Thanks for this, Mario and I watched her video, too. Yes, I agree, I do love this governor! We do need many more like her! Time to get out there to vote this November for mid term election. And, to continually to pray...
Thanks, djm, I also like this past message June 25, 2007 "Dear children! Also today, with great joy in my heart, I call you to conversion. Little children, do not forget that you are all important in this great plan, which God leads through Medjugorje. God desires to convert the entire world and to call it to salvation and to the way towards Himself, who is the beginning and the end of every being. In a special way, little children, from the depth of my heart, I call you all to open yourselves to this great grace that God gives you through my presence here. I desire to thank each of you for the sacrifices and prayers. I am with you and I bless you all. Thank you for having responded to my call."
I note, in the Catholic Thing article today by Anthony Esolen, that Archbishop Cordileone has been criticised for his rebuke of Nancy Pelosi by one Bishop Jackels of Dubuque, the latter reheating the pathetic seamless garment argument, as far as I can make out, and relying more on emotion than reason in the process. It is apparent that God retains His sense of humour no matter what atrocities we come up with-is a jackal not a close relation of the wolf?

Here is a link to the article: https://www.thecatholicthing.org/2022/06/04/a-false-rebuke-from-dubuque/ FWIW, Jackels is my bishop, and yes, I am disappointed with his leadership. He refuses to acknowledge the local Catholic radio station (KCRD-FM) as Catholic, stating that if he were to do that, he would be claiming that all of the content had been approved by him. Not true, and an issue only if you believe the content carried by EWTN, Relevant Radio, and Station of the Cross are in some way non-Catholic. This came to a head last year when our fundraising dinner had Fr. James Altman as the keynote speaker, and the bishop, in a letter included in the bulletin and posted on the diocesan website, made it clear that the laity were not to attend the affair. He did this without directly naming the station or mentioning the fundraiser. He also ignored a public request by several priests to sit down and discuss the issues being raised by Fr. Altman. The bishop also has wondered aloud from the pulpit, why women can't be priests. The Rosary Rally held today in front of our local Perpetual Adoration Chapel was dedicated to the hope that the Holy Spirit would rebuke the bishop and correct him.
This is a very, very good question... Why Are the Detroit Tigers Funding Gender-Transition Surgeries for Minors? By Nate Hochman May 27, 2022 12:38 PM https://www.nationalreview.com/corn...nding-gender-transition-surgeries-for-minors/
You may have seen this post… it was in Spiritdaily. Given all that is going on…. This blog post gives me hope and understanding. Not that it makes it better:/easier. But why should that be when Our Lord did not it at all easy in his life https://spiritdailyblog.com/inspiration/what-god-gives
Praying for the dead and all those affected by this.+ June 6, 20223:18 AM EDTLast Updated 5 hours ago At least 50 killed in massacre at Catholic church in southwest Nigeria By Fikayo Owoeye 2 minute read Summary Unknown gunmen attacked church during Sunday mass Local media and medic say at least 50 killed Police say lives lost, others injured in attack Such attacks rare in southwest Nigeria Pope Francis prayed for victims, Vatican says LAGOS, June 5 (Reuters) - Gunmen attacked a Catholic church in southwest Nigeria during mass on Sunday, killing at least 50 people including women and children, according to a hospital doctor and media reports. The gunmen shot at people outside and inside the church building, killing and injuries worshippers, said Funmilayo Ibukun Odunlami, police spokesperson for Ondo state. She did not say how many people were killed or injured at St Francis Catholic Church in the town of Owo but added police were investigating the cause of the attack. Ondo state Governor Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, who visited the scene of the attack and injured persons in hospital, described Sunday's incident as "a great massacre" that should not be allowed to happen again. The identity and motive of the attackers was not immediately clear. 1/4 Relatives of churchgoers who were attacked by gunmen during Sunday's church service gather as health workers attend to victims brought in by ambulance after the attack at St. Francis Catholic Church, in Owo, Nigeria June 5, 2022. REUTERS/Stringer "It is so sad that while the Holy Mass was going on, unknown gunmen attacked St Francis Catholic Church...leaving many feared dead and many others injured and the Church violated," said Catholic Church spokesman in Nigeria, Reverend Augustine Ikwu. Ikwu said the bishop and priests from the parish had survived the attack unharmed. A doctor at a hospital in Owo told Reuters that at least 50 bodies had been brought into two hospitals in the town from the attack. The doctor, who declined to be named because he is not authorised to speak to the press, also said there was a need for blood donations to treat the injured. President Muhammadu Buhari condemned the attack, calling it "heinous", and the Vatican said Pope Francis was praying for the victims who had been "painfully stricken in a moment of celebration". Nigeria is battling an Islamist insurgency in the northeast and armed gangs who carry out attacks and kidnappings for ransom, mostly in the northwest. In the southwest, attacks such as this are rare.
This Bishop is displaying some stark contradictions. He opposes banning baby-murderers from receiving the Body of Christ, but has no problem opposing and banning people from attending a dinner featuring a, admittedly controversial, Catholic priest.
And how can we have a synod of synodality which if I got it right is about how we are all suppose to “walk” together and then you tell people you can’t even listen to a priest who is in good standing. All because he has a different perspective?
The church slaughter was so awful. All of mass yesterday, I kept having these overwhelming thoughts of a gunman attacking a mass in process. It was to the point and so heavy on my heart that I kept looking at the doors expecting something to happen here and planning what I'd do to protect my family and others. Then I come out of church to find the news of this. So awful.
Terrible tragedy. Those poor, poor people. Our churches, and sacred statues are being destroyed, and our tabernacles desecrated here at home. How much longer before brutal attacks like this happen everywhere? It is so sad that we must be on alert during Holy Mass.
In honor of Mary, Mother of the Church. These apparitions took place in Nigeria and have not been given the Church's approval as of yet but Our Blessed Mother always seems to go where she is needed most. Edited to add:
