Thank you Arby. I have the sanitisers, latex gloves and disinfectant wipes but I'm confused about the zinc lozenges. Are they ordinary lozenges for sore throats? I've never heard of Cold-Eze so don't know whether there's an equivalent here. I'm confused, too, on the part about the only way the virus can enter the body being through the nose or mouth. Nearly every report I have seen or read says that it also can enter through the eyes. Is that incorrect? Incidentally, one of the speculated reasons for Italy having a high death rate is that 23% of their population is over 65 years of age.

Be careful with zinc. Check the amount. Also many multi vitamins already contain zinc...don't over dose Too much can cause toxic effects.
zinc lozenges are not proven: you can choose to ignore virus can enter through eyes: apparently an omission also death rate goes up as hospitals are overwhelmed: less percentage of people infected being able to get care.... If Italy was getting 200,000 or more with virus, then death rate would zoom, as of now it is only a tiny fraction of that.
I don't know if you noticed this video I posted it might contain something very helpful to help prevent the virus very cheaply and easily. I am going to try this. The video is from a hundred year old lady from the US State of Alabama who was ten years old when the 1918 Spanish Flu hit their tiny little town in the sticks. They were a very devout Christian and I would say holy family, very ,very charitable. They were the only family in the entire town not to get smitten and between them they nursed over 200 residents back to health! Awesome! If they had not done so the entire place might have been wiped out!! But this lady says the reason why she thinks her family escaped the virus was that their mother gave them a half spoonful of Bicarbonate of soda miked up with water each Morning! She said this changed the bodies chemistry to be more Alkaline and stopped the virus dead in its tracks. I am certainly going to try this. So cheap and easy!! Anyway her story is so very,very touching.
We are going to a place called Sugar Hill. I have no idea where it is. My husband says its 3 hours from us. We are meeting an old peace corps friend of his who is in the states only for a short time before going back to England. Thanks for the info.

My multivitamin only has 20% of the daily requirement of zinc. I’m getting the lozenges. Also, the bicarbonate of soda idea is solid.
This 'no big deal ' message is very troubling. If this virus was no worse than the regular flu, why have we seen so many videos of people passing out on the streets; you don't see this with seasonal flu even in China.
It’s hard to know what is true and what is fake and hyped up, right now. China is China. It is what it is. I still maintain this is a bio weapon gone awry and probably even the Chinese don’t know how to deal with it. Think of how Wuhan is a really big crowded city, and how fast this illness exploded there and moved on. I vacillate between your concern, Jo, and a somewhat more skeptical mindset, but that’s because it’s not in my area yet! We won’t know everything until this virus goes away. We may never know everything about it, but our statistics will give an overall picture of how people were affected. People may not be dropping in the streets from the seasonal flu, but it has a death rate which has been established. Don’t forget, not everyone dies from an attack of the corona virus.
I had a surprise talking to a relative yesterday. He has a senior Government post, is a very well educated an a practicing Catholic. I mentioned the virus to him and he simply laughed, considering the whole thing a nonsense and a joke saying that the whole thing was a crazy panic. I didn't argue with him; he was so convinced of what he said I could see I would only be wasting my breath. But it did take me aback quite a lot. I think the big thing that alerted me to all this right from the start was reading the Signs of the Times; as Jesus advised. My reading is that the whole world has turned from God big time and was then due to get hit big time. Otherwise I might well have laughed and considered it all a nonsense too. But I don't . Not at all. But it's true as Fr Mark suggests that we're all going to die one way or another sooner or later and that it is where we go afterwards that really counts and that as St John says love casts out fear. But even so I am surprised some people consider all this so lightly, as though it were some kind of hoax.
The Government in S Korea had a really great idea. It is an App everyone downloads on their phone. If you're coming near a virus black spot it bleeps and warns you and tells you why you should avoid it.
A client of mine who is a doctor is very concerned about this especially since it could take 10-14 days since you came in contact with the virus before you even show symptoms. Think about all the people out there now that are infected and spreading the virus and they don't even know it yet.

It's just awful, you really don't know who to believe any longer. I'm just plugging away looking for sensible recommendations that could prove helpful. I went out on a quest for the zinc lozenges this morning, and I had to visit five stores before I finally found the last two boxes at one of the markets. I did notice that panic buying has set in; shelves were pretty bare. I kept thinking about that big jug of hand sanitizer that Padraig purchased... he was a smart cookie!
