I dont see it as CVII yet. But, I do think it is exactly what evil powers and principalities want.

I say yet because I too see CV as Rwanda and Syria not the staged protests we see happening around the country. It very well could be upon us soon though if these agents on both sides keep it up and people lose hope. If they somehow manage to evict President Trump things could change rather drastically. Then again, he seems to be somewhat Teflon and none of their attempts have even come close to their goals even with the backing of the vast majority of media.

When we were seeing mass disruptions of services which didn't work when they tried them last time in places like AZ and WA etc we know that there are powers behind these attempts which are trained in the art of insurrection. Yet they didn't achieve their goals of turning US citizens against their own people and government. Instead, they helped to cement the resignation of the people to elect someone as a last ditch effort to try to steer the course of our nation away from its path of destruction.

So Im not saying CV yet. I believe there is still hope for us as a nation but I do think we have much to account for in the eyes of God and it's going to take people standing and speaking up for what is right no matter the cost.

VDH, as usual, Excellent. We, USA, are in uncharted waters. We are more divided than 1860 but the divisions are close to 50/50 in most States and can be along Race, Age, Religious, Cla$$ &/or Political affiliation lines. Like Civil War I, it's been brewing for 50 years ... just like The Church ;-(
I'd like to be on the Moon watching it all unfold.

The Canadian woman who hosts the , 'Truth Factory', is a Conservative Canadian who just started out doing this show a few months back. I watch because the idea of a talking cat doing the show amuses me and also because she does deep, deep research is witty and fun. But already she experiences censorship from utube who take down her stuff.

Which makes me watch her all the more. But of course if they are censoring her , who else are they blocking?

Fake News and the End of the World as We Know It

Thanks to the forethought of my wife, my family and I were lucky to have been able to travel to Madras, Oregon for the recent solar eclipse. Madras was one of the best places to see it, because of the low likelihood of overcast in the high desert of central Oregon during the summer months. As it happened, there was dense wood smoke instead, from the wildfires that have been burning all over the west in recent weeks. But on the day of the eclipse, we were fortunate that, thanks to a shift in the prevailing winds, the smoke had temporarily abated somewhat, and our view of the sky was quite good.

The eclipse was beautiful and spooky, unlike any other thing; happy intellectual fascination atop wild visceral dread.

But the most striking thing about the whole event was how the press disseminated totally false information about it.

In the lead up to the eclipse, the news was full of how disastrous traffic would be in the days before the eclipse, and especially on the morning thereof. The press reported that central Oregon would suffer a tripling or quintupling of its normal summer population for the weekend of the eclipse, especially in the vicinity of tiny Madras, which would swell from about 6,000 to about 600,000 people. Gas would probably run out, emergency services would be swamped, fights could break out, stores might quickly run out of food, porta-potties would overflow – and, soon, dogs and cats would be living together.

My wife had made reservations accordingly. She had rented a parking space on a Little League field in Madras. We would be cheek by jowl with hundreds of thousands of other spectators and their vehicles. It might take us eight hours or so to reach Madras from our lodgings in Bend, only a few miles away. So we planned to drive up there on the eve of the eclipse, camp out in the ball field, and then – knowing that departing traffic would be even denser – be prepared to camp there again the next night.

We anxiously monitored traffic in real time the day before the eclipse.

    There was none.

So we decided to risk driving up to Madras the next morning. We got up at 5:00 AM and hustled to get on the road by 6:00, knowing there was a risk that traffic might prevent us from arriving at Madras by the beginning of the eclipse at 10:00 AM.

    There was no traffic.

We happened upon a farmer’s mostly empty field just south of Madras, where we spotted a few pick-up trucks and tripods. It was nestled in a verdant valley between high basalt mesas, with misty views to distant mountains eastward and westward. Thinking it might be much nicer than a crowded baseball diamond, we stopped and asked permission to watch the eclipse from his field. He said use of the field was free, but he’d be glad of donations to cover his cost for the porta-potties he’d rented.

Huzzah! We settled in, tailgated, bundled against the morning chill and drinking hot coffee, and waited for the eclipse. A few minutes before it began, eight bucks with huge racks sprinted together eastward away from it, at top speed. They were the heralds of the strangeness.

A deep silence fell over the earth; crickets sang, then fell still. At totality, the temperature dropped ten degrees, and in the midnight darkness the stars came out. All was profoundly odd; the cosmos seemed turned upside down altogether, a literal catastrophe. Things might very well now be at their end, it seemed. We talked with each other nervously, quietly, respectfully.

All was hushed. Earth hunkered down abashed in silent horror, and awaited her doom.

Then a sliver of the sun appeared, and within a minute vibrant welcome normalcy reawakened. Everyone laughed; the birds began to sing, then hurried quickly to their regular midday business; it grew instantly hot. We packed up, and left.

So here’s the thing, the main point of this post (the stuff about the eclipse itself is included for its inherent interest): later that day we read in the LA Times that eclipse traffic in Madras had been a complete disaster. This was the exact opposite of the truth that we had ourselves experienced. It was quite clear that the piece had been composed a week before the event, so that it would be ready if column inches were needed that day. It was utterly, pathetically false. The local press in Bend reported that area merchants had experienced less volume than was usual for an August weekend. Gas, food, porta-potties, emergency services, restaurant tables, etc.: all were in plentiful supply. There was no crisis. There was no problem. Sure, there were some traffic jams heading north out of Madras afterward, but they cleared up after a couple hours – which is to say, they were like a normal day in the San Francisco Bay Area or Seattle.

    In short, No Big Deal.

The whole thing was made up. We laughed the press to scorn. Such hapless idiots! We congratulated ourselves on our good fortune in finding the farmer’s field and enjoying such a serene and beautiful experience.

Next day, we were not so sanguine. The pall of wood smoke covering central Oregon had increased to an alarming degree. Headlights were necessary at noon; lungs began burning in the time it took to cross a parking lot from the store to the car. It began to seem as though greater Bend might be in real danger. But the lies of the press about eclipse traffic – the sensationalist exaggerations, to the point of complete fabrication – had shaken our confidence. There were forest fires raging only a few miles from the forest that surrounded the house where we were staying, and we now knew that there was simply no reliable news medium that could tell us the true nature and scope of the problem, so that we could make plans about whether to cut short our stay, pack up the children, and head to safety.

The news media were not performing their basic social function. They were not providing any news. They were providing garbage.

Fake news about political and cultural narratives at the national and cultural scale is one thing – one very bad thing. Fake news about completely uncontroversial matters of fact is quite another, and far worse – especially when those matters of fact may make an immediate life or death difference to the customers of the media.

It is clear that we are beset by both sorts of fakery, relentlessly, pervasively. That stuff you read today? It’s almost all garbage.

Now, never mind the implications for the popular discourse on such subjects as anthropogenic climate change, immigration, crime and policing, debt, the putative treasonous perfidy of the Trump administration, and so forth, bad as they are.

Consider rather what this means for us regarding, say, the current Mexican standoff with North Korea. Consider that the leaders of North Korea and the US may be making decisions about nuclear war that are influenced by … fake news.

    Garbage in, garbage out.

    Sin in, death out.

If you cannot assess a situation realistically, and describe it accurately, you will never come up with an appropriate course of action.

It is especially important for Catholics, in a period of conflict and even diabolical disorientation, to see the world with clear eyes and to cling to the truth. Time spent wading through fake news and doom porn is time wasted. So are attempt to exaggerate a level of conflict (civil war) when trends in the real world are bad enough.

Terrifying. Biblical! Why is this not getting air time. The US is surely being buffeted by natural disasters just as mystic Therese Neumann said we would. Who can doubt we are in serious sobering times? And yet seems to be ho hum to much of this. Even Hurrucane Irma is not really being talked of around here. I am so sorry for you and Don and everyone in the northwest. I have dear friends and relatives in Washington and Oregon as well. Praying!!! For all of you.

    AED,

My husband said that one of the MSM networks ran a story last night about the wildfires in the Western states and they stated 9 states were affected. I found the following online, http://www.foxnews.com/us/2017/09/0...est-los-angeles-declares-state-emergency.html The station that I watch, OAN, only covered Oregon yesterday but I think I saw the story about the LA fires a few days ago. This has happened in the past but it appears a little unusual, to say the least, that one side of the country is dealing with all of these fires and at the same time the other side of the country is dealing with hurricanes and flooding.

Richard Branson was on the island and took everyone down into the wine cellar to sit out the storm as it destroyed the Great House above.

His son wrote: ‘Glad to say that all humans on Necker are ok although a lot of buildings destroyed ry concerned for our friends and everyone on the neighbouring islands and people in its path.

‘Please don’t take this hurricane lightly if it is heading your way. If your building is not very solid, do find somewhere safe! Homes can be rebuilt but lives can’t. Nature warning us again of the impact of #climatechange We must all do more to combat this.’

ON THE BRINK: China Prepares for ‘Surprise Attack’ Near North Korea
posted by Hannity.com Staff - 1 day ago

The Chinese government is practicing for a major armed conflict on the Korean peninsula, carrying out massive military drills in preparation for a “surprise attack” should all-out war erupt in the region, reports Reuters.

