From a Catholic perspective, there are similarities between the British Labour Party and the US Democratic Party. Both were a natural fit for Catholics, especially poorer Catholics, in respect of social justice policies at a time when almost everyone believed in God and the right to life. Both were hijacked by the far left who turned abortion and contraception into a sacrament and any kind of sexual deviancy or depravity into an option or even acceptable as normal. And in both parties, Catholics gradually abandoned any religious beliefs which didn't fit their political beliefs. And the British Conservative party which traditionally represented the English Anglican elite Rule Britannia types had their own version of RINOs paying lip service to issues of morality but protecting their financial interests at all costs. I don't think there is a genuine political option for Catholics in Britain. As long as the Evangelicals remain strongly opposed to abortion and continue to attribute some value to the traditional family, the Republican Party will be the better option for American Catholics going forward. Sad to say that it's the Evangelicals who have taken up the mantle for the innocent unborn as the Catholics continue to prevaricate about whether the right the life is as fundamental as the right to state funded anti life policies.
Well said I heard someone on an alt news site here "I am not a Republican. I am not a democrat. I am a child of God. The battle is between good and evil and I vote with God. That is basically how I vote. For now it is often with republicans. The democrats are dead to me. I have no home there. Many Republicans sadly are not prolife either. Every election is a research event.
.. I like to tell people I am neither republican not democrat but Catholic and Traditional at that. Many times they simply do not know how to reply and feebly attempt to ridicule the idea of such a thing. Sadly, in the US we have been betrayed more insidiously by the party of the conservatives than the Liberals IMO. The Liberals we always knew where they stood once they decidedly took up the mantle of murdering innocents. They were the face of the enemy given to us if you will. The conservative party however has taken great pains to remain the minority party in the US and while paying lip service to conservative ideals has time and again deliberately withheld their efforts against the enemy and taken up their mantle against those who attempt to return us to reason. A large portion of the Clergy as well has turned against us, In fact, it reminds me a great deal of the times of Christ because we are living under an occupation. Marxist ideals has absolutely dominated America with its evils and our Government now intentionally use them to further corrupt the world and damn souls to hell.
I agree Don. I feel I got conned with the Bushes. I think prolife Catholics have been jerked around by republicans.
What saddens me most about the Catholic hierarchy is their apparent lack of trust in God. There's a lukewarmness about them which is downright depressing. It's probably the same across what once was the Christian world. The Evangelicals could teach them a thing or two about zeal for the faith and trust in God. The Catholic Church isn't losing members to the walking dead Lutheran and Anglican Churches. They're losing members to various strands of Evangelicalism especially in Latin America. There have been reports, too, that the reason the Vatican is so desperate to sign a deal with China is that the Evangelicals are becoming the dominant Christian denomination there among the Churches not allied to the Communist government. Sometimes the Catholic faithful show more trust in God than their shepherds. Could Cardinal Dolan's recent statement about the Democratic Party having abandoned Catholics be a sign that he is trying to catch up with the faithful after years of the US Catholic Bishops pandering to the faithless as represented by the likes of Fr. James Martin? If faithful Catholics got their act together and voted as a block, they could have the politicians paying attention to them rather than ridiculing them. It looks like that's what happened in the Presidential election and Cardinal Dolan just woke up and smelled the coffee.
All this is true Dolours. The Evangelicals really love God and they are not shy about witnessing. There is a fire in them that I believe comes from the Holy Spirit. People who want God going there because they see Him there. That is the tragedy—that they do t see Him in the tabernacles of the Catholic Church. This must wound our Lord.
If Catholics (especially our clergy) don't believe that Jesus is in our tabernacles, what hope is there of convincing non-Catholics? It's nigh impossible for a person to share a faith they don't have.
It’s come to the point, in my opinion, where many of the faithful are beginning to realise that we cannot reconcile our faith with the traditional political views our parents held (politics has been infiltrated - just like the banks). This is a massive, massive shift. If the faithful cannot vote the way of our parents, then who do we vote for? In turn, which political party advocates the views of the faithful politically? Here in Ireland - both north and south, there doesn’t seem to be such a party? In America the faithful cannot vote Democrat because of their leftist agenda. Whilst many would argue the same is true of the republicans given their views on war-mongering and such. Essentially the faithful - in all conscience, cannot vote for anyone. We are outsiders now. We should expect a more overt attack from here.....
This is exactly where I am at, Don, as well. Would never vote Democrat as I do not want to cooperate in their promotion of abortion and gay marriage. And while Republicans give good lipspeak to protecting the unborn and preserving traditional values, when the rubber hits the road, they far too often tuck tail and cave. I am not a member of a political party because my position on these issues are fully informed and consistent with my faith. This means I disagree with both parties, but when I vote, the swinging factor is abortion .... which is pure evil and without a moral equivalent when weighing the issues. But as Padraig and so many have said on so many occasion here, our issues are not a political problem but a spiritual one.
