Julia they'd be all back in the pubs for a very stiff drink wondering what on earth they had the night before to cause such a traumatic hangover.
How many people here will be on their death beds years from now still anticipating the illumination. I'm guessing most. Somehow a post-death illumination sounds infinitely better to me anyway but I am trying to get in and stay in the right place for such a thing if it happens in my lifetime. I think Luisa Piccarreta will have to be given sainthood and her writing (more like Jesus' writings) raised to such a high level in the church as to be the blue print for the era of peace. In my mind we are in the Divine Mercy stage (being extended), then comes the Divine Justice stage which to me is the true suffering worldwide by all which also encompasses the illumination (maybe coming quickly but I think its many years off) If it's true that buildings standing now won't be standing then it's going to be almost unbelievable to live through. I still don't think God has even come close to preparing the large remnant for this time yet. The Divine Will stage is the era of peace. Having the Divine Will blue print ready in preparation for such a huge world wide event as the illumination would seem necessary. Could all happen quickly but people always pick a few weeks or months ahead and this isn't realistic to me at all. It's all about to happen, rarely ever does.
On Holy Thursday, April 13, 1995, about midnight after services, my wife and I were coming out of St. James Church in Medjugorje and looked up at the sky. We saw a most beautiful celestial sight. A golden halo encircled the full moon AND surrounding them both was a rainbow! This year, Holy Thursday again falls on April 13th.
My youngest son is 16 and wanted to discuss internet culture the other day. When even our young people are seeing the immense shift in the culture where the left are trying to bully the right into submission, then you've got to wonder! One top youtube streamer was being attacked by the Wall Street Journal and my son saw how blatantly nasty and untrue what they were saying was, so we then had the discussion about fake news and how the left (evil) really is clawing for control - and we discussed why, mainly the evil trying to gain complete control over media so they can control what you hear and thereby what you might think. He's a good kid and I think it's important that our kids understand exactly what is happening out there.
I saw and heard supernatural things in Medjugorje in 1989 (32 years ago) that convinced me that the Medj. apparitions are closely linked to Exodus but I was unsure in what ways. One way is, as a priest in Medj. said, 'The Rosary is as strong as Aaron's rod that parted the Red Sea and gave water from the rocks'. I heard this just after seeing red waves in the form of a 'neon sign' on the cross atop Krizevac during a Good Friday apparition at that place (I could find only one other person who had seen the same sign, others saw different signs but most saw brightly lit symbols of some kind such as hearts. Subsequently I came to believe that one of these links is also the period of 40 years that the Jews spent wandering in the wilderness. We are now, at last, very near to the 40th anniversary of the first of the apparitions (24 June 2021) and I am convinced that the secrets are about to unfold and I expect to hear about the first one on 21 June (3 days before the anniversary). I realise that I am 'sticking my neck out' on this prediction but I have waited many years for this year and particularly the anniversary date. I am an old man eager to be alive to see the effects of the secrets on my many lapsed relatives and to be able to help them through these times. I am not alone, Sr. Emmanuel has stated that this year is very significant along with priests and others who have been involved with Medj. for decades. It has been reported in several places (no idea how reliably) that a local who knows Vicka asked her in 2001, 'In soccer terms where are we in relation to the start of the secrets' and Vicka said, 'We have entered the second half'. It's now very nearly 'full time'. The visionaries have also dropped various hints about the closeness of the unfolding of the secrets. As they say, 'Get ready, it's going to be a bumpy ride.' I am going to confession on Saturday to be ready for what I believe is about to overtake us.
Well, SteveD, there’s certainly has been an exodus from Medjugorje these past 18 months with the lack of pilgrims and even businesses closing down, and local people having to seek employment away from home. Our Lady of Medjugorje certainly kept that one to herself, if she saw it coming. The ‘bumpy’ ride has always been a part of life, for some more difficult than for others. The Bosnian War was another well-kept secret until it happened. No advance warning on that one, either. Yes, Our Blessed Mother can certainly keep a ‘secret’. I remember attending one of Ivan’s apparitons on the top of Podbrdo late at night. When the apparition was over, the heavens opened and torrential rain poured down on the people attempting to descend the hill in darkness. It was a dangerous situation, especially for older folk who struggled keeping on their feet. Again, no warning from Our Lady, not even tagged to the end of her message given to Ivan. And we’ve never heard the official version of why Our Lady suddenly decided to stop appearing to Mirjana on the 2nd day of each month. Another well-kept secret by Our Lady – and by Mirjana. But anyway, what is this need for secrets when Jesus loves us? And especially for those who are well aware that God exists? As for the comparison to soccer, there’s been many a match that has fizzled out in the second half after the excitement and action witnessed in the first half or ‘early doors’. There will be no Medjugorje secrets announced this year. Ask Jesus.
