I don't believe the model will work for food, a perishable item. There may be a certain alarmism in this article-it mourns the loss of Tower Records and other music chains, but the advent of the mp3 and newer music-playing technology probably played a bigger part. I wonder will the Amazon model be able to prosper in the long term as it grows to ever more unwieldy dimensions? Over-expansion of businesses has always been associated with great risk. Of course, I could be utterly wrong!

‘Orwellian’: London Assembly Votes to ‘Arrest and Prosecute’ Pro-Life Christians

The London Assembly has been called “illiberal” and Orwellian after voting to call on the mayor “to clarify the powers available to [police] to arrest and prosecute” pro-life campaigners who pray near abortion clinics and offer support to mothers, accusing them of “harassment”.
The motion, passed Thursday and proposed by Labour members Dr. Onkar Sahotam and Fiona Twycross, labelled pro-life activists (pictured, above) and Christian women’s support groups “anti-choice campaigners” and accused them of “obstruction, intimidation and harassment”.

However, the Good Counsel Network (GCN), the pro-life group concerned, say there has not been a single conviction or caution from police in their 23 years of prayer vigils and outreach gatherings in Ealing, West London, near the Marie Stopes abortion clinic, where their campaigning began.

Mothers who have been helped by the group near the clinic have praised their actions.

In October, Ealing Council voted overwhelmingly in favour of a motion banning the group praying and conducting their pro-life outreach inside a 100-metre “buffer zone” around the clinic.

The pro-abortion, radical feminist “direct action group” Sister Supporter, who pushed for the vote, hopes it will inspire similar bans all over the country.

‘Accomplice in igniting war’: Moscow says US crosses a line with lethal arms supplies to Ukraine
    Published time: 23 Dec, 2017 11:27 Edited time: 23 Dec, 2017 13:39
    [IMG]
The intention by Washington to provide lethal arms to Ukraine ‘crosses a line’ and pushes Kiev towards bloodshed, a senior Russian diplomat said, accusing the US of playing the role of warmonger in the Ukrainian conflict.
The move by the US government is an escalation compared to the previous practice of providing weapons to Kiev through contracts with American arms producers, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said in a statement. “In a sense, the US has crossed a line.”

The Russian diplomat added that Washington can no longer claim the role of mediator in the Ukrainian conflict, because in fact it’s an “accomplice in igniting a war.” He said Moscow believes there is no use in appealing to the common sense of American politicians, since many of them are currently “blinded by Russophobia and eagerly applaud the Ukrainian nationalist punitive battalions.”

[IMG]‘Entirely defensive in nature’? US greenlights supply of lethal arms to Ukraine
Ryabkov’s remarks are in line with a string of condemnation of Washington’s move by other Russian officials. Fellow Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin said the US arming of Ukraine undermines the 2015 Minsk agreement, which was negotiated with the help of Germany and France, and laid down a roadmap for resolution of the conflict. The agreement’s implementation was stalled by Kiev’s refusal to uphold its part of the bargain, which included amnesty for rebel fighters and special autonomous status for the regions they control.

Aleksey Pushkov, member of the Russian Senate security committee, warned that the US may find itself dragged into direct confrontation with the rebels in Ukraine. The delivery of US-made weapon systems will require training of Ukrainian troops on the ground, and US advisers involved in such a program may be targeted by a Ukrainian provocation, he said.

The US “has enough problems already to allow itself to be involved in adventures of the [Ukrainian] regime,” he said. “And we know too well how adventurous Kiev may be.”
Pushkov said the “war party” members in Ukraine may be interested in re-igniting hostilities in the east ahead of the 2019 presidential election. Such an escalation would draw public attention away from the many failures of the government and whip up public support for hardline politicians.

Considering that Ukraine has been sidelined by other issues such as the crisis on the Korean Peninsula and the row over Washington’s recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, renewed violence would also help Kiev return to the list of priorities of world powers, Pushkov added.

On Friday, the US State Department announced the US would supply “defensive weapons” to Ukraine, saying it would help “deter further aggression.” The weapons would reportedly include anti-tank missiles, which Kiev has been asking for from Washington for years. The US government earlier approved a purchase by Kiev of sniper rifles and other small arms from US manufacturers.

AP Slams Hungary, Poland; Defends George Soros and His ‘Open Societies’

The globalist Associated Press (AP) has attacked populist governments in Hungary and Poland, likening them to Erdoğan’s Turkey and accusing them of shutting down free speech.
“These are trying and dangerous times for the media in countries that until recently had begun embracing democratic norms of free expression,” AP ominously reports, in reference to central European nations that have begun reasserting their sovereignty and standing up to the European Union (EU). “News organizations are under attack in dramatic ways, as elected governments turn public outlets into their mouthpieces and try to silence critical voices.”

The AP further accuses the Hungarian and Polish governments of “undermining free expression,” following the example of U.S. President Donald Trump, who “condemns unfavorable coverage as ‘fake news’ and brands journalists ‘enemies of the people.’”

The threat in the U.S. “is not that First Amendment press protections will be directly overturned, but that the administration’s continued attacks could sow so much distrust that attempts to undermine the media will become accepted,” the AP writes, citing Lata Nott, executive director of the First Amendment Center at the Newseum Institute in Washington.

With its opinionated, partisan reporting, however, the AP fuels the very distrust of mainstream media that they complain of.

In a bizarre and tendentious juxtaposition, AP compares Poland and Hungary to the Turkey of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, despite the fact that they differ in nearly every respect—historically, culturally, religiously and politically. Even the EconomistIntelligence Unit, in its Democracy Index, places Poland and Hungary alongside the United States as “flawed democracies,” while ranking Turkey a dismal 5 on its 10-point scale as a “hybrid regime” somewhere between democracy and a fully authoritarian regime.

What seems to bother AP most about Hungary is its forceful opposition to the creeping bureaucratic overreach of the European Union, which has tried to impose its will on Hungary through limitless immigration quotas opposed by the Hungarian people. Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has repeatedly asserted Hungarian sovereignty, insisting that the will of the people must prevail over unelected EU officials in Brussels.

In its unabashed push for a globalist agenda, the AP seems to think that the will of the unwashed must be made to conform to that of the enlightened elite establishment.

The AP further alleges that Hungary’s leftist newspaper, Népszabadság, closed last year “under political pressure” from the Orbán government, even though in point of fact the paper’s circulation had fallen precipitously from 460,000 in 1989 to a mere 37,000 in 2016 and had suffered severe financial losses in recent years. Heinrich Pecina, the owner of Népszabadság’s parent company, Mediaworks Hungary Zrt, said that he had attempted to sell the newspaper to the Hungarian Socialist Party, which refused the offer.

There have been “apparent attempts” to intimidate reporters working for international outlets who have reported on a state-sponsored campaign against George Soros, the AP suggests, without citing any evidence to this effect.

The AP describes Soros benevolently as a “Hungarian-American investor,” a “philanthropist” and a “Holocaust survivor,” while failing to mention the billionaire’s history of destabilizing governments for personal financial gain, funding left-wing campaigns and being convicted of insider trading.

Soros, the AP alleges, “has long promoted what he calls an ‘open society’ and supports controlled migration. He funds a university in Budapest and civic organizations, including some seen as critical of Orban.”

The AP criticizes the Orbán government’s opposition to Soros along with their investigation into his attempts to bring his tremendous financial influence to bear on Hungary’s political situation.

As for Poland, AP claims that its “right-wing populist government,” which has been in power for two years, “has been repeatedly condemned by the European Union and others for eroding judicial independence.” The Poles, like Hungary, have also resisted EU attempts to impose arbitrary immigration quotas.

For many in central Europe, of course, being “condemned” by the European Union is seen as a badge of honor.

Moreover, among Poles, the government is enjoying enormous popularity, according to pollster Kantar Public, with the job approval rating of both Prime Minister Beata Szydło and that of her government the best since Poland’s conservatives were elected in November 2015. Poland’s President Andrzej Duda, meanwhile, enjoys an enviable job approval rating of 54 percent.

People of good will should defend the right of the Associated Press to express its views, but no one should be naïve enough to think it is not pursuing a very clear political and social agenda. For all the squawking about “impartiality” and “freedom from bias,” the veil has now been ripped off.

New ‘SofTouch’ Abortions Kill Unborn Babies In Only Minutes

A device called SofTouch performs an abortion in minutes, virtually removing all the burdens of more conventional abortion methods.

