Dear All, If I could ask you please to pray for my niece, Mara. She was in a car accident. She had surgery today and is doing okay. She was thrown from the car (I am assuming that means no seat belt on) and pinned under it. Her jaw and eye sockets were broken and she needed facial surgery. Miraculously no internal organs seem to have been injured. We are sure angels surrounded her. It will be a long road to recovery though. Even more than physical healing we are asking for prayers for her soul. She has been estranged from the family for 10 years due to her drug use and life choices. This may be an opportunity for a life reassessment. Her mother prays daily to St. Monica and to Our Lady of Lourdes (to whom she had a devotion when she was a child) to enlighten her, protect her, and to guide her back to her faith and family, to help her see all she has broken and to make reparation. We are praying to Our Lord to have mercy on her and on those she has hurt and to bring her the grace necessary to change her path. If anyone would please pray for her, even a quick prayer, for her physical and her spiritual healing, we would be very, very grateful. You don't have to write back, just knowing there are loving people out there praying for her is enough. Thank you all so very, very much.
May our Lord's grace through the Immaculate Heart of Mary be upn Mara for spiritual and physical healing.
Thank you Florida Panther, Sterph, Fatima, Dolours, and Clare. Thank you all so much. The whole family appreciates it. May Our Lord and Our Lady watch over all of you.
Dear Praetorian, I've always believed that Our Lord listens to the prayers of little ones in a special way, so my husband and I will include Mara in the family prayers with our daughters (5 and 3 1/2) at bedtime tonight.
I will pray for Mara, too. God bless. (There is always St. Teresa of Calcutta's emergency novena, saying the Memorare nine times in a row.)
Cathy, Texas Mama, Josephite, Heidi, and Harper thank you all for your thoughts and prayers!!! Texas Mama, that is so sweet It is appreciated. Harper, it's funny you say that because her mother's name is Teresa and she always mentions that emergency novena!
I'll pray for her....this may be the opportunity for her to find her faith. Sometimes Gods breaks our heart to take it. Keep us posted on her recovery.
