I wonder about that myself, Dolours. I try not to think too far ahead and just be grateful that receiving on the tongue is still the norm.

Yep. I agree. Culling the mass has got to be a major and significant goal of the NWO.. And what a loss to the people of the earth, to our spiritual defence......

God is not mocked. We are his children , the sheep of His pasture. He sees this.

Our diocese recommended Eucharistic reception in the hand only, but our priest stated last week that he thinks that hands come in contact with too many germs/dirt and that he is okay with reception on the tongue. We are so blessed to have this priest!!

Like Adoremus pointed out, it is interesting that they don’t have second thoughts about passing the collection basket! Hmm...priorities...

After my son’s baseball games, they’re going to start bumping elbows with the other team instead of giving high fives. No one seems to care that the kids can pass germs by touching the same baseball all throughout the game. Oh well. I guess this will be the new norm for awhile.

    Your priest is exceptional!
Yes, we are irrational about some of these guidelines

Call me crazy, but I’m not worried about getting this virus. If it’s going to get you, it will. When you’re number is up. It’s up.
All I want is the sacraments before I head into eternal life.

That said, I don’t want to starve to death:eek:

Julia Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us.

Why are they picking on the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. What about pubs, clubs, restaurants, cinema, Theatre, hotels, Mosques! other religious gatherings, even the big buck boys who claim to be pastoring the masses in these big venues, I think they call themselves evangelists.

Something very odd is going on, and I hope to God we are not banned from attending Holy Mass and fulfilling our obligation to Almighty God by attending Holy Mass on a Sunday or Holiday of Obligation. Without the Holy Mass, the world WILL be in danger of destruction. Of course God can preserve enough human life to start over again like in the times of Noah. God has all eternity to fill Heaven with souls to make up for the number of fallen angels, that is not a problem for our Creator. But what is the Hierarchy thinking to buy into this germ theory. Historically, Mass and Eucharist was never known to cause disease and death. In fact the faithful were brought together to pray and petition Almighty God to end plagues. Our Lady has said prayer will put a stop to wars and no doubt plague, all we have to do is ask. I believe, dear God is permitting these scares to wake up those who have turned their back on Him. Dear God does not want to see so many souls damned for all eternity, and they refuse to believe their sinful behaviour is damning their souls. Now, dear God is permitting the necessary chaos that shows a taste of hell on earth to wake up the woke , along with the sinners before mankind annihilates themselves through greed and lust under the influence of the devil.

But what about us poor people caught in the middle? What about those of us who are EXACTLY 50? We don't even get a mention! Do we not matter!?!

    (Sorry, I couldn't resist lol)

It truly is a wake up call from God, look at how quickly this unfolded. Coronavirus was the perfect opportunity to cause panic, and deprive the faithful of Holy Mass. It is a sign that this happened in Italy.
Yes, no mention of the other big churches, or mosques closing down. All we can do is beg God for mercy.

We have the same problem in Austria. Although the hand communion can legally only be recommended as a preference and on tongue communion cannot be refused, some priests will still refuse it. In that case it is preferable to do a 'Spiritual Communion':
At Thy feet, O my Jesus, I prostrate myself, and I offer Thee the repentance of my contrite heart,
which is humbled in its nothingness and in Thy holy presence. I adore Thee in the Sacrament of Thy love, the ineffable Eucharist.
I desire to receive Thee into the poor dwelling that my heart offers Thee.
While waiting for the happiness of sacramental Communion, I wish to possess Thee in spirit.
Come to me, O my Jesus, since I, for my part, am coming to Thee! The love embrace my whole being in life and in death.
I believe in Thee, I hope in Thee, I love Thee. Amen

I believe this is the first time since St. Peter arrived in Rome that all Masses have been banned by the Church.

“The devil has always attempted, by means of heretics, to deprive the world of the Mass, making them precursors of antichrist, who before anything else, will try to abolish and will actually abolish the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, as a punishment for the sins of men, according to the prediction of Daniel, ‘And strength was given him against the continual sacrifice.”

Yes, public Masses have been banned, but the priests can still offer the Mass can't they?

Yes. ETA has a post on this thread which says that priests can offer private Masses in Italy

From my understanding a priest is bound to say mass daily, if only for themselves even.
