Knowing Fr. Martin was involved with this production makes me uneasy. Especially this: 'Father Martin's role in the first episode seems to be to demonstrate that Mary was a feminist. When she was asked by the angel to become the Mother of God, Martin explains, “...she doesn't ask her husband or her father. She answers on her own. So this is a very strong woman.” Is Fr. Martin telling us that Our Blessed Mother was the Gloria Steinem of her day? Does he actually have the audacity to refer to Mary, who was so humble from her very childhood, a feminist? Sadly this appears to be the case. Wow! Not to mention the resident skeptic, Dr. Cargill, who enjoys interpreting history to suit himself. Thank you for sharing this, Carol. I normally enjoy watching documentaries on the History channel, but after reading this article, I'm not so sure about this series.
https://www.lifesitenews.com/blogs/...claim-diversity-of-religions-is-willed-by-god This is a perfect example of duplicity: To personally tell Bishop Schneider that the questionable passage in the joint Catholic-Muslim Abu Dhabi statement should be understood only in the sense of God's permissive Will, and then disseminate the unclarified statement to universities to be promoted as is. Confusion! Lord have Mercy!
Back on 2/13/17 the thread, Alice in "Amoris Laetitia" Land was begun. The second post quotes scholar Anna M. Silvas as saying this about ambiguity: In the rest of the chapter Pope Francis changes tack. He makes an inverted admission that his approach may leave "room for confusion" (n. 308). To this he responds with a discussion of "mercy". I thought, "How can a Pope ever personally acknowledge something he wrote as confusing and then allow it to stand?" Garabandal then commented in post 4: ...Sobering reading. AL was written deliberately to be an ambiguous document. No one can argue that it is not ambiguous (or they can but they would be wrong). Why a deliberately ambiguous document? To allow an agenda for change through the back door. Here we are over two years later. I never thought ambiguity could be used so effectively as a weapon of division. Safe in the Refuge of the Immaculate Heart!
Scary, isn’t it? Thanks to the Holy Spirit for enlightening our hearts and minds to the truth. And thanks to Our Lady.
Mario, Good post. Do you think that Pope Francis may truly want to eliminate the hierarchy of the Church? Every time I see those videos of him literally pulling his hand away from those who wanted to kiss his ring recently and pay respect to the office that he holds makes me wonder about this. He is not reaffirming that the Church is One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic, in fact, he is doing just the opposite by allowing bishops around the world to make various changes. I really think that this may be his goal, to reduce the power of the Chair of Peter. Ultimately, I don't think that he will be successful but I think that is what he is trying to do. I am interested to hear your thoughts about this. Thank you.
Carol, I wouldn't use quite those words, but I'll wait until Pope Francis' Exhortation on last Fall's Youth Synod is published (very soon) before I comment. His purpose in initiating these synods (another one this Fall) should be much more discernible after reading it. I certainly believe there is an interconnected agenda. Safe in the Barque of Peter!
We have no idea when the end will come. This short video took my breath away. Fr. Kevin M. Cusick, LCDR (Ret.) Retweeted Brother Jérôme ☩ @Thomist_Al Mar 29 In 1992, Fr Gastón Hurtubise died while preaching in a conference in Ottawa. His last words, in French were: "God is ready to give you and me forgiveness, and desires to open His Heart to eternal joy on Him. Thank You, Lord." Then he immediately fell on the floor dead. https://twitter.com/i/status/1111691695916236801
Very moving. The priest who retweeted: Fr Kevin Cusick is a priest in the Washington diocese who is retired military He has permission to offer the TLM He is pastor of St Francis de Sales in Southern Maryland. I’m still reeling from the video. Thanks for posting, Djm
You're welcome, HH. I was very moved by this moment that God called his priest home. I follow Fr. Cusick on twitter and he's one of my favorites.
I follow him as well. I agree with you, I was very moved as well. How quickly and suddenly. And completely. Rest In Peace, Father H.
Fr Kevin, as he’s known, has been saying the TLM at the National Shrine on the First Fridays for the past few months. The Mass was started for Catholic University students. It’s at 4 pm and that is a heavy traffic time so I haven’t driven up there for that, although I’m still thinking about it. It’s crazy traffic, lots of heavy trucks in industrial zones and buses and changing lanes. I would need a Latin Mass after dealing with that PS Let’s not forget dodging pothole repair crews
Is ambiguity of God or the devil? There are no other options, no third way. It is one or the other. Our yes is to be yes, our no to be no. "...that which is over and above these, is of evil". From Douay-Rheims, Matthew 5:37-the direct words of The Lord Jesus Christ. My, my, are they trying to drive us to sola scriptura, by default?
Hey everyone, here is a recent interview with Bishop Schneider on his meeting with the Pope. I haven't listened to the entire thing, but I thought others here might like to listen. Also it is from a Youtube site called Virgin Most Powerful Radio. I never ran across it before, but I took a quick listen to a few of their shows and it seems pretty orthodox. So here is a link to the rest of their videos for any who want to check them out: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1B0LNO3Tk0kofJ4wCbVNvw/videos
I'm only 16 minutes into the above youtube interview with Bishop Athanasius and have heard the terms ambiguity and confusion numerous times. To me, this is a sure sign of satanic influence and manipulation in the Vatican! Mercy, Lord, mercy! Maybe we need an another descriptive word to avoid this repetition! doublespeak- is language that deliberately obscures, disguises, distorts, or reverses the meaning of words. Doublespeak may take the form of euphemisms (e.g. "downsizing" for layoffs, "servicing the target" for bombing), in which case it is primarily meant to make the truth sound more palatable.
Pope criticizes building walls to keep migrants out ABOARD THE PAPAL PLANE, March 31 (Reuters) - Pope Francis said on Sunday that political leaders who want walls and other barriers to keep migrants out "will end up becoming prisoners of the walls they build". The pope made his comments to reporters aboard the plane returning from Morocco in response to a question about migration in general and about U.S. President Donald Trump's threat to shut down the southern border with Mexico. "Builders of walls, be they made of razor wire or bricks, will end up becoming prisoners of the walls they build," he said. ........"I realize that with this problem (of migration), a government has a hot potato in its hands, but it must be resolved differently, humanely, not with razor wire," the Argentine-born pope said on the plane. Addressing Moroccan leaders on Saturday, Francis said that problems of migration would never be resolved by physical barriers but instead required social justice and correcting the world's economic imbalances. .......He said wealthy countries should help eliminate the root causes of migration such as poverty, war and political instability. Migrants should be accepted, protected and integrated and if a country cannot handle the numbers, the migrants should be distributed among other countries, he said. http://news.trust.org/item/20190331212427-5ij7c