Developed in 2011 by Harvard-trained physician, Doctor Joan Fleischman, “SoftTouch” abortions are the least invasive abortion option for early pregnancies, according to earlyabortionoptions.com. The procedure is normally used on women between five and 10 weeks of pregnancy, but can be performed up to 12 weeks of pregnancy per a doctor’s discretion.

The abortion procedure involves only a small aspirator and flexible tube that remove the fetus from the woman’s cervix in three to five minutes. The abortion produces almost no discomfort and almost all women who have “SofTouch” abortions resume their normal activities within 15 minutes, the website claims.

The website also touts the procedure as “noninvasive and natural” and includes other “advantages” over the abortion pill, such as its 100% effectiveness. The procedure allegedly does not negatively affect a woman’s chance to conceive again in the future, and women also experience less cramping and bleeding than those who take the abortion pill.

“SoftTouch is completed in one visit and our patients leave the office knowing that the pregnancy is over,” the abortion website maintains.

    SofTouch abortions cost roughly $1200.

If it were only the AP it would be one thing, however this extends to almost all major MSM publications to one degree or another. Which in turn leads me to believe that it of course is planned and executed in a concerted effort by some organization which decides what is published to the unwashed masses.

"The threat in the U.S. “is not that First Amendment press protections will be directly overturned, but that the administration’s continued attacks could sow so much distrust that attempts to undermine the media will become accepted,” the AP writes, citing Lata Nott, executive director of the First Amendment Center at the Newseum Institute in Washington."

I see this as exactly the result they are truly after. when one considers what happens when the lines of communication break down for the major contributors to our news people simply look elsewhere and stop trusting the 4th estate as they so humbly call themselves. They will put their trust in other places to discover the truth.

Add to this that the situation today for the vast majority of people; they have no belief in God, or worship false gods and are not bringing their children up to know the truth with properly formed minds and reasoning and we see the result all around us. Now we have generations of men and women, brought up in nations which due to the decisions right or wrong of their parents are living in situations which they assume incredible amounts of debt and yet can not find a job, find a suitable person to marry, raise a family, pay their bills and put a little aside. Instead the struggle is incredibly hard for them. Suicide is the second leading cause of death for college kids. Their parents blame their laziness while the younger generations seethe at the world their parents have created for them to inherit.

Many kids of today are looking for the truth to these problems and they are finding it in places such as Daily Stormer, which lovingly names them Generation Zyklon and boasts of their increased readership.

These powers know exactly what they have created.

Justin Trudeau wears blasphemous ‘Happy Birthday Jesus Sweater’ mocking the Last Supper

OTTAWA, January 2, 2017 (LifeSiteNews) – Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau mocked and ridiculed Christians by wearing a pullover that made fun of Jesus at the Last Supper, a Conservative Member of Parliament said.

Trudeau and his brother Alexandre were photographed wearing sweaters with yellow smiley faces, or emojis, superimposed over the faces of Jesus Christ and his disciples in Leonardo Da Vinci’s The Last Supper. The large yellow faces were crowned with birthday hats. The bread and wine on the table were replaced by large slices of birthday cake. A banner over the famous scene reads “Happy Birthday.”

The photograph, which appeared a year ago on Reddit, purportedly shows Justin and his brother Alexandre celebrating their joint December 25 birthday, the same date that Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.

Da Vinci’s The Last Supper depicts Jesus revealing to his apostles just hours prior to his crucifixion and death that one of them would betray him.

The Hon. Candice Bergen, MP for Portage-Lisgar, Manitoba, took issue with the Prime Minister’s choice of apparel. She posted the photograph to social media on Saturday.

“Why does Justin Trudeau think it's ok and cool to mock and ridicule Christianity by using cartoons as the face of Jesus and his Disciples in the Last Supper?” she asked over Facebook.

“When will liberal elite like Trudeau and his friends who defend his behaviour and laugh along with him, realize how harmful and intolerant they are being to Christians?”

Bergen asked people on Social media to share the post if they “agree that Leaders in the west like Prime Minister Justin Trudeau need to start standing up for Christians instead of mocking and ridiculing their faith.”

"Why does Justin Trudeau think it's ok and cool to mock and ridicule Christianity by using cartoons as the face of Jesus and his Disciples in the Last Supper? Share if you agree that Leaders in the west like Prime Minister Justin Trudeau need to start standing up for Christians instead of mocking and ridiculing their faith."

