In my era, we didn’t question any of it.”' The extraordinary thing about Nanci Pelosi was that she educated by Catholic nuns at an elite school who taught her these things. This would have been yonks and yonks ago so the rot must have really set in even back then.

It's hard to beat the trilogy of Lord of the Rings. I did read other books but Lord of the Rings nailed it for me.
I see Amazon are releasing a film series based on Robert Jordan's Fantasy, 'Wheel of Time', novels. I read them all. The Aes Sedai in it reminds me of nuns. But I would not say it is very spiritual though.
It's funny how many ardent Socialists and Radicals, like Nanci Pelosi come from really rich, elite backgrounds. Karl Marx for instance was sponsored by the fabulously rich Phillips (the Dutch electrical folks) family. Lenin , Trotsky and company were sponsored by the German Government. AOC is another case in point pampered well taken care of upbringing.
That’s not how she likes to portray herself. In her mind she is a person from the people that was a struggling bartender and on her own went door to door to be elected.
Well she is very smart, I'll hand that to her and very very hard working politically. But what is the point of it all if you don't believe in God? You can only be the blind leading the blind. The sames goes for Conservatives who do not believe in God too. The blind leading the blind.
It is a metaphor for the 20th 21st century. Tolkien framed the battles clearly and succinctly. It is Catholic down to its very bones.
Yes Padraig. True. In a way it is a sober warning for us all. "Let a man take heed lest he should fall." No matter how firm we stand in our own eyes we are so easily seduced away from the narrow path. I've lived it. Its only by God's grace and the relentless care of Our Holy Mother that I have been able to keep going in the right direction. Wealth and power are a curse. How hard for a rich man to enter heaven. I don't have these things and good thing I don't. I don't want the earth's trappings beyond what God supplies. Such a hideous temptation. Fool 's gold.
How would you rate these books Padraig? One of my kids is into fantasy fiction and has read most of Tolkien's books. I am looking for other similar books, but LOTR is hard to beat!
My Spiritual Director used to give off to me about the books I read. I would read about two or three or more books a week. I would read anything I could open. There is a truly wonderful French Canadian Author of Fantasy whose main characters seem to be always ethnically Catholic for instance French Canadian, Irish American and so on always with a strong Catholic ethos. I read and reread these several times. Actually it is many years since I reread them . Let me see if I can recall the names of these books and their author. They would adore them..let me see..so many years... I would love to read them again myself...let me see...
This is a whole series of books it is very important to read them in order. I am sure you child will read them in order, I have not got the time to sort them all, it wil ltake them several months to read them all, I suppose, let me know how they get on. I think this is the first one..but there is another series as well on something simliar, but i Think start with this one:
