I was praying Divine Office and in the night prayer, in psalm 129 (130) I substituted the Catholic Church for the word Israel and it was very prophetic . . .the Old Testament was prophesy, indeed. I will do that from now on just to see how I feel. Amazing.

Yes.. However? As the literal Jewish secular state of Israel? No. The so-called Third Temple planned to be constructed in Jerusalem - is viewed by many at being the seat of the coming AntiChrist who's being peddled as the Messiah! From the time our Lord Jesus fulfilled the Mosaic Law - thus Redeeming Man back to God thus bringing in the New Covenant - Salvation comes via God's Holy Spirit and not from obeying Mosaic Law The CHURCH? Is also known as the Temple of God! ... It is Spiritual (and never Brick and Mortar anymore)... and We Faithful are a part of God's Temple - United with the Trinity~ God's Kingdom? .. Is Coming.. and in one sense is here (yet not fully revealed) It comprises all those with God INSIDE them - as God has Taught/ REF: Many portions of Sacred Scriptures and Catholic Church Magisterium
I guess I never had anyone point that out to me. I never really thought about it I always focused on the bride of Christ and that is his church. I will meditate on all of this. Yes we are poorly catechized, I agree.
My main focus Is God .. which is maintained and cultivated by RePentance via Faith in our Lord Jesus - Yes, Head of the Body of Christ, God's TEMPLE aka THE CHURCH.. My other focus is upon the visible Church .... and the worldly world / agents of AntiChrist ... and GeoPolitics.. My level of Faith? Increased Multi-Fold, when I first Prayerfully Absorbed God's Gospel ... and from that I dove into long studying of pertinent Church Magisterium From those, It became very clear how woefully short many Catholics are - with respect to a sort of (I call it) beautiful 1st Century AD temper of Christ's Mind - existing amongst our Lord's disciples. Part of that shortness of Today connects with an unrealized Complacency borne from decades of Glowing Stats during the 1st 6 decades of the 20th Century, which frankly and for the most part could not (for a few decades) accept any notion that the visible Church is actually attackable. Which brings us to today .. moving ever closer to the Return of our Lord. Moral? Be Ready and Awake, for we shall not know the time when the Thief in the Night (JESUS) Returns! _
I haven’t gotten into the worldliness like others have since I am a contemplative. My focus has been on building a spiritual relationship with God and Jesus with a special devotion to the Holy Face. But I do have a question for Frankly and Brian. If Israel represents the church, what does Jerusalem represent. That term was used in morning prayer today. Jesus? As Jesus was also - I'm surrounded by this worldly world .. and my spiritual walk with God is not in any way hampered.. My main focus is increasing my Faith IN Jesus - as Jesus Teaches us in His Gospel. Israel to me is the current (worldly) secular Jewish State in the Mid East, and its Jerusalem is become once again its Capital.. From within its anticipated to be constructed Third Temple in Jerusalem - is also anticipated by some to be the temple of (the coming) AntiChrist.. The New Jerusalem to come soon after our Lord Jesus' Return? IS the New Heaven (God's Kingdom) coming to the New Earth. ("Thy Kingdom Come...") - Ref: Revelations.

Jews have immense respect for King Cyrus II of Persia because in addition to abolishing the Babylonian captivity, his kindness allowed the rebuilding of the Jewish temple; even as a pagan king he is honored in Judaism for his role in Israel's deliverance; that means they could even accept a non-Jew as the messiah if he rebuilt the temple.
Let us not forget that the reason for the Destruction of the First Temple --> Babylonian Exile --> was over grave Sinful Disobedience to God - on the part of the Israelites.. And then, after the 2nd Temple (of Jesus' time) was rebuilt..? Once again, that temple too - along with Jerusalem itself - was destroyed (70 AD) for Failure on the part of the Jewish leadership to recognize Messiah Jesus - along w/sentencing Jesus to death. What's important for all - is to avoid obedience to anything connected w/the Third Temple - regardless of ethnicity. (That said, some of the past averred that the AntiChrist shall be a Jewish Male) +
The Jews have a historical tendency to be at the centre of events; obviously in terms of the Old and New Testaments, but also in later examples such as Karl Marx, not to mention the tragic events of the Holocaust. It would be unsurprising, given their roles in both Salvation History and Damnation History, that they would provide another central character. If I remember correctly, Padraig recently emphasised on another thread (or was it this one?) the importance of the Jews in Salvation History. It seems inevitable many Jews will eventually be converted; I think it likely they will bring many more with them-should we be surprised if the devil co-opts one of their own in a last desperate attempt to stop this? There is an irony in their futile attempt to resurrect a dead sacrifice in order to counter Him who resurrected Himself, that we might all be resurrected. It possesses a hopeless sadness about it. May God help them to realise their error.