Bergen spoke up for Christians in Canada’s House of Commons this April, pointing out that they are the “most persecuted, victimized and attacked religious group in the world today”. “Unfortunately, persecuted Christians don’t have many champions in the West,” she said. “In fact, many of the elite readily join in the mockery and the disdain shown to Christians.”

The pullover is marketed by a company called “Shelfies Inc.” as the “Happy Birthday Jesus Sweater”. Shelfies Inc. also has other products using famouse representations of Christ and a line of garments emblazoned with the features of Justin Trudeau. The company’s web page notes that Justin Trudeau has been photographed wearing their work:

“This just in,” it enthused last June. “Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has worn another Shelfies all-over-print sweater! He was spotted on Christmas day wearing the ‘Happy Birthday Jesus’ sweater!

“Next Christmas, wear your Shelfies with pride knowing it was blessed by the man himself: Prime Minister Justin Trudeau!”

Shelfies Inc. did not respond for a request for comment by press time.

Trudeau was baptised and raised as a Catholic but lapsed when he was 18. Although he remains a nominal member of the Catholic Church, Trudeau is a ferocious opponent to several Catholic doctrines concerning the right to life, euthanasia, and marriage.

Trudeau is so pro-abortion that he does not permit pro-life members of the Liberal Party to run for office, and he refused to condemn sex-selective abortion when pressed on the issue. Last spring Trudeau pledged $650 million of Canadian tax dollars to contraception and abortion programs in developing countries, a move for which he was upbraided by Toronto’s Cardinal Collins. That summer he encouraged the First Minister of Ireland to legalize abortion in his country after the two marched together in Montreal’s Gay Pride parade. Trudeau’s government announced in December that business who wished to take part in a summer student work program would have to pledge their fidelity to so-called “reproductive” and “transgender” rights.

Despite holding positions contrary to Catholic moral teaching, Trudeau nevertheless presents himself for Holy Communion at Catholic services. The Archbishop of Montreal, Christian Lépine, scandalized faithful Catholics by giving the Blessed Sacrament to the notoriously pro-abortion Prime Minister at a special Mass commemorating the 375th anniversary of the founding of the city of Montreal.

    sunburst,

I had forgotten about the seagull and the crow attacking Pope Francis' peace doves. Member BrianK posted this article on "The Vatican Has Fallen" thread and I can't get it out of my head. It is very sad. I was hoping that the Pope was unaware of the design of the nativity scene in advance of it's creation but this article states that he had given his approval of the plans. I dropped in and out of the discussion of this nativity because of my disgust for the whole thing and I hadn't realized until now about how the abbey which donated the crèche has ties to Italy's LGBT activists, https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/v...ativity-has-troubling-ties-to-italys-lgbt-act . I have felt that this nativity is a definite sign though, not a good one.

  16. I have a rather unnerving story about a picture of Pope Francis.
I know this very holy lady named Laraine, at my Church, and she has a little prayer house built directly behind her house. When Priests come to town, they often will stay in her prayer house.
I must add that she is very concerned with the state of Our Holy Church.
Well, she had a picture of Pope Francis hung in this prayer house that kept giving her a dreadful feeling. Just a terrible feeling the longer it hung. She eventually took it out of its frame, tore it up, and threw it in a freshly lined little trash can (a little one for papers). I add again, clean, fresh bag, nothing eles in the trash can.
The next day she went in there, she looked in the trash can, and the torn up picture had maggots on it. Tons of maggots, along with the absolute opposite of the beautiful fragrance that is always attributed to holiness.
She has the belief that Pope Francis may be the false prophet in Revelation. A few years ago, when everyone was talking about Pope Francis being a heritic, I'd be the first to try to say no way. The more I pray, the more I see that something is very wrong.

There are huge banners with the picture of Pope Francis on it in Churches right across Ireland. You cannot avoid looking at them no matter how much you may want to. I have the very worse feelings often as I look at them. Don't let the smile fool you.

How come never before have these huge pictures of a Pope been placed in Churches? It is so weird. Even if he was a huge saint they would be out of place; they dwarf the statues and pictures of Jesus and Mary.

It is like some kind of cult.

It is weird and very, very strange.

Pertaining to the American political subtopic, take a good look at the American Solidarity Party. This seems to be a real viable option for us. Said candidates may not get elected to higher seats but getting the word out and visibility will help it grow.
