Well, I bought and have read the first 75 pages of The War of the AntiChrist with the Church and Christian Civilization. It is excellent and shows forth how marvelous and resistant Pope Leo XIII was in waging war against Freemasonry. Pope Pius X followed up in a serious attempt to purge the Church of such hateful, anti-Christian worms, but a resurgent presence is currently causing great damage. Freemason operatives have planned to gain control of all civil institutions. I see a connection now between the devil and freemasonry: masons ultimately serve the devil and seek to gain control over all societal institutions and eliminate Christendom, and primarily their arch rival, the Catholic Church. And freemasonry loves to highlight their human goal of fraternity. Even Leo XIII attacks that concept! I've continued my reading of this synthesis of the history of Freemasonry. To tell you the truth, the scope of influence, the interconnections of lodges throughout Europe, its hatred of the Catholic Church- all before the French Revolution- is mind boggling. They were the prime movers bringing about the suppression of the Jesuits because to them it was imperative to eliminate Jesuit influence in Imperial courts. Even at that point in time was the desire to put a supreme mason in charge of international affairs. It reveals that the consequential fracturing of Christendom following the Protestant Revolt, provided the soil of germination in diabolical plans for a direct assault on the Church. Virtually every Pope in the 19th century condemned Freemasonry, but after Pius X, it appears that effective resistance collapsed. It also is affecting my worldview regarding the American Revolution and reveals that French General Marquis de Lafayette, famous supporter of the American Revolution, was deep into Freemasonry and attended secret assemblies of Freemasons in Europe leading up to the French Revolution. My previous understanding that Americans like Franklin and Washington were benign masons is sadly threatened. The evidence presented in this work published in 1885, and endorsed by Leo XIII, makes me understand how important a goal masonic infiltration of the Church is, because the AntiChrist will apparently be thoroughly connected to Freemasonry! The original work in its current publication has not only copious notes by the author, Msgr. George Dillon, but also by Catholic, Joshua Charles, in the 2023 republication.
