Let me rewrite this.... Trump stood up to an evil man who used chemical weapons on his own people. He may have won me over today.
The Syrians are wining. Assad is winning. ISIS are on the cusp of defeat. Why would Assad & Syrians use chemical weapons when they are in such a strong position?
The devil is the Prince of this world. He was a liar and a murderer from the beginning. Those who have power in this world are at his service; if they weren't they would not be where the are. I have been thinking a lot recently about George Orwell's book, '1984', which was highly prophetic. One of the things he said was that the worlds powers would eventually coalesce into major blocks which would compete against each other. The fact that we happen to be members of one of these blocks does not make us either the, 'Good guys' or the, 'Bad guys'. We just happen to be members of a particular football team. My spiritual director told me one time if I wanted to know what is going down in the world to stay away from the media for a few months and simply pray about it all. So I did. It has left my utterly cynical about the lies we are constantly fed, from all quarters.
I too am utterly cynical about what we are being told. I wish I could remember who said this but he was talking about people who go to Washington with ideals but before long they are compromised—through blackmail or bribes or promises of power. Then he said about 98%of US congress and senate are like this. SAD. No wonder nothing ever gets done. They are puppets with strings. That leads back to the deep state! Is it any wonder that Pres Trump is so savagely attacked and threatened?their comfy sinecures are threatened. I give him credit for trying to clean up this mess. I pray he succeeds.

This is agonizing. I hate to sound like Pilate but what is truth? Mattis says there is unequivocal proof that Assad did this. He is an honorable man respected for his integrity. On the other hand we know the deep state is capable of trying to provoke war to attain their ends. And where is Israel in all this? My head spins. “Only in God will my soul be at rest...” and good advice from scripture “place not your trust in princes..”
At least one of the three targets was a research and development center for chemical weapons and I believe the others may have been at the level of the components which still have to be assembled. But such strikes would interrupt this chain of production of future weapons and delay at least their use. Seems like Assad has a certain dependency on these weapons since his own supplies of other weaponry isn't that strong. And I doubt if Russia wishes to get that involved in such major support which would ask for a lot of monetary investment of which they're lacking....why Putin permits Assad to still make use of such horrendous choices and Assad is his current ticket to his foothold in the ME. And Assad doesn't want to give Putin the idea that he's giving more power to him in that region so he uses what he still has regardless of Putin's thinking.
For one thing, Assad, worse than his father, is a thug and bully. The place he bombed, once again with his choice of chemical weapons with which he has a history of using, btw, was rebel held and a suburb of Damascus. So he went where he could regardless of collateral damage. It appears that afterwards those rebels gave up so Assad got his satisfaction. Why anyone thinks there are still any angels remaining in that entire region, now entered into and abetted by a world super power, Russia, is beyond me. And Russia is there to stay, via Assad at the moment, assisting Iran in its nuke goals, enhancing terrorist support against Israel, etc. And it's all spilled out of Syria as certain prophecies have predicted....and thanks to the evil Obama.