The below came in my AM MILINET Blog. I don't like what I'm seeing in the USA Left anymore than I like that of the Vatican Left: "China says it has made real efforts toward establishing Vatican relations" https://www.reuters.com/article/us-...-establishing-vatican-relations-idUSKCN1HA08Y "China says bishop selection does not breach religious rights" https://apnews.com/fe4b403f5a8a44a8...op-selection-does-not-breach-religious-rights "Air Force veteran sues after being pulled from ceremony in mid-speech "for mentioning the word 'God'" http://www.foxnews.com/us/2018/04/0...er-being-pulled-from-ceremony-mid-speech.html I include the below because, I believe, it dovetails with the above articles. Playing "Nice" with Communist China and AF Vet "criminalized" for his mentioning God! I'm sure we can count on the "Media" to report on cases where the Police illegally seize the guns of Citizens or deny Constitutional Rights to People of Faith ... Right!!????? ...... and who ...EXACTLY!!?? ... earns the creds to decide who is worthy of Gun Ownership or Free Speech... Eh!? I'm guessing that there is a far different standard in godless Socialist Seattle vs. Texas? Am I the only one who has noticed a serious up-tick, among The Usual Suspects, of Christian-n-Easter Bashing of late? Remember the bashing of VP Pence's Faith a few weeks ago? Does anyone here doubt that 90% of Democrat Party Convention goers would happily vote that USA Christians, being of unstable minds, should all be Disarmed and Shut-Up for safety's sake .... just like Communist China? Poisoned Door Handle Hints at High-Level Plot to Kill Spy, U.K. Officials Say LONDON — British officials investigating the poisoning of Sergei V. Skripal, a former Russian double agent, believe it is likely that an assassin smeared a nerve agent on the door handle at his home. This operation is seen as so risky and sensitive that it is unlikely to have been undertaken without approval from the Kremlin, according to officials who have been briefed on the early findings of the inquiry. This theory suggests that an assassin, who Britain believes was working on behalf of the Russian government, walked up to the door of Mr. Skripal’s brick home on a quiet street in Salisbury on March 4, the day that he and his daughter, Yulia, were sickened. Mr. Skripal, who was freed in a spy swap with the United States in 2010, is still in critical condition and unresponsive, but Yulia is conscious and talking, according to a BBC report. Because the nerve agent is so potent, the officials said, the task could have been carried out only by trained professionals familiar with chemical weapons. British and American officials are skeptical that independent actors could have carried out such a risky operation or obtained the agent without approval at the highest levels of the Russian government — almost exactly the same phrase that American intelligence agencies used in October 2016, when they first attributed the hacking of emails from the Democratic National Committee to a team of Russian hackers. Four weeks after the assassination attempt, British and American officials are turning to the question of whether President Vladimir V. Putin himself was aware of, or ordered, the attack. They say there is no evidence so far of his direct participation, but the Russian president, a former K.G.B. officer, is skilled at hiding his communications. Palestinians plan to continue these mass protests in Gaza for over six weeks ending on May 15th which is just two days before the 101st Anniversary of Our Lady of Fatima's first apparition on May 13th. Gaza toll rises to 18, Israel rejects excessive force claims By Fares Akram and Karin Laub, associated press GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip — Apr 2, 2018, 3:50 PM ET http://abcnews.go.com/International...s-wounds-bringing-gaza-death-toll-18-54170694 A Palestinian family walks next to tents set up near the Gaza Strip border with Israel, in eastern Gaza City, Sunday, April 1, 2018. Israel’s defense minister on Sunday rejected international calls for an investigation into deadly violence along Gaza’s border with Israel, saying troops acted appropriately and fired only at Palestinian protesters who posed a threat. (AP Photo/ Khalil Hamra) Israel's military rejected new allegations Monday of unlawful use of force against unarmed Palestinians during mass protests in Gaza last week, as the Palestinian death toll rose to 18. Israeli troops prevented a mass breach of the border fence and an attempt by Gaza's Islamic militant Hamas to "drag us into a catastrophe," said Brig. Gen. Ronen Manelis, an army spokesman. He denied soldiers acted unlawfully, but said some mistakes might have been made and would be investigated. Israel's defense minister had previously rejected international calls for an independent investigation. Watch Now Thousands of Israelis demonstrate against plan to deport African asylum seekers Palestinians, Israeli forces clash after Trump's Jerusalem decision Allegations of excessive force and unlawful shootings were prompted by the death toll — Friday was the bloodiest day in Gaza since the 2014 Israel-Hamas war — and comments by military officials that the "main instigators" were targeted. Amateur video has emerged showing one Palestinian being fatally shot from behind while carrying a tire as he ran from the border area. Hamas, which organized Friday's mass march, has hinted that future protests — to be staged off and on for the next six weeks — could culminate in a mass border breach, referring to a Palestinian return to Jerusalem. However, Hamas leaders have not said specifically that large crowds would attempt to tear down the fence. Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh on Sunday hinted at an escalation, saying last Friday's protests had a "limit," but that it's not clear where that limit would be next time. In Friday's march, thousands of Palestinians — Israel estimated a turnout of 35,000 — headed toward the border area along several points. Smaller groups moved closer to the border fence, throwing stones, hurling firebombs or burning tires. Manelis alleged Monday that Hamas staged the mass march as a cover for attacks. He said there were five attempts to cross the fence, including with cutters, and that three explosives were planted. He said at least 11 of those killed were members of militant groups, including two who opened fire on soldiers near the border, but would not say how the others were killed. He defined a wide range of actions near the fence as terrorism, including throwing stones and burning tires. The military's open-fire policies came under more scrutiny as amateur videos emerged purportedly showing two Palestinians being shot — one killed and one wounded — while not posing any apparent immediate threat to soldiers. In one video posted on social media, a young man later identified as Abdelfatah Abdelnabi is seen being fatally shot from behind while carrying a tire as he ran away from the border. Majd al-Omari, who filmed the incident on his smartphone, told The Associated Press on Monday that just before the shooting, Abdelnabi had been involved in burning tires about 200 meters (yards) from the fence. Manelis said that the man in the video "had carried out acts of terror along the fence for several hours," an apparent reference to the burning of tires, but said the military would investigate. In another video, a man is seen kneeling in the first of two rows of worshippers Friday, facing the fence at a distance of 150 to 200 meters (yards). Suddenly, he stands up, limps a few meters, collapses and is carried away by young men who shout "Allahu Akbar," or "God is Great." Adli Abu Taha, who filmed the incident on his mobile phone, said the man, later identified as Ibrahim Abu Shanab, had thrown stones close to the fence before joining the group for prayers. Local hospital records indicate Abu Shanab was shot in the leg. Manelis alleged that the video was fabricated, without elaborating. He said soldiers followed strict rules of engagement, but would not say in which cases they used lethal force. He said a 100-meter wide area in Gaza, along the fence, had been defined as a no-go zone. Rights groups said it's unlawful to use lethal force when protesters don't pose an imminent threat. "An army can use reasonable force to defend a border," said Omar Shakir, of Human Rights Watch. "This was an incident where soldiers were firing from behind the fence, separated by buffer zones and other objects, firing on individuals well behind the fence, in some cases retreating, not moving forward, or advancing without posing imminent threat," he said. The Palestinian Health Ministry said Monday that the number of Palestinians killed Friday rose to 18, after a 29-year-old man died of his injuries. The total included 13 demonstrators and five Palestinians killed by Israeli fire near the Gaza border in other circumstances that day, including two gunmen who had opened fire on Israeli soldiers. The ministry has said 758 people were wounded by live fire on Friday — a figure disputed by Manelis, who said he believed several dozen Palestinians at most were wounded by live rounds and the rest by tear gas and rubber-coated steel pellets. The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said Monday that its ambulances had transported 615 people with bullet injuries from the border area to hospitals Friday. Health Ministry ambulances also evacuated some of the wounded to hospitals. The idea for the mass marches was first floated by a Gaza social media activist several months ago, and was later adopted by Hamas, which seized power in Gaza in 2007. In response to Hamas rule, Israel and Egypt enforced a crippling blockade of Gaza's borders. Israel and Hamas have fought three cross-border wars. Protests are to continue until May 15, the 70th anniversary of Israel's founding. The date is mourned by Palestinians as their "nakba," or catastrophe, when hundreds of thousands were uprooted in the 1948 Mideast war over Israel's creation. Most of Gaza's 2 million people are descendants of Palestinian refugees. Gaza's continued border closure has made it increasingly difficult for Hamas to govern. Life in the coastal strip has deteriorated further in recent months, with rising unemployment, grinding poverty and daily blackouts that last for hours. —— Laub reported from Ramallah, West Bank. Associated Press writer Josef Federman in Jerusalem contributed to this report.
CD, Thank you for posting these. Unfortunately, we need to add the following crisis to the list, Trump slams Democrats, calls for 'nuclear option' to stop caravan of Central American immigrants http://www.businessinsider.com/trum...r-option-to-stop-caravan-of-immigrants-2018-4
Thanks for the reference. Hard to prep much without much storage space. As I've said in previous posts, I'd like to go the way of a HAM radio. I suspect those are pricey. If we lose power, even wired phones won't work. How many generators would a phone company require? In that case, we'll have far bigger issues than phone communication.
Very important video to understand. What needs to be said about its discussions is it is antichrist what is being done intentionally by those who's are doing the bidding of the Antichrist at this moment. It is all a preparation to fully embrace the Antichrist when he manifests himself. It is all about softening the blow of going from white to black by accepting the grey at this moment. This is all brought to us via Freemasonry and their ideologies are being taught, not just in their high orders of the Masons', but now have entered the public schools, churches, movies, Hollywood, Facebook and every other form of social media. It is coming on like a storm at this point and it cannot be stopped till Genesis 3:15 comes to fruition: "I will put enmities between thee and the woman, and thy seed and her seed: she shall crush thy head, and thou shalt lie in wait for her heel". [15] "She shall crush": Ipsa, the woman; so divers of the fathers read this place, conformably to the Latin: others read it ipsum, viz., the seed. The sense is the same: for it is by her seed, Jesus Christ, that the woman crushes the serpent's head. Douay-Rheims bible.
