JANUARY 1, 1965: CONCHITA'S IMPRESSIVE AND UNEXPECTED ECSTASY AT THE PINES: THE BLESSED VIRGIN OF MOUNT CARMEL REVEALS TO HER THE FUTURE "AVISO" . . .(the Warning) On this "first Friday of the month," Feast also of the Octave of the Nativity of Our Lord Jesus, the Blessed Virgin appeared to Conchita at the Pines. The apparition, not previously announced to her during the preceding locution of December 8, lasted two hours, and unfolded in great discretion: two small shepherd lads, a little boy and a little girl, coming down the mountain with their sheep, were, in effect, the only witnesses of the ecstasy. On the same day, Conchita would reveal to Maximina the nature of her ecstasy, which bore mainly on the future Aviso. Still unpublished today, here is the very first reported written text by the visionary herself, a letter she was to send to Joey Lomangino on May 28, 1965: "The world is always carrying on the same way, if not worse. Few paid attention to the Message (the first one, October 18, 1961). My Son will have to give another one, and this will be the last one. After June 18 (1965) and before the Miracle, there will come a "disaster" from heaven, it will be an "Aviso" for the world to amend its ways. If, with this trial and the Miracle, Humanity does not change, the Chastisement will fall on us and the end of the times will also come. The "disaster," as she told me, is horrible, the kind we deserve. The Blessed Virgin also told me that we must not grieve over the material sufferings of the "chastisement" that we ourselves will have brought about because of our sins committed against her Son. These are the last avisos (warnings), and we must derive benefit from them. She told me again that the world believes there is a Heaven and a hell, but we do not think that we will have to go to the one or the other. Humanity thinks only about the present life (. . .)" CONCHITA’S NEW YEAR’S PRAYER—JANUARY 1, 1967 Mother, I pray that this new year That I not be vain. I ask you also for sincerity, gratitude and Love for You. Lord, this is what I ask of you this year: Give me the spirit of sacrifice, of prayer. Let me receive Communion with more fervor, And visit the Blessed Sacrament more often. Forgive me, Lord. Thank you for all of the good that you have given us. Thank you for all of the good that you have given my family and Forgive us for not always doing what you ask. Lord, thank you for this new year and forgive me for last year. Lord, I pray for all those whom you have commended to me. Above all for those who need you most. Lord, I also pray for the souls in Purgatory. I pray for all of the sick. For those who spread the message; And for those who don’t want to know anything about the message. I pray for everyone. I also pray for those who write to me now, And for all who have written to me telling me about their needs. Lord, I tell You about them, Although I cannot tell you about all of them, Lord, you already know. Mother, listen to all of us, Tell your Son And help and give them what they pray for, If it is for your greater glory and Jesus' And for the good of our souls. Lord, forgive those you have entrusted to me. Lord, I pray so that your message will spread more and more And that all who spread the message Will do it for You. Lord, thank you for them. A webcam has been installed in the San Sebastián church in Garabandal. People can now watch services live from the Garabandal Church. Paul Martin wrote me the following, "I am a friend of Francis Prendergast from Ireland, who has been a great follower of Garabandal. Francis met up with Fr. Orlando over a year ago and encouraged him to think about installing a webcam so people could watch services live from San Sabastion of Garabandal Church. Francis agreed to pay for the camera and installation, hence Fr Orland agreed to go ahead with the project. I then agreed I would help Francis out with the project, hence we commissioned Church Services TV in Ireland to provide the webcam and to organize installation of the webcam into the church at Garabandal. THE MORNING OFFERING PRAYER “By reciting the beautiful Morning Offering daily, we can fulfill our Lady's request in her Garabandal message that we “make many sacrifices and do much penance”. The more faithful we are to our state in life, the more meritorious our day is before God and our Lady will take all of these merits and offer them to the Eternal Father in reparation for sins. My brothers and sisters, I often think of how many graces are being lost every day in hospitals and homes for the Aged that are literally factories of conversion because they are unaware of the value of the Morning Offering. How many mothers, fathers and young adults who are good people, do not say their Morning Offering and how many graces are slipping by them through the day? Everyone should know that through the Morning Offering we give the Graces we receive to Jesus, through Mary and thus we obtain the conversion of Sinners, free souls from Purgatory and strengthen our church. Suffering Back in September of 2012, I had lunch with Conchita and we discussed many things but mostly about suffering in the world. Suffering, who wants it ? You know when you're in the presence of a true holy person when they embrace suffering, almost joyfully. Padre Pio said "if you knew the value of suffering, you'd never give it up ". I listened on how she described the purpose of suffering, and "taking up your cross" has so much spiritual value, we truly don't comprehend it sometimes. We talked about there is so much cancer in the world, and the suffering it brings, and again there was a simple profound thought, is it possible the illness is allowed by God, and maybe this person will actually benefit from the illness by bringing them closer to God then they would have ever been. Lets face it, when you are really sick, what is the first thing you think about, praying to get well ! I can tell you from experience, having to have had two surgeries in December of 2023 to remove a cancerous tumor from my kidney and go back for a second operation to repair damaged veins still bleeding, I never had prayed for God and Jesus to be closer to me and heal me than at that time. It’s humbling. Her little story was simple, inspiring, and brilliant. She said (again I’m paraphrasing the long story), There was a sheep herder, who each day would tend to his flock, and each day one of his sheep would run toward the edge of a mountain cliff, and almost fall over. Each day he would pull him back, but the sheep "wanted to run toward the edge of the cliff". Finally, the Sheepherder decided to break a leg on the sheep, well knowing this was painful, and would prevent the sheep from walking. Each day though, he would pick up the sheep and carry it on his shoulders as he went out into the field. This allowed the sheep to still be outside, but more importantly the two of them bonded and became closer because the sheep was dependant on the herder. The herder knew that this the right thing to do, even though I’m sure it was not what the sheep wanted, but in the end, he healed, walked again, and the two were closer than ever. I never looked at suffering again the same way. I offer it up daily and ask God to draw me closer to him, for he knows best.
