Vaccines are only partially effective-in healthy people they seem to reduce the severity of infection, but your mother is in the very highly-compromised category and would be at risk even from the milder Omicron strain. If you throw enough shite at a wall, some of it is bound to stick and hopefully your siblings, on cooler reflection, will at least take some of your advice on board. God bless you all.
Good to know that I'm not the only eccentric here . Sometimes I feel such a hypocrite when I read about people losing their jobs, or people with existing illnesses trying to resist. Being ostracised by loved ones is particularly hurtful. Not being vaccinated hasn't been very hard for me. I'm healthy enough for my age and have enough close family nearby that I'm unlikely to be totally ostracised. I doubt that any of those whose opinions I value would cut me off. More likely if they were under pressure or ashamed of me they'd let me know in no uncertain terms. Then they'd grudgingly stand by me and make it clear that if I weren't family they'd want nothing to do with me.. I'm guessing because that's how I would act with them but everyone's breaking point is different so the reality could turn out to be a great shock for me. Maybe they'd be more gracious or maybe they would disown me. Nobody ever really knows until the rubber meets the road.

My brother in law visited us last week and spent time trying persuading us to get the jab. A lady who was a neighbour died the previous week from covid and my brother in law was going on about the risk we were taking. He said she had got it from her daughter. The lady was in her 80's. He said her daughter was very upset. It turned out though that both were fully vaxed. Another neighbour died from covid. She was 69 and had even got the booster. She had been to a family wedding and 10 of the 50 guests contracted covid. She was the only fatility. A family member told me she was on some medication for an underlying condition and they figure it neutralised the vax. He was clutching at straws. The upshot of all this is I asked my brother in law why I should take a vaccine that has not delivered and one still has to mask, social distance etc. I notice we are not getting Christmas cards this year from our in laws who are very annoyed at us.
No fundamental difference but the vast majority of people being unaware of the ongoing and ever more depraved ties between the pharmaceutical and abortion industries doesn't excuse the enthusiasm and unqualified support from the Church for the vaccines and silence on the increasingly draconian laws by authorities to coerce compliance from the vaccine hesitant. The people lining up for vaccines aren't even given a choice between the most and least tainted vaccines. They get what is being administered on the day they are vaccinated. I'm afraid that the remote co-operation argument as it is currently being used is serving to perpetuate the evil that denies us early treatment for covid in the short term and ethical vaccines in the long term. I know how painfull is being treated like this by your own family. No other vaccine has ever divided people so much. The only truly catholic solution in this case is to pray deeply for our families and hope that our Lord Jesus Christ will come soon with His peace. The nature of this beast is such that we need Divine Intervention to counter it. Big Pharma has most of the medical profession and associated health-service administration, the great majority of the media, almost every politician and most religious leaders on its side, with varying degrees of knowledge and enthusiasm. You are right about the 'remote cooperation' argument in that, whereas the argument per se is sound, it is being hidden behind by most of the Church as a pretext to avoid confrontation with those to whom it does not apply. That the blame for this monstrous evil is not to be laid upon the ordinary powerless citizens is no reason to remain silent about those ghouls who have constructed this wicked System of Death, purportedly in the name of Life. If the leaders of the Church did their job, it might ameliorate much of the tension between those citizens who choose to be vaccinated and those who choose not to be, as the perceived burden of responsibility would be taken off their shoulders and focussed where it belongs.
This is amazing, (from my Australian perspective). The fact that medical officials would take into account the staff shortages and decide not to mandate the Jab for all hospitals and health care workers, is really a wonderful blessing for Ireland.! I believe this reprieve that Ireland has at this time, is due to the many prayers of Martyrs and Missionary's that Ireland sent to practically every nation of the world. They are keeping Ireland's citizens safe, at the moment. The absolute opposite stance (in regards to covid vaccine mandates) has been taken by every State health department in Australia! Even though they are witnessing massive staff shortages in hospitals and other health care facilities throughout Australia, And these State health officials, remain unfazed even by the extreme staff shortages! Not one State health department has any reservations regarding these mandate nor the subsequent staff shortages that it has caused, it's as if they are all singing from the same choir book; this in and of itself, is really strange! It makes one wonder, what power, is dictating this compliance and what incentives were offered to State officials to ensure complete adherence to vaccine mandates! The average Australian, who has refused the forced mandates, must do all we can to ensure that our freedoms are not taken without a fight, but conversely we must also be docile to the Lords leadings and accept His permissive Will. This takes discernment. Much like the discernment required in regards to the latest prohibitions of the TLM by the Vatican. Lord Have Mercy. I didn't hear it myself, but second-hand, but someone said that Brian Dobson interviewed a South African doctor on RTE radio today and attempted to run with a narrative of Omicron being a killer virus. Thankfully, the South African doctor seems to have been completely unintimidated and emphasised the mildness of the symptoms and that South African hospitals were being put under little extra strain. Do the media require a doomsday narrative for reasons of attracting more listeners/readers or is there genuine hysteria behind it owing to the pusillanimous fear of death induced by their collective atheism?

Blanket approval of remote co-operation appears not to be justified for this pandemic.
Sounds like the South African doctor's honesty could be a stumbling block to the push for "vaccine equality". They're obsessed with vaccinating the world before the virus mutates to a strain no more severe than the common cold. A lack of clean drinking water probably causes far more deaths than covid in Africa. The world's powers haven't managed to solve that problem, so they'll vaccinate Africa instead.
Have you noticed the tone of voice of the RTÉ newsreaders goes up several decibels when they start to report on Covid. It's all done to induce panic. Personally I am now allergic to anything on RTÉ and I have taken to watching BBC. My republican ancestors must be turning in their graves.
I don't watch any TV news including Fox. They are all pushing the same message--breathless and intense. I am SO over it.
There is something so very strange that it is happening in Australia. It reminds me of Nazi Germany in the 1930's when everyone went cray about the poor old Jews. Everything was the Jews fault, the economy, Germany getting beaten in the Great War, the decline in Moral Standards, perceived failures in Culture...it's the Jews, the Jews, the Jews. Why did this happen? Because Germans were afraid. Their economy had collapsed, they had lost a war and appeared to be falling down a dark hole. They were terrified. They needed a Saviour and something to blame. The answer; Hitler and kill the Jews. In Australia it's a lockdown, vaxing, Fascist Government and blame the unvaxed.