Many thousands of people in Hrushiv, the Ukraine, saw Our Lady in the 80's and continued to go to the place of apparitions in spite of Communist threats and action against them. Our Lady of Hrushiv mentioned two other places, Fatima and Medjugorje in which latter place She came as Queen of Peace. She also appeared in Kibeho before the massacres there urging peace. She does have history of often appearing during or before great slaughter so perhaps you and others miss the hint sometimes, the locals at Medj. did not miss them before the wars occurred as I recall their comments when speaking to some about Her choice of title.
Our Lady’s first mention of war in her Medjugorje messages was on December 25, 1991. The official date for the start of the Bosnian War is April 6, 1992. Three weeks later, April 25, 1992, Our Lady gave the famous message which said that by prayer and fasting war can be stopped. On the third day of the apparitions Our Lady was asked by Ivanka: Why have you come here? What do you desire? The Queen of Peace responded: "I have come because there are many true believers here. I wish to be with you to convert and to reconcile the whole world." No mention of the war that was to manifest 10 years later.
Our Lady leaves all that to the newspaper. The Holy Family had to deal with all of the extremities of life on Earth. Why should we be any different?
When I went to Medjuorje in 2014, the 'apparition' we were meant to attend was cancelled because the 'seer' had business out of town. One of the most widespread car brand in Medjugorje seemed to have been Mercedes-Benz. I was in two minds at the time, which is why I went on that pilgrimage. I am now clearer, for myself. As far as I know, the local Bishop, who has authority to rule on the validity of local apparitions, has dismissed the case of Medjugorje. The devil is working hard to deceive people, for the devout he seems to divide by false apparitions. On the other hand, I am a friend of and trust a traditional Latin Mass family with six kids. The father of this family is convinced he saw a sun miracle in Medjugorje. I also admire Fr. Mark Goring and have purchased his St. Joseph nine-day consecration book. Regarding Medjugorje though, I am more skeptical. I take a conservative and hopefully prudent approach: I follow only approved apparitions, such as Akita and Fatima. I am not perpetually waiting for 'secrets' to get revealed or an 'illumination of conscience'. These things can keep us in dream-like state whilst the Corona-war is already on. We don't need to wait for a warning, we already have one, given by an Angel to Sr. Agnes Sasagawa on 6 October 2019. The vaccine battle is already raging, no time to waste in the Medjugorje or Garabandal waiting loop!
For what it’s worth I’ve been to medjugorje three times with my wife and kids. Every time we witnessed absolutely extraordinary phenomena related to the sun.
The Mercedes is so common in Medjugorje because a lot of the families run taxis to drive pilgrims all over town. I remember my German professor making a joke once about how in America we think Mercedes are so fancy but in Europe they're just common old taxis. The authority over apparition approval in Medjugorje has been taken out of the hands by the bishop and moves higher up. The first 7 apparitions have been officially approved by the Church. We can't have full approval of the rest of the ongoing messages while we're still waiting on the secrets and the conclusion of the apparitions. I've been to Medjugorje twice and have spoken with two of the visionaries. They are humble, serving, loving people who suffer greatly and are the real deal.
Just about a week to wait. Can't help holding my breath a little...there have been so very many disappointments in the past! Still looking good. So interesting! But I think they are supposed to declare the secrets so many days before...
My mistake. I thought that's what the recent commission's conclusion meant. They came to a favorable conclusion on the first 7 apparitions and then Pope Francis lifted the ban on official pilgrimages there and sent a special papal envoy to see how the Church may better serve the pilgrims there. It certainly is a good sign!