Rgak you Glen for sharing your testimony. It is the truth and very powerful. I belong to a charism (approved by Vatican) within Church that emphasizes much the same. In fact. it recommneds that ecah of us look at our personal history to discover the "cross" in our lives and to do as what you said, embrace it knowing it is only through it that we reach salvation. Im not saying I am very good at this..I am still walking the journey but my perspective of the Cross in my life is to see it as something God has allowed for my good and something I should not reject. Girls speak other languages in ecstasy ! September of 1961 Father Ramón brought out another very remarkable matter that occurred in the early ecstasies at Garabandal: “I myself have witnessed things that have given me reason to say that the girls spoke foreign languages while in their state of trance. Actually it isn't exactly that, at least not at the time I am writing these lines; the fact is that the girls have spoken words in other languages. I have heard the following . . . He (St. Michael) gives some words in French, in Latin, in German, and the beginning of the Hail Mary in Greek.) The most interesting thing is not that they spoke these words in ecstasy, but that they corrected themselves when they spoke them badly, so as to come to correct diction and pronunciation. They gave the impression that they were hearing the words from someone, one after the other, and that they were simply repeating them.” “ She Went In Haste to the Mountain” Book 1,Chpt.5 page 107
THE SUN DANCES – 3 times in October 1972 ! “ NEEDLES” magazine, Winter 1973 Issue , pages 19,20 By Fr. Joseph A. Pelletier On 3 separate dates in 1972, people witnessed the Sun “dancing” in the skies of Garabandal. On May 24, 1972, June 8, 1972, and October 3, 1972. May 24, 1972 - “This happening is mentioned in the “NEEDLES” (Fall 1972 issue pg.24). The magazine quotes Marita Foley as follows: “On Wednesday May 24, while some 40 of our group were gathered together after the recitation of the rosary, the Salve Regina and other prayers, under the Pines, someone exclaimed “ Look at the Sun !, Look at the Sun ! “ We did so. And to our amazement the sun was spinning in a clock wise direction. ( The event took place at 6:30pm and lasted about a half an hour ).
Jacinta interviewed by Vatican officials “Needles” magazine, Summer issue 1976, page 23 “It was recently learned that in December of 1975 Garabandal Visionary Jacinta Gonzalez (now Monahan) visited Rome to commemorate the Holy year and while there, was summoned for questioning by Vatican officials in regard to the Spanish apparitions which lasted from 1961 through 1965. Details of the meeting, other than the fact that Jacinta’s integrity left a very favorable impression, are confidential at this time. “THE CONDITIONAL CHASTISEMENT” In his book “THE APPARITIONS OF GARABANDAL”, Francisco Sanchez-Venture y Pascual includes the following note written by Conchita about the Chastisement : “The Chastisement is conditional and depends on whether or not mankind heeds the messages of the Blessed Virgin and the Miracle. If it should take place, I know what it will consist of because the Blessed Virgin told me about it, but I am not permitted to say what it is. Moreover, I have seen the Chastisement. I can assure you that if it comes, it will be worse than being enveloped in fire, worse than having fire above and beneath you. I do not know how much time will elapse between the Miracle and the Chastisement. “
“THE CONDITIONAL CHASTISEMENT” (cont. ) On the feast of the Holy Rosary, October 7, 1962, Maria Herrero de Gallardo was in Garabandal and took the occasion to question Mari Loli about the visions of June 19-20, 1962 (the Nights of the Screams), and what she and the other visionaries could possibly have seen to cause them to cry out in such a terrifying manner. Sefiora Herrero reported: "Oh!" exclaimed the girl. "That was horrible to see. We were really frightened, and I know no words that could explain it. We saw rivers change into blood....
