The End - Option A or Option B?!!

I would say though that Sheen knew his Cathechism and knew very well that as the Church herself knew and taught that there would be a great apostasy and deception in the Church. I do take this from his talks.

This is of course the Apostacy and great deception described in our Catechism we are currently experiencing.

Sheen was no one's fool. He was highly prophetic.

I just don't like seeing people quote him with different words inserted or added on that change the meaning of what he's saying... When he's talking about a secular worldview and the leader of the soviet union acting as if he's infallible and confusing the faithful, but those words are changed to make it look like he's talking about the Church itself becoming false and its own bishops are going to deceive the faithful, that is very dangerous. We can't attribute to Sheen what he wasn't actually saying just because we think the new interpretation fits what we think we're seeing today.

I think that may be happening, not just with Sheen but many other prophecies as well, and it's often accidental because we're taking other people's word for it when they supposedly quote saints and prophecies.

    PF,
I've had a deep respect for the prophecies of Good Success for a number of years. The accuracy of their details in regard to the degradation of monasteries and loss of modesty in the 20th century, lend authenticity to her timetable, one that bodes well in the not too distant future (by no later than 2033). This is encouraging when I think of our children and grandchildren, whether I live to see it or not.

May the Two Hearts come to our aid now! :notworthy::notworthy::notworthy::notworthy::notworthy:(y)

I think it makes the most of us very, very uncomfortable in asking questions too much of the team. Of being part of the whole. Of being onboard with corporation Vatican. The wonderful buildings. The guys in their marvellous robes. The power of just being at one with it all.

    Of being obedient.

    Of not asking questions.

    Of going with the flow.

But that is corporation Catholic. That is not the Church. The Church is the Mystical Body of Christ.

I'm not really too much concerned about what Sheen said or did not say on this subject I never used him as a point of reference on this.

But I do sense from you a deep unease about asking too many questions about the truly satanic and abominable goings on in the Vatican at the moment. That too many questions are being asked and you'd rather go along with things ? That maybe evervthing is somehow fine?

That too many deep questions makes you uncomfortable and upset?

Oh yes, I'm a huge believer in the prophecies of Our Lady of Good Success. I've heard a few strange twisting of the prophecies in recent days, though, which is why I want to verify them with original sources.

Actually it's the opposite. I'm asking some questions here because I'm wanting to see original quotes from primary sources, instead of following along with whatever the most popular interpretation is lately. I want the truth.

I have mentioned in the past and bring up again, that in our instant news culture it is too easy to critique. Just 300 years ago, your average peasant farmer would know very little, if anything, about the what was going on in Rome, when there had been occasions of corruption. Lord knows I treasure the Sacrament of Penance by which I can repent of my own personal corruptions.

What the news encourages me to do is call others on to pursue holiness so we can treasure the peace of a clear conscience, how awesome is the intimacy of Holy Communion, and the joy of knowing like-minded souls. To convince one soul to return to the Bosom of Holy Mother Church is so much more enjoyable than complaining about unfaithful clerics and the degradation of society. About those what can I do? But in the day-to-day possibilities, I can be touched by grace and grace others with the joy of the Gospel.

I write the above to remind myself what is truly important.:coffee:

I found the published transcript of Archbishop Fulton Sheen's radio address of January 26, 1947. This is the sermon which is so often quoted, where Sheen talks about the antichrist and the setting up of a "false church" or, the "ape of the Church." The sermon in its entirety is one of the greatest things I have ever read. I encourage everyone to read it! It will give you chills and inspire you.

We are absolutely allowed to question. If things go on for decades, it's likely factual. It's different if one was lying or making things up...

Mortal sin(s) of omission are scary to me... What if we face God & He says 'You coward, all because you were afraid to speak up or do something? Because you didn't want to rock the boat? Your action could've changed things drastically!'

