly, ecumenical, and global. It will be a loose federation of churches and religions, forming some type of global association. A world parliament of Churches. It will be emptied of all Divine content, it will be the mystical body of the anti-christ. The Mystical Body on earth today will have its Judas Iscariot, and he will be the false prophet. Satan will recruit him from our Bishops. The Antichrist will not be so called; otherwise he would have no followers. He will not wear red tights, nor vomit sulphur, nor carry a trident nor wave an arrowed tail as Mephistopheles in Faust. This masquerade has helped the Devil convince men that he does not exist. When no man recognizes, the more power he exercises. God has defined Himself as “I am Who am,” and the Devil as “I am who am not.” Nowhere in Sacred Scripture do we find warrant for the popular myth of the Devil as a buffoon who is dressed like the first “red.” Rather is he described as an angel fallen from heaven, as “the Prince of this world,” whose business it is to tell us that there is no other world. His logic is simple: if there is no heaven there is no hell; if there is no hell, then there is no sin; if there is no sin, then there is no judge, and if there is no judgment then evil is good and good is evil. But above all these descriptions, Our Lord tells us that he will be so much like Himself that he would deceive even the elect–and certainly no devil ever seen in picture books could deceive even the elect. How will he come in this new age to win followers to his religion? The pre-Communist Russian belief is that he will come disguised as the Great Humanitarian; he will talk peace, prosperity and plenty not as means to lead us to God, but as ends in themselves … The third temptation in which Satan asked Christ to adore him and all the kingdoms of the world would be His, will become the temptation to have a new religion without a Cross, a liturgy without a world to come, a religion to destroy a religion, or a politics which is a religion–one that renders unto Caesar even the things that are God’s. In the midst of all his seeming love for humanity and his glib talk of freedom and equality, he will have one great secret which he will tell to no one: he will not believe in God. Because his religion will be brotherhood without the fatherhood of God, he will deceive even the elect. He will set up a counterchurch which will be the ape of the Church, because he, the Devil, is the ape of God. It will have all the notes and characteristics of the Church, but in reverse and emptied of its divine content. It will be a mystical body of the Antichrist that will in all externals resemble the mystical body of Christ … But the twentieth century will join the counterchurch because it claims to be infallible when its visible head speaks ex cathedra from Moscow on the subject of economics and politics, and as chief shepherd of world communism.” (Fulton J. Sheen, Communism and the Conscience of the West [Bobbs-Merril Company, Indianapolis, 1948], pp. 24-25) Did Archbishop Fulton Sheen Prophesy About the Condition of Our Church Today? - Roman Catholic Man
Fantastic post. He truly was a great, great bishop. What ever happened to his canonisation? It stalled a time back, if I remember?
It's getting to be very hard since a lot of hearts are hardened & consciences deadened. With my agnostic friends I leave it since they are unsure of God, so don't believe in God's laws. Sometimes, I gently say something to an agnostic friend more willing to listen. In my lifetime, I've thought Christians are the worst, super judgemental, hypocritical etc. But, now I see the true Christian heart is that of good will, they want to get themselves & others to Heaven. Not caring about ones soul is not caring about their human dignity as well. Who would want to burn in hell for eternity?? We don't want that for ourselves or others. It's not judging a person's heart as to why they've sinned, but to help them get out of sin & the cycle of self destruction & self abuse. Of course, we examine our own conscience because no one wants to live a life in contrary to trying to help ppl. But, now I see it as, look at what Jesus did & He had & still has soooooo many haters. That won't change for us either. God knows our heart isn't to harshly judge or criticise, however, we can't turn a blind eye to someone continuously putting their hand in a socket. Sometimes, we have to turn away if they are adamant to do it. And ppl aren't lying if someone is fornicating & that's what they're actually doing. We should want to protect someone from a STD, STI - syphilis can make the nose collapse. So saying something is a part of helping someone's self preservation. My family are playing with fire & it's so sad to see. My mum is doing things of the occult & when I tell her otherwise she says to 'Shut up.' Oftentimes, we can't say much either, ppl don't want to hear it. It's hard to see ppl become unrecognisable due to darkness. I pray hearts will change, but it's up to them & why we need The Warning more than ever... And of course we cop it, we're just trying to look out for souls then get the short end of the stick. To be unaffected would mean we wouldn't be human lol. But, we keep praying, hoping & giving it all to God when our hearts break a million times over. I guess we understand what Jesus went thru, so many lashings to His body.
This describes well our pain over those who reject Christ. And when it is our nearest and dearest it is a very deep scourging of our hearts. But we have to keep trying--certainly praying. Those prayers will make all the difference to them in their last moments when they have the final choice to make.
This is a conglomeration of quotes from Sheen, pieces of it moved around and placed after other parts that remove the original context. Much of this is actually taken from the radio sermon I posted further up in the thread. Did you get a chance to read it? Excerpts from that are inserted here, changing the context. I have also not yet found an original source for the supposed statement that the false prophet will be recruited from our bishops. I'm in the process of trying to buy Sheen's book Communism and the Conscience of the West, to see if those words are actually in there.
I've quoted above one example. First of all, the first paragraph is not a part of the radio speech that the second paragraph is taken directly from. So already something has been changed here. Secondly, I'll show you what was actually said before the second paragraph: "The conflict of the future is be- tween the absolute who is the God-man and the absolute which is the man God; the God Who be- came man and the man who makes himself God; brothers in Christ and comrades in anti- Christ. The anti-Christ will not be so called, otherwise he would have no followers. He will wear no red tights, nor vomit sulphur, nor carry a trident nor wave an arrow tail as the Mephistophiles in Faust. This masquerade has helped the devil convince men that he does not exist..." You can go to the link in the second page of this thread where I posted Sheen's radio sermon, if you want to read it for yourself. I don't believe Fr. Heilman purposely rearranged quotes, but perhaps something was altered before he himself found the quote and shared it with others.
That's why I asked if anyone has read Fulton Sheen's book-Communism and the Conscience of the West, as Fr. Heilman listed the pages from which the quotes came from. (Fulton J. Sheen, Communism and the Conscience of the West [Bobbs-Merril Company, Indianapolis, 1948], pp. 24-25)