According to sources in Beijing, the Chinese air force simulated an attack from the sea earlier this week, mobilizing its anti-aircraft systems and strategic defense battalions. Troops from the Chinese army also took part in the drill.

“The troops rapid response capabilities and actual combat levels have effectively been tested,” said a statement from an official Chinese military website.

The Chinese drills comes as tensions on the Korean peninsula remain at an all-time high, with the United States and South Korea conducting war games in the region and North Korea successfully testing a nuclear explosion over the weekend.

The United States has ratcheted up its war-of-words with Korean dictator Kim Jong Un following the test, saying the communist nation was “begging for a war” with the US and its allies. In response, Kim warned President Trump to prepare for more "gift packages" from the hermit kingdom.

Putting things into perspective... Even as Hurricane Irma approaches, an environmental activist argues the trend is for more people to survive previously catastrophic hurricanes. Bjorn Lomborg presents an argument against climate change and cites evidence of things to do to mitigate extreme weather impacts for the future.

    From FaceBook:

    Bjørn Lomborg
    1 hr ·
We clearly need a perspective. Yes, hurricanes Harvey and Irma are disasters, and we should do everything we can to help.

But claims that "this is what climate change looks like" or that this is the signature of a "climate breakdown" simply lack a sense of proportion.

If you blame Harvey and Irma on the real problem of global warming, you should also credit it the last 12 years of no landfall hurricanes.

Strong landfalling hurricanes are still declining over the past 140 years, also with Irma.

But perhaps most importantly, because we're much richer and better protected, death rates from hurricanes in the US have declined dramatically. Even the 1800+ terrible deaths from Katrina in 2005 constitute more of an average hurricane risk in the early part of last century.

If we want to help future people from the impacts of hurricanes, cutting CO₂ will help almost nothing. This is about smart solutions like
better infrastructure, porous surfaces, and drainage (get rid of water faster),
levees and dams (to avoid flooding),
better building codes (creating safer houses),
better zoning (don't build in flood plains or on the coast, where the risk is the highest) and
dropping subsidies for insurance (which encourages building in high-risk areas).

The politicians and media will pay no attention to him. He is full of reason and common sense. Such things don't fit the narrative. The politicians and their media have no interest in helping people, only in finding opportunities to control them.

I do remember reading some time ago in a Mark Steyn compilation of anti-global warming articles by various scientists that global warming ought to lead to less storms and weather activity due to an inherent reduced equateropolar temperature gradient.

The largest abortion clinic in the United States is set to open in Houston, Texas, this April.

Planned Parenthood will renovate a former Houston bank into a 78,000 square foot facility.

Pro-life advocates are calling it an abortion super center and planning a protest next week.

The building will include a surgical wing equipped to provide late-term abortions.

Abby Johnson, a former Planned Parenthood director turned pro-life advocate, says the new clinic will target minorities.

"It's a neighborhood where 85 percent of the population is minority," she said. "That is very intentional by Planned Parenthood."

"Seventy-six percent of Planned Parenthood clinics are built in minority neighborhoods," Johnson continued. "[It's] very intentional and that just goes back to the roots of the organization."

A prayer rally will be held outside the clinic Jan. 18. The facility is scheduled to open in April.

WOW! North Korea Openly Threatens EMP Attack On U.S. For First Time Ever

For the first time ever, North Korea has threatened to strike the U.S. with an EMP (electromagnetic pulse) attack. In an interview with Breitbart News, aurthor Anthony Furey explains why the threat could dramatically increase tensions between North Korea and the U.S.

    Breibart News reports:

According to the Associated Press, shortly after North Korea launched its sixth nuclear test using an H-bomb, the “Hermit Kingdom’s” leader Kim Jong-un issued a statement through its state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) claiming the weapon “is a multi-functional thermonuclear nuke with great destructive power which can be detonated even at high altitudes for super-powerful EMP (electromagnetic pulse) attack according to strategic goals.”

    […]
An NEMP is an abrupt pulse of electromagnetic radiation that occurs as a result of a nuclear explosion. An NNEMP is virtually the same except it does not include the nuclear component. The currents caused by these charges the atmosphere with electromagnetic waves that travel down onto the earth’s surface at super speeds hitting everything within their line of sight, sending high-voltage energy through the electricity grid and frying them, causing massive disarray.

Anthony Furey’s book Pulse Attack: The Real Story Behind the Secret Weapon That Can Destroy North America is the first of its kind to outline the A-Z effects of a potential EMP attack on North America. The book also presents several simple and straightforward ways North America can protect against such a devastating scenario.