I worry about the same. I pray to God for people I know that are far from God, like protestants to become Catholic, or for athiests get out of immoral lifestyles (fornication, active homosexuality, etc.) and get to know God exists, but because I only pray and haven't really gone face to face with my concerns to them, I fear that I am responsible for the ruin of their souls, and I am a coward about it because the one time I tried, they did not want to hear any of it. I mean, I have kept praying for them, but I fear God will think it isn't enough. It also doesn't help that I have trouble articulating things out loud as an extremely shy introvert uncomfortable with speaking around strangers

Praying is the absolute best thing you can do for them. Talking to them is secondary to that and giving them a good example, by how you live your life.

I've found that the more I pray and try to grow in my relationship with God, the more the people around me actually start conversations with me about God, asking me questions or confiding in me things they're struggling with. And when the conversations start like that, people are a lot more receptive to whatever you have to say. God will orchestrate and bring together whatever you're supposed to help people with. Just pray and trust Him.

It gave me goosebumps! I sent it to my husband at work and he read it too.

I especially loved how Sheen said to not worry about the Church, because she will weather the storm like she always has, but to worry for the world. He even said that Transubstantiation will not cease. I know that has been a worry for some.

And the false church set up by the antichrist is communism. I hadn't heard it described before in the original context of his sermon, and I think most people have only read quotes from it...so there's this misconception that he was saying the institutional Catholic Church would eventually be taken over and be the "ape of the Church." But he's saying that communism had set itself up to parallel the Catholic Church in inverse, even in its very structure, as it had an "infallible" leader and a body of members that transcended race and nationality, bonded together by shared beliefs, just like the Church.

I wonder what Sheen would say of the situation we find ourselves in today. On the surface, communism has mostly fallen, but its infection of the world is still pervasive, and no one can deny that a large portion of the Church has been infected as well. It is not a false Church, but it is riddled with disease that must be cleansed and cured.

Thankfully, Our Lady of Good Success said that that is indeed what will happen. She will rescue us.

I heard that Padre Pio was asked one time about the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart would come and this would have been in the 1960's. At this he pointed to some children and said that they would live to see it. So this means that people even my age (70) will see the Triumph. The implication of this is that the Tribulation, the fullness of the Tribulation will be pretty brisk really but very.very intense, just a few years, rather like the Second World War but far, far, far more intense.

    I find this very encouraging.

Interesting video. Thanks for posting it.

At the risk of sounding dogmatic I’d say clearly it’s option A.

The vast majority of credible prophecies state that what’s round the corner is THE END OF AN ERA OR EPOCH thus the end of the times (plural) not the end of Time which would be the end of the world.

But maybe there’s an OPTION C and here I’m just speculating.

Maybe (just maybe) what some visionaries described as the end of times and the end of the world is one and the same phenomenon. It’s just a matter of language and interpretation.

It’s the end of the world AS WE KNOW IT. The changes (spiritual, moral, geographic, political) will be of such magnitude that it’s as if the old world had died or passed away and had been replaced by a “new world “, which does not mean the planet will cease to exist or go into dissolution.

The visionaries were shown a new world so radically different from the old world that they labeled the transition we’re witnessing now (and which will dramatically increase in the near future) as indeed the “end of the world “.

Add to that the fact that many mystics say that indeed Christ is about to return now at the end of this era. Certainly not in physical form but in a different spiritual if you like manifestation, one that we do not fully comprehend.

These mystics are not saying that Christ will return at the end of the physical world many thousands of centuries in the future. They’re saying Christ will return “now” at the end of this era or at the end of this world “as we know it “.

When this world “ends”, i.e., when the Immaculate Heart triumphs Our Lord will reign supreme in the world and in every heart and a “ new world “ will indeed be born.

Well, food for thought. Time will tell.

thanks for this! I will need to re-read but it was very inspiring and seems we are much closer to what Bishop Sheen warned about today than in 1947.

My take was that he warned that when faith fades, the world doesn’t become a neutral place, but it replaces God with a false absolute. The real danger is not open evil (although that is often raising its head) but a humanitarian-sounding culture that speaks of love and unity. But this price of this new/false way is removing truth, sin, sacrifice, and ultimately the Cross. In such a world, belonging replaces belief and consensus replaces truth. His answer to all of his is something i see so often here on MOG-spiritual renewal, prayer, moral courage, and fidelity to Christ. And practically, the best way to achieve this is through the Mass, confession, rosary, and Word of God.
