This is wonderful. This has happened to me a few times and it's nice to see it confirmed by a priest. On a related idea, I was thinking recently about famous people and how they seem to have it all in a worldly sense, but are so often instruments of the bad guy. At mass on the 25th, the priest read the consecration and afterwards implored everyone to pray much for Putin, you know because he is THE only madman of the moment, THE scoundrel of the earth. I prayed for him as requested without a problem because I've seen him showing devotion to Our Lady and hope that She can act on his heart. But my first thought was: how unfair to not include other leaders in the prayer intentions as they all need prayers too - as if a war is possible with only one side fighting. Wouldn't it be tragically ironic if, as a result of the bias of a crooked media, Putin receives more prayers because of his position in the limelight?
Wow, wonderful! I've been praying for years for my dad to return to the Faith. I'm doing a special 3 year prayer in honor of the Precious Blood to save him and my siblings. I look forward to seeing God's grace swoop in to rescue him one day.
Devotion to the Drops of Blood Lost by Our Lord Jesus Christ St. Elizabeth, Queen of Hungary, with St. Matilda and St. Bridget, wishing to know something of the Passion of Jesus Christ, offered fervent and special prayers, upon which Our Lord revealed to them: To all the faithful who shall recite for 3 years, each day, 2 Our Fathers, 2 Hail Mary’s and 2 Glory Be’s, in honor of the drops of Blood I lost, I will concede the following 5 graces: 1st The plenary indulgence and remittance of your sins. 2nd You will be free from the pains of Purgatory. 3rd If you should die before completing the said 3 years, for you it will be the same as if you had completed them. 4th It will be upon your death the same as if you had shed all your blood for the Holy Faith. 5th I will descend from Heaven to take your soul and that of your relatives, until the fourth generation. Blessed by His Holiness Pope Leo XIII in Rome, April 5, 1890. (I pray this daily before the image of Christ in Mary's arms on my purple scapular, or in front of a crucifix, and visualize each drop of His Precious Blood. I add a small invocation after each of the six prayers, such as, "May Your Precious Blood wash over me and my family.... May Your Precious Blood wash over my children's future spouses and their families, and their future spiritual directors... May Your Precious Blood wash over all of our leaders in the Church and in the world... May Your Precious Blood wash over those contemplating abortion or suicide... etc.")
PF, Could you be more specific concerning the actual wording of the prayer? Mary, Queen of Heaven, pray for us!
Wow! Just 3 years for all those promises. I’m on year 11 of the 12 Year Prayers of St. Bridget with pretty much the same promises!
I totally admire the dedication of PF and Denise P. It takes determination and perseverance. God bless.
Great job! I made it about a year with those and fell out of it during my rough pregnancy with my daughter. I had planned to start it back up, but then I discovered this Precious Blood devotion! Something I can definitely handle! I'm on year 2!
It's two Our Fathers, two Hail Mary's, and two Glory Be's each day in honor of the drops of blood Jesus shed during His passion. So you're honoring six drops of His Blood a day for 3 years.
Sometimes I wonder if one of my ancestors did a set of prayers like this for their descendents and thus earned for me the grace of Faith! I hope to pass the gift on!
