Each day, withdraw from yourself and the world so that you may be alone with God. He wants to speak to you and tell you the path you should follow and what you should do. SUNDAY, JANUARY 20, 1963: END OF THE ECSTASIES (EXCEPT VERY SPORADICALLY, FOR CONCHITA) For Conchita as well, the great period of the apparitions came to an end on that day. She would have no more ecstasies, except in a very sporadic way. On this Sunday, also the Feast of San Sebastian, Patron Saint of the village, Conchita, in ecstasy, visited the last house of Garabandal that had not yet been visited! Doctor Jean Caux, who then was present, said that this ecstasy lasted more than two hours. for him it was one of "the most beautiful ecstasies I ever witnessed!" From 'GARABANDAL’ Book. J. Many people ask me to compare the prophecy of the "Three Days of Darkness" attributed to the late mystic, Blessed Anna Maria Taigi, and the “CHASTISEMENT” mentioned at Garabandal. (The term "3 days" was NEVER used in Garabandal.) We have one description from Conchita ,and one from Mari Loli as to one aspect of the event, whereas Blessed Anna's is more detailed and descriptive. They do same one common theme of “ FIRE”. Here is Conchita's statement on what the Blessed Mother allowed her to say about the "Chastisement" : “The Chastisement is conditional and depends on whether or not mankind heeds the messages of the Blessed Virgin and the Miracle. If it should take place, I know what it will consist of, because the Blessed Virgin told me about it, but I am not permitted to say what it is. Moreover, I have seen the Chastisement. I can assure you that if it comes, it will be worse than being enveloped in fire, worse than having fire above and beneath you. I do not know how much time will elapse between the Miracle and the Conditional Chastisement.“ On the feast of the Holy Rosary, October 7, 1962, Maria Herrero de Gallardo was in Garabandal and took the occasion to question Mari Loli about the visions of June 19-20, 1962 (the Nights of the Screams), and what she and the other visionaries could possibly have seen to cause them to cry out in such a terrifying manner. Sefiora Herrero reported: "Oh!" exclaimed the girl. "That was horrible to see. We were really frightened, and I know no words that could explain it. We saw rivers change into blood.... Fire fell from the sky.... And something much worse still, which I'm not able to reveal now." Lightning and thunderbolts of an unprecedented magnitude will strike the earth. The whole earth will shake, heavenly bodies will be disturbed (this will be the beginning of the Three Days). Every Demon, every evil spirit will be released from hell and allowed to roam the earth. Terrifying apparitions will take place. Many will die from sheer fright. Fire will rain forth from the sky, all large cities will be destroyed, poisonous gases will fill the air, cries and lamentations everywhere. The unbelievers will burn in the open like withered grass. The entire earth will be afflicted; it will look like a huge graveyard. Even another Maraian apparition: Message from Akita: October 13, 1973 "My dear daughter, listen well to what I have to say to you. You will inform your superior." "As I told you, if men do not repent and better themselves, the Father will inflict a terrible punishment on all humanity. It will be a punishment greater than the deluge, such as one will never seen before. Fire will fall from the sky and will wipe out a great part of humanity, the good as well as the bad, sparing neither priests nor faithful. The survivors will find themselves so desolate that they will envy the dead. The only arms which will remain for you will be the Rosary and the Sign left by My Son. Each day recite the prayers of the Rosary. With the Rosary, pray for the Pope, the bishops and priests." To me , they all seem to be describing the same event.
The Girls hold Mary’s crown ! (July 29, 1961 ) “One of them finally rose to her feet and took the Virgin's crown in her arms. The crowd saw her go through the motions of examining it, and lift it onto her head. The crown was passed from hand to hand among the children. The spectators could see that it fitted some heads better than others.” An eyewitness recorded the scene. "They raised their hands as if proffering something. One folded her arms. There was a sound of kisses. They stretched out their arms, smiling; now, they were listening; they started to cry. After eleven minutes they came to. We ran over to them and observed that one still had wet tear-stains on her cheeks. 'Why are you crying?' we asked. But she did not answer." * "Who did you see?" someone asked Mary Loly. "We saw Our Lady of Mount Carmel. We held her crown in our hands." "We were still talking to them," recalls a spectator, "when they had their third vision of the day, and went into a trance again. This time, everything they said was heard quite clearly. The Virgin brought the Infant Jesus. They took His crown. The little girls remarked that it was small. They asked His age. "The Virgin is very pleased because the people obeyed her. She says to say the rosary. What is Conchita's age today? I've been sharing these things with my Dad. We don't often verbally discuss it but we were at length tonight at dinner.
Thank you Glenn. He is quite impressed by the fact these events are to occur in her lifetime. It has been been my prayer that he lives through them. He turned 89 last Sunday.
