Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barret once again kick the can down the road, this time on transgenderism. A complex and scholarly article.

A Telling Moment, Foregone - The Catholic Thing

    ...

It came as an announcement about a matter on which the Court has deliberately chosen not to speak. The Court would not take up the Grimm case, a critical test case on transgenderism. Gavin Grimm, in high school in Gloucester County, Virginia, objected to the policy of her high school, in requiring that students use the bathroom reserved for their own sex.

    ...

What gave her and her backers the leverage for pressing the case anew was the decision written a year ago by Justice Neil Gorsuch in the now famous Bostock case: Gorsuch found an implausible authority in the Civil Rights of 1964 to judge that Anthony Stephens had suffered a discrimination based on “sex” when he lost his job at the Harris funeral homes. His employers and their clients did not relish the moment of grieving as a moment of political theater with a male attendant who insisted on presenting himself as a woman.

This is important... the head of this organization is Stephen Mosher, he has been on Fox but I've know little of this "Population Research Institute", it is a pro-life organization.... and this came out today, it seems important.

I saw this on Rorate's site today. I don't like to give credence to these sort of speculations however a call for prayers is in order.

URGENT - PRAYERS! - Highly Reliable Source says Motu Proprio against Summorum could be published this Friday

We have learned from a source that is usually highly reliable that Francis’ attack on Summorum Pontificum is signed & is expected to be promulgated this Friday.

Perhaps prayers from the Faithful around the world - even at this late stage - to Our Lady of Mt Carmel, will avert a disaster.

Our Lady of Mt Carmel, we beseech thee to stop these attacks on your Son's traditional Church....yet Christ's will be done. We know & fully trust his plan, though the unfolding finds us unsettled as we watch the steps & process unfold. Bless us with your grace & peace during this very uncomfortable time!

I thought this was interesting... and sad too, this apparently happened in MN, this "Line 3" seems to be oil pipeline. Okay, of course, I believe people have a right to protest what they don't believe in but this may be a bit different IF they are getting paid which this appears to be happening. "Hubbard County".

Line 3 protesters are being bailed out with duffel bags full of cash
A Hubbard County sheriff said $52,000 in cash was once brought in to bail out protesters.

Line 3 protesters are being bailed out of jail with duffel bags stashed with cash, according to a Hubbard County sheriff who has witnessed it multiple times.

Hundreds of protesters have been arrested across the state after locking themselves to construction equipment, trespassing, and damaging property on site at Enbridge’s Line 3 oil pipeline replacement project. Last week in Aitkin County, several out-of-state protesters were arrested after placing spikes in access roads, with the sole intent of damaging the tires and property of county residents.

In Hubbard County, Sheriff Cory Aukes said Line 3 protesters have been bailed out “time and time again” by people who bring in thousands of dollars in cash.

Fleeing hardship at home, bias abroad, Venezuelans flock to ... (trust.org)

Whether one likes twitter or not, my impression of it is not too favorable....except, if you work at it, you can get insights to things that go on in the world, really, I have learned so much about Venezuela, some of the real trials these people face, details, to a lesser extent, also about Syria, Myanmar, Libya, Iran.

This and a few others have been helpful for Venezuela, one concern of hers has been to take care of street animals, mainly dogs, some cats....they talk of blackouts, sometimes, the gang fighting on the streets (this does not happen often but it has happened), helping people get medicines....other things, she was selling "pizzas congelados" which I think are frozen pizzas. And all in all, she seems to keep up good spirits. Abogado, Lawyer?? but selling pizzas. Anyway, she's a very kind person. Big animal lover.

Serious happenings in Cuba: Jesús Medina Ezaine on Twitter: "Cuba, ciudadanos hacen retroceder a la policia con piedras. A pesar del bloqueo de internet que mantiene el régimen Cubano, siguen saliendo imágenes de la situación del levantamiento social en este país caribeño. https://t.co/SimS7qocsm" / Twitter (and one can always use "translate" as well, very serious in Cuba, the cops back away from the protesters). This too: Yusnaby Pérez on Twitter: "HOY | Los uniformados castristas reprimen al pueblo cubano desarmado y pacífico que pide LIBERTAD en las calles de Cuba. #SOSCuba https://t.co/nW3r36Um0V" / Twitter It's really breaking down in Cuba and I haven't followed the news that closely.

I've got to say, I followed an attractive woman politician in Ireland on twitter, she might have gotten booted off of twitter. She was or is a journalist, I liked her but I still think, maybe she is a bit too much into conspiracies which, if kicked off of twitter, is the reason why.

'The Infodemic': Ireland's weak far-right hopes to gain from online conspiracies and misinformation (thejournal.ie)

And they want stricter controls on immigration, that was a big deal with her. Be careful who you let in.

I have a friend in Lithuania, Eastern Europe, I know his aunt immigrated to Ireland.

This twitter censorship, abhorrent, is not only in the US, I think this woman I follow in Peru was probably booted from twitter. I myself, don't engage too much in offensive statements. I often tweet people I agree with. I don't have much of a following, I wonder, how it is that one of my few followers is from South Africa and fairly often, retweets what I retweet?? Huh?

Cuba Protests Trigger Venezuela Reprisal Against Guiado, Opposition

Could protests spark back up in Venezuela?

The protests taking place in Cuba against the Cuban dictatorship have generated demonstrations in the United States, showing support for the Cuban people and the movement. However, Republicans and Democrats find themselves at odds yet again regarding the response to Venezuela’s own dictatorship as Maduro’s regime begins its reprisal against Guaido and his opposition party.

In a tweet, Florida Senator Marco Rubio (R) shared that the Venezuelan dictatorship has been closely watching the protests taking place in Cuba, which has resulted in kidnapping oppositional leaders so as not to face the same response from the Venezuelan people. In turn, Rubio shared that it’s disappointing to see the Biden administration attempt to remove sanctions while the dictatorship is trying to silence individuals seeking democracy for the country.

“At the very moment the Maduro Regime was abducting one prominent member of the opposition & surrounding the home Juan Guaido trying to abduct him the Biden Administration was announcing it was removing a sanction on the regime in Venezuela,” Rubio reported.

I just got word today that a friend of ours passed away from cancer this morning. This was his second battle with cancer having had a completely different cancer around 15 years ago. We found out about this new cancer around a month ago and we are quite shocked about this news today but God is in charge. If I could ask all of you who read this post to say a quick prayer for Rick, his wife and two daughters. Thank you all so much. +
