The Warning, Or Illumination Of Conscience

Now, back to the topic of this thread. The Warning or Illumination of conscience.

 

As it was predicted by our Blessed Mother at Garabandal, prior to the Warning, the pope will visit Moscow. Any thoughts as to what might propel the pope to visit Moscow ? Is it going to be a " peace mission " or a "unification meeting " with the Russian Orthodox Church, or both ?

 

It is difficult to speculate on. Right now I do not believe the Holy Father has a good image in the eyes of the Russian Orthodox Church. Yes he met with the Patriarch Bartholomew, but he it appears that the Orthodox Church in Russia is focused on bringing back tradition. Where as the direction in the Catholic church is heading towards modernism.

I am not sure that he would be able to have much influence in Russia on any level. I could see him flying there seeking mercy from Russia for the people, should a war break out. War appears to be on the horizon if we look at the apparitions of Our Lady as well as history for indicators.

 

I've been wondering about that lately, if maybe the pope (timing wise I'm just assuming Pope Francis for the moment) will go to try and unify the orthodox churches? Unity and peace do seem to be his favorite topics (let's leave aside all the controversial stuff he's said in this thread guys) and I almost thought he would go to Moscow when the Russian Orthodox backed out of the council at the last moment. It seemed like a great moment at the time.

 

Sorrowful, I lean more toward some kind of "peace mission" , mostly because , both Fatima & Garabandal mention the need for Russia's complete conversion, ( and God knows we here in America need a serious wake up call ,and the rest of the world too) and to restore the temporary peace , before the Chastisement.

On July 20,1963 Conchita left the Church saying that she had had an intimate conversation with Our Lord. A Priest asked her to relate the circumstances in writing.
Then the girl took a piece of paper and a pencil, and wrote these lines spontaneously with great ease.
I was making my thanksgiving and praying for things. He answered me…

And I said to Him:
— “Why is the miracle coming? To convert many people? “
He answered:
— “To convert the whole world.”
─“Will Russia be converted? “
─” It also will be converted, and so everyone will love Our Hearts. “

Russia is in the midst of that Conversion as we speak. They are moving more towards the traditions, our Church is moving away. The signs of Russia's conversion are everywhere.

Speaking of the Unification, this little gem popped into my mind too:

This would simply be the fulfillment of John 10:16: And I have other sheep, that are not of this fold; I must bring them also, and they will heed my voice. So there shall be one flock, one shepherd.

 

I pray for this to be true, but time is ticking away... we are very close to war.



When Russia believes that the 1000km ICBMs are almost ready, they will likely attack.

 

With the American election coming, and the uncertainty it will bring, Russia, has to feel like it fears no one. Yes ,we are headed for some scary times ahead. Pray the Warning comes sooner than later.

So I would tend to agree with Glenn about a possible peace mission. He may even have been asked by such as Poland, after all of its past sufferings under Communism and also the sacrifice of his Pope predecessor, JPII, to intervene with Russia as they now feel threatened themselves of being invaded once again.

Or....perhaps the Pope might just want to test the waters to perhaps see what reaction he would get if he gave a heads up to them about possibly consecrating Russia, by name, to the Immaculate Heart of Mary as required by Fatima's specific message for that peace in the world to come.

 

I have very serious reservations about the authenticity of Garabandal. I did some more searching after I read the rather harsh responses to LittleMesBigBrother which come across to me as being overly defensive.

According to this guy there's nothing new about the prophesies of a warning or chastisement. I suppose you could call him an on the fence sceptic

Then I found this: http://www.unitypublishing.com/Apparitions/Garabandal2.html While the heading and some of the content is rather extreme, there's enough in it to convince me to give Garabandal a wide berth, not least that some of the people who were to see the miracle have died. Sceptic that I am, I am unconvinced by the excuses.

I'm in no way suggesting that the people promoting it are frauds. I don't know any of them and they may well be genuine believers who have put so much into it that they cling on to their belief in its authenticity. I wish them all well, but added to the matter of Joey's not regaining his sight and people dying before the miracle, there is something halloween-ish about what went on during the apparitions that gives me the creeps.

Sorry, Glen, if that offends you. I'm just uncomfortable with the way the warning and chastisement are being so closely linked to Garabandal when they would be something to watch out for even if there were no such place as Garabandal.

