Many reasons. Many, many reasons. Isaiah 53 wasn't hidden from them, it simply wasn't included in the yearly cycle of readings. Most Jews simply don't go beyond what's in the cycle. Also, a bit of history, with some inaccuracies. I'm going to be dealing in orders of magnitude, not absolute numbers, just to give you an idea of what happened. At the time of Jesus, there were about 10 million people in the Roman Empire. Of these, about one tenth, or 1 million, were Jews or Noahide Gentiles -- gentiles who did not fully convert to Judaism but who followed the Noahide Laws. And of these, about one tenth, or 100,000, lived in Israel. (As an aside, this is one reason why the Septaguint translation of the Tanakh into Greek was so accepted over the Masoretic translation used in the Temple. Basically, the Masoretic was used only in Israel, while all the other 900,000 Jews used the Septaguint.) After the different rebellions in Israel, the majority of the population was exiled and the maps changed to remove the name of Israel. As of around 200AD, there were only about 10,000 Jews left in what had been Israel. That still left the 900,000 Jews and observant Gentiles, plus the members of the diaspora, in the Empire. By the time of St. Augustine, though, there were by his calculations only about 100,000 Jews remaining in the Empire, not counting the remnant in the former Israel. There are modern Jewish scholars who firmly believe that these missing Jews had been killed, either by the Romans or by the Christians. The truth is simpler: these missing Jews converted to Christianity. It was about this time that the rabbis removed Isaiah 53 from the readings. There are also some sources that say these rabbis changed the sacred texts so that when the counting of generations in the texts was done, it would be clear that Bar Kochbar was the Messiah, not Jesus. Given history after that, the Jewish story blames all the pain on the Christians. That's why Jews who convert to Hinduism or some such are still accepted while converts to Christianity are considered traitors.

What amazes me about this video is that their hearts are softening. You can see it in the faces of the people when they talk about Him. I am sure that this video was edited of course but I have never seen a person of Jewish belief to not be obstinately stiff necked when it came to their adamant refusal of Jesus as Messiah and Lord. I believe that the Book of Revelations explains the missing pieces for the Jews, I mean what they were expecting would happen when their Messiah shows up won't be complete until the end or very close to the end. I have come to understand that peace will only occur after the chastisement, this may be a very negative perspective but I went from having a very optimistic view to a very pessimistic view over the course of the past year or so. Maybe a more educated view is a better way to put it. It just does not seem possible for peace to occur any other way then for God to basically destroy most of the world's arsenal of weapons in a chastisement. We were told time and time again what to do but here we are. A Jewish friend of mine explained that the problem he has is with the Trinity, it can't make that leap. I believe that Saint Patrick explained it pretty well. It wasn't until recently that I even attempted to discuss religion with my Jewish friends. I did so mainly because I am concerned that we are in the end times but then I listened to what Pope Benedict said, which is that we are not supposed to evangelize the Jews, God will take care of this. What a load of absolute rubbish for scientists to think they can give and take life. That belongs to God. I would expect if they succeed in making a head (brain) operate to communicate after attaching it to a body. There will be no soul. No soul from God that is. If you listen to Sondra Abrahams testimony about what Jesus showed her in the late 60's, early 70's; they would be doing abortions and euthanasia and scientists would invent an artificial womb where she saw poor little creatures who did not appear to have a soul. I do believe Sondra's NDE testimony is true. There was no mention of life being restored through head transplants. In the last few days I read an article saying they have been able to keep an unborn lamb or something alive for a month in an artificial womb, so Sondra's testimony is still coming true. And of course they say how in the future they can help those who can not conceive using an artificial womb, right on with what Sondra has said Our Lord told her. Jesus was not impressed with the artificial womb plan.
Just wanted to point out that the top picture is mirror-image reversed as shown by the Divine Mercy rays being reversed. This is important only because you'll see the statue of Our Lady is missing her left hand. About 8 (maybe 9) years ago, Mark Mallett wrote an essay describing how people had been writing in to tell him that their statues of Mary were suddenly losing their left hands. This was happening to all sorts of statues in all sorts of places, both inside and outdoors, so it wasn't just vandalism. What's more, no matter what people did, they could not reattach the hands to the statues. Mark was at a loss at explaining what that meant.
