I’m at the Shrine of Our Lady of Good Hope in Champion Wisconsin this morning. Prayers have been offered for all our MOG family and lurkers as well as all your intentions!
I’ve traveled 1500 miles since Friday July 25th and now I have a 900 mile drive home. If you would be so kind, please say a prayer for me, for a safe trip and to stay awake, alert and vigilant. (I traveled out to Mentone Indiana last week for the national gyroplane convention and fly in and finally had the opportunity to go up in a gyro for the first time, two different gyroplanes actually. The owner let me fly the blue one in the first video while we were up: I’ve had a “gyro grin” on my face ever since. Now I’m traveling up to Green Bay WI to pick up some gyroplane parts so I stopped at the Champion Shrine while I was in the neighborhood.)
In that first video, the owner cut the throttle to idle so our forward airspeed decreased to zero, but the gyro simply started descending smoothly and uneventfully. If airspeed is decreased to zero in a regular airplane it’s very dangerous because the wings “stall” - they stop producing lift - and the airplane falls out of the sky. A gyro can fly miles high, turn off the engine completely, and still land safely.
Same here, dear Brian, I feel the same. Thank you for the posting dear HeavenlyHosts, and all who post here. Fly safely dear Brian! Say a prayer for us when you are that close to heaven!
Thanks, Brian and prayers sent up for your return safe trip home. And thanks for the pics, too. I hope someday to visit this Marian shrine.
