Asking for your prayers for my BIL, Peter. He has had a string of significant medical issues during these past several years. And he is also a care giver to his wife (my wife’s sister) who also has dealt with several heath issues, in particular, memory loss. Peter has been a lifelong and very faithful man. But all of this has led him to a dark place… he is angry at everyone, including God. He is refusing prayers, even a priest to speak with him, etc. Bottom line, His spirit in many ways is broken. My prayer request is less on a physical healing , but more for God the heal his broken spirit…for Pete to know and have a renewed faith. Thank you.
Praying for Him and his wife! I understand the stress and difficulty of taking care of others and the anger it can cause. I will be at adoration tomorrow and will bring this intention to Our Lord.
I'll ask St. Therese to join me in praying for Peter's heart. She went through her dark night and remained faithful and full of love! Therese, please send roses on Peter's behalf!
This is a great test for your BIL with all these trials, will pray for him too. Your comment about his broken spirit reminded me of Psalm 51 which we were asked to pray on december 8th for the hour of Grace. Maybe he can find solace in it? A broken spirit can be the point of great Grace because it's the point where we realize that we are literally nothing without God. "My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise."