Girls describe Mary and her voice The visionaries gave the following description of Our Lady: "She comes wearing a white robe, a blue mantle and a crown of golden stars; her hands are outstretched with a brown scapular, except when she has the Infant Jesus in her arms. Her dark chestnut hair is long and parted in the middle. Her face is rather long, with a very dainty nose. Her mouth is very pretty, with slightly full lips. TIME, while in ecstasy In the course of this particular vision—according to the eyewitness report mentioned—Mary Cruz spent the whole time kneeling on a sharp wedge of stone some two inches thick, without any sign of pain or discomfort. When the time came to say goodbye, they blew kisses into the air and opened and shut their hands in that expressive little wave of farewell so common in small children. But, first, they pleaded with the Vision not to leave so soon. "An hour already . . . ? Noooo! Only a second . . . An hour an a quarter . . . ? Noooo! Just a short while . . . But it must be, if you say so, 'cause you don't tell fibs." Conchita repeated the Virgin's words. "An hour and twenty-five minutes." Exactly the time the vision had lasted. Mary: (they) “ will believe in the end” The children were never worried and always certain of what they saw. They never argued or attempted to convince anyone, because they declared that the Blessed Virgin had told them repeatedly that "those who do not believe will believe in the end." Mary: “No I shall not speak” (August 4,1961 ) One bystander had a tape recorder and he showed it to the children. "If you see the Virgin again, tell her to speak into it." They were in the midst of this conversation, when they went into a rapture once more. Mary Loly, who had entered her trance before she had time to relinquish the microphone, held it up. "Go on; you speak, so people will believe . . ." she coaxed the Vision. "Why not? Go on. Say something, do . . ." At the end of the trance, they listened to the conversation recorded on the tape. Glenn, what was the prediction on the number of Popes to follow the apparitions and leading up to the Miracle? I have confused myself on this (I seem to remember 3 Popes to follow after Pope St. Paul VI: JPI, Pope St. JP II, and Pope Benedict). Could you please remind me/us? thanks.
Conchita said after the death of JohnXXIII , there would be 4 more popes ,”until the end of THE times” ,(NOT the end of all time, NOT the end of the Popes either ) meaning a new era begins. This is the era we are now in ( after the 4 popes Paul VI, JP I, JP II, Benedict ) it is now that we will experience the WARNING & MIRACLE . Albrecht Weber, the author of the book “The Finger of God“, had become involved in Garabandal in 1963 and became friendly with Conchita. On November 14, 1965, the day after the last apparition of Our Lady in Garabandal, Mr. Weber interviewed Conchita at her home in the presence of her mother. There was also present with Mr. Weber an interpreter. During that interview, it came out that when Conchita had spoken, on the very day that Pope John XXIII died, of “Three more Popes and then would come the end of the times,” her mother had asked her several questions. In response to one of her mother’s questions, Conchita responded that Our Lady had actually said that there would be FOUR MORE POPES but that She was not counting one of them. When Conchita’s mother heard that she strictly forbade Conchita to repeat that again as her mother feared there would be erroneous interpretations and much gossip. People might wrongly believe that one of the Popes might be false or bad, etc. During that conversation with her mother, Conchita also said that Our Lady had told her that one of the Popes would have a very short reign. (which turned out to be Pope John Paul I only 33 days ! )
Falling to their knees, on stones. “When the girls go into an ecstasy, they fall to their knees in a flash with crushing force. A film recording the moment of entering an ecstasy has been examined in slow motion, photograph by photograph, but the fall itself is not to be seen on a single frame. In a split second they pass from a normal standing position to their kneeling in ecstasy. How is it, one may well ask, that they can fall onto jagged stones and yet not come to any harm, and show no sign of pain? In one trance, Conchita walked through the streets of Garabandal on her knees. She was wearing long stockings. This video is a bit tedious to watch because the use of an interpreter imo but for those interested in the apparitions of Our Lady of Garabandal, I think that it is worth watching. Fr. José Luis Saavedra did his thesis on Our Lady of Garabandal and in this video he continues to express his desire for this apparition to be approved by the Church; and he explains why. In addition, imho this helps explain why the movie "Garabandal: Only God Knows" was made the way that it was. In all honesty, I was hoping for a movie like the "The Song of Bernadette", "The Miracle of Our Lady of Fatima" or "Fatima" which gives a fuller picture of those apparitions but with no budget and no true actors/actresses they did a pretty good job explaining why the apparition should be looked at by the Church again; and I really think that was their goal. In addition, this priest knows that time is running out because many of the eye witnesses have passed on and he states this in this video also. Thanks Carol for the video & comments. Yes I know Fr. Saavedra well, we communicated quite a bit last year when he needed answers to some questions he could not find, so I called Conchita.