 

Unity Publishing is a horrible joke by Salbato .He is only a Medjugorje supporter .I wrote him personally to refute EVERY claim ,and he refused to print anything ! Here's an example of the outrageous lies. ( The girls flew over houses ! ) Now if this ever happened don't you think there would have been pictures, videos , hundreds of eye witnesses ???? There's no need to be aggressive, Glen, because I'm merely posting on a thread about "The Warning" prophesy which is not unique to Garabandal. I didn't plough through 18 pages of posts but clicked on a page close to the end of the thread and came across the posts referring to Garabandal's lack of authenticity. Although I didn't introduce the issue of Garabandal's authenticity, I fail to see the need for threatening anyone who reminds readers that there are serious questions about it. Perhaps it would be helpful to folk who prefer to stick to approved prophesies about a warning and chastisement if the thread title had some reference to Garabandal in it. I don't know who Salabato is. I did a search about Garabandal and that site had translations of the documents from the local bishops, and I saw nothing in the link that accuses St. Pio of being a liar.

Dolores, one of many duties as an Admin to help Padraig keep the threads on topic , which this one was hyjacked , I just returned it to its topic, and informed Padraid,and he agreed. I'm not being agressive, I am reminding you and others to adhere to Padraig's wishes. BTW, I never "threatened " anyone. Show me where I did .

 

I would think then that you should be following your conscience (as well as respecting the educated discernment of others' consciences) and stay far away from such discussions since they could tempt you away from following your conscience....not a good thing. If you are sincere!

Private revelations let us know what is hoped for from the plan and viewpoint of heaven (not our own)....for the benefit of the faithful. But they depend upon the cooperation of the Church always. God respects His Church on earth as well as the free wills of those in positions of authority within it and always works through it. When the Church delays, does not complete its obligations in such matters that are of greatest importance.....for decades often.....for instance, with Fatima's specific request/s in order to gain world peace.....then that effects all that was originally intended in God's plan for sending His Mother in particularly serious times, specific to them and their needs, and why we don't see all that was announced in the beginning and intended by heaven coming to fruition. When God tells us the graces He wishes to give us through His Mother within any particular visitation and time period we can't blame Him or those who have been faithful to His requests and work to accomplish His goals, but we have to look to those within the Church who have done just the opposite and avoided their own obligations for they will be held accountable for "what they failed to do". When God sends His own Mother it isn't the time to hem and haw and delay acknowledging what is being revealed....IOW, it isn't to be taken lightly or as a joke by those who have the obligation to move on it. The faithful have been denied so often great graces like healings of the body as well as the soul intended for them. God speaks His intentions. The Church in its flawed humanity so often interferes with those intentions through disbelief, error, and pride.

 

Glancing over the posts again, I see that you didn't threaten anyone so I apologise for saying that you did. That said, it can be hard here to figure out what is "the topic" and which prophesies they are referring to.

P.S. to Earthtoangels: I do try to steer away from unapproved prophesies and stick to the authoritative educated discernment of the local Bishops but it can be rather hard to do on this forum. While I don't want to get into a tit for tat argument about Garabandal, from my point of view LittleMe'sBigBrother's opinion carries as much weight as those promoting the apparitions unless and until the Church approves them. I prefer to err on the side of caution and if holding that viewpoint casts me as insincere, then so be it.

I am in total agreement with Glenn on the facts and that this thread should not be a place to question the authenticity of Garabandal. That being said, from my observations, Glenn, though I assume unintentionally, your wording and emphasis of large font, etc. could be construed by some as aggressive and defensive (though I believe you are simply defending a friend out of love that you have come to know as a very holy person). You have truth on your side so there is no need for this. You also don't need to defend Conchita's character so strongly.

From all that you have posted about her I am sure she welcomes the persecution with humility (thanking Our Lord for allowing her to experience what He experienced during His passion) and she simply prays for all of us that are blinded from seeing the truth. I agree that it is important to point out errors of those who question (whether they do it with charity or ill intention) the authenticity of Garabandal (especially when they have their facts wrong), but it must be done in charity. I believe you have good intentions and in your heart are trying to be charitable, but in my opinion it is extremely important to give a witness of humility and peacefulness when dealing with these people who are questioning or even attacking Garabandal.
However I totally agree with you that these questions must be made in their proper place within this site and they must not take over a thread about something else and if people do not respect this and continue to question in the wrong thread, then I would hope that Padraig would remove them from being able to respond in that particular thread.

I have enjoyed this site and the dialog that takes place in it and it hurts to see the back and forth's that from time to time give the impression of uncharitablity. Let us not forget that we are all "soldiers" of Mary (= prayer warriors that are willing to deny self and suffer on the behalf of others) who, like our Lord, was always meek and humble of heart.
