Yes me too. We must take into account how so called "progressives" hate the traditional Latin Mass. Hate it. Fr Heilman's uncle, a priest and mentor, stopped speaking to him when Fr Heilman began to embrace the TLM. Malachi Martin in his interviews with Bernard Janzen speaks of this hatred. Why such venom? It is hard not to draw certain conclusions.

A priest i greatly revered who has since died--God rest his soul--who was asked by our then bishop to say the TLM in our diocese many years ago used to plead with us to be charitable and to refrain ftom harsh criticisms of the NO. Nearly begged us. I am sad to say that some "trads" have given ammunition to prelates who want an end to the TLM. Not saying it is right to do this terrible thing. Just saying that some traditional Catholics have unwittingly given these prelates ammunition. Taylor Marshall pleads with us to be charitable and full of joy. Not to be bitter and angry.

This is a very great crisis.

The very soul of Catholicism is at stake.

The Church has become polarised under this Pope - we have the German wing apostates with their synodal reforms rejecting Catholic dogma and now we have TLM Catholics shafted and thrown out into the wilderness. We have a Church where the majority of priests surrendered to covid mandates and refused to feed the flock.

Under Francis the Mass is not an 'essential service' but getting a vaccine is.

    A mess an unholy mess.

Hard to believe one man could make such a mess.

But he will be 'dust' soon and the Church will survive, smaller and holier.

We need to avoid using the Mass as a weapon.

In the long run, human nature being what it is, this will only inspire curiosity among the faithful who come to wonder what it is about this version of the Mass that causes Popes to oppose one another, even as they both live.

The surviving, if any, ageing supporters of this clericalist, hippy-era pope can have no grounds to complain in the future if the reverser is reversed.

Its hard to ignore the suspicipn that this is meant to expel devout Catholics from the Church of Nice. In other words pressuring devout Catholics into schism. Increasing the pressure incrementally. What comes next? An "updated" Mass that is no longer valid? I fear it. Then we really must head to the catacombs. To quote the lovely holy elderly monk/priest I try to see for confession as often as I can--"soon we will have to go underground"

In Preston, Lancashire for the past year at least, the Canons of The Institute Of Christ The King Sovereign Priest, along with the Jesuits , have to my knowledge been the only priests hearing Confessions as well as visiting the sick.

I myself was enrolled into the Confraternity Of The Brown Scapular yesterday evening, following Benediction, at the invitation of Canon Cristofoli, the Rector of Saint Walburge's, Preston which is under the auspices of ICKSP.

It was the most beautiful of summer evenings. The light from the setting sun streamed into the church, illuminating the statue of Our Blessed Mother as I knelt before her.

I have been praying a lot more lately for Her intercession on my behalf when I leave this life, and I take yesterday's events as an answer to my prayers.

No doubt Our Lady of Mt Carmel arranged all of this in answer to your prayers. :)

We just keep on, keeping on...somehow. And I think we will endure this, without schism. There might be a certain amount of projection here from the modernist progressives. After all, this latter faction has always been the one that chose schism and assumes we can be driven to it. Let us not give them the satisfaction, but let's show them we don't take the easy way out.

I think schism much more likely to occur when the German heretics do not get their way and they seem to be going so far out on a limb that even Pope Francis will be unable to accommodate them.

This latest news is truly disheartening. There is some consolation though in knowing that this has been allowed from Heaven. We are being tested. When it all comes down, we will have very little left except our Rosary beads.

On the positive side, the way you make Catholicism grow is by trying to smash it. Time and again governments have tried to destroy it and it has never worked. From the Romans to the Chinese. For a time it may appear effective, but in the end it always leads to a growing of the faith. Like planting a seed. It may take a little while, but in the end the seed will rise up into a mighty tree. I think a seed has just been planted.

Yes, Julia, Taylor Marshall cautioned his listeners to be charitable as well as faithful, but the negativity of many of the replies will just be used by others as fodder to highlight the "divisiveness" of the Trads.

This scenario is a no-win situation and the TLM Mass could be in its death throes if this motu proprio is fully implemented.

I have to say this is the reason I took so long to try the TLM. A few years back I joined a group on FB for moms who attend the Latin Mass, because I was interested in it. I just silently observed the conversations to learn from them, and on a daily basis I saw so much condemnation and condescension toward Novus Ordo Catholics, it really put me off. The prevailing opinion there was that every Novus Ordo Catholic was practicing contraception, enjoying drums and guitar at Mass, and knew nothing about their Faith. There was no sympathy or understanding, either, just condescension, and a sense that they were doing everything right.

I had to really take a leap of faith to still try the TLM after that, because I was concerned that the fruits of this Mass was producing people like that and was afraid of being tempted to the same spiritual pride and lack of charity. I still wonder sometimes, as I see all the reverent, big happy families around me at Mass, if they feel about Novus Ordo Catholics the way the women in that group did.

The TLM should be revered for its own sake, not deployed as an intra-ecclesiastical weapon. The latter attitude would be wholly wrong, perhaps sacriligious.
