Tony Hickeys little booklet is one I continued to read for a few years until it fell apart. It is a wonderful introduction to living in the Divine Will.

Julia Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us.

Kathy K and one other lovely soul on this site let me know the contact to order the book "The Twenty Four Hours of The Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ; from the writings of the Servant of God Luisa Piccarreta The Little Daughter of the Divine Will."

God bless you for your help on this. I can't remember the contact details, they are somewhere on the thread.

As far as reading the hours. There is a prayer to read at the start of each hour. Then the reading for the hour which varies ;followed by Reflection and Practices. Some hours readings just take 10 minutes or so. Some take me an hour, and these longer readings are around the institution of Holy Eucharist and the Hours on the Cross. There is then another prayer of thanksgiving at the end of the Hour to read.

I tried to read the full 24 hours last year when Holy Father asked us to make a 24 hour prayer. It was too much, I gave in after 15 or 16 hours and had to finish the next day.

I read the 24 hours on the days leading up to New Years day, and did it one hour per day. This was much better for me, I felt I could take it all in so much better. And would recommend one hour per day, unless you are a super human.

I wished I was technical savvy; because I have the book downloaded on my computer and if I knew how would gladly post one hour per day so more people could join in this Holy devotion.

I might try to do it. Or make a link so someone else could do the techy thing. Praised be Jesus and Mary.

Oh, I ordered 24 books and all of them were passed on to others, so I have a version printed by my husband in large print for my own use.
ps sorry, I see links for ordering were posted while I was writing my post.
pps, I have checked and because I had already downloaded the book there is no sign of the original link. There is too much writing to try and copy and paste with the introduction and everything.

Julia, You may order the Passion book by calling the Luisa Piccarreta Center for the Divine Will at 423-566-5178 (in the US). It is the same place that I have posted above where you can order the Biography of Luisa, "The Sun of My Will" - a most wonderful book that I recommend everyone read who is interested in learning more about Luisa.
As far as reading the Hours of the Passion, if you find you are unable to read entire Hours, just read as much as you are able - even if it is only one paragraph. Jesus tells us in the writings the importance of reading these Hours. God bless you.

Thank you lynnfiat. I did order and received 24 copies last year. Gave all of them to other people. We then printed the book from a down load and made it Large Print so I could read it easily. God bless you now and always.

By a fluke. When I got the 24 hours books. I found a person listed in the back of the book who turned out to be an old friend who is very much dedicated to the Divine Will. It is a small world when we are travelling the narrow path. Praised be Jesus and Mary.

Yes, it is a "small world" that we must fill with our Acts so that the Kingdom may come in its fullness on earth as in Heaven. Fiat!

"My daughter, each pain I suffered, each drop of Blood, each wound, prayer, word, action, step, etc., produced a light within my Humanity, which embellished Me in such a way as to keep all the Blessed enraptured. Now, at each thought that the soul has about my Passion, at each act of compassion, reparation, etc., she does nothing other than draw light from my Humanity, and be embellished in my likeness. So, each additional thought about my Passion will be one more light which will bring her eternal joy."

Not only do we through the grace of God produce light in humanity, keep all the blessed enraptured, and become embellished in our Lords likeness but, we follow the First & Second greatest commandments while showing our love and mercy through the spiritual and corporal works of mercy not "just" for our neighbors and friends, but for our Lord directly!

Effects of meditating continuously on the Passion.

Finding myself in my usual state, I was thinking about the Passion of Our Lord; and while I was doing this, He came and told me: "My daughter, one who meditates continuously on my Passion and feels
    sorrow
for it and compassion for Me, pleases Me so much that I feel as though comforted for all that I suffered in the course of my Passion; and by always meditating on it, the soul arrives at preparing a continuous food. In this food there are many different spices and flavors, which form different effects. So, if in the course of my Passion they gave Me ropes and chains to tie Me, the soul releases Me and gives Me freedom. They despised Me, spat on Me, and dishonored Me; she appreciates Me, cleans Me of that spittle, and honors Me. They stripped Me and scourged Me; she heals Me and clothes Me. They crowned Me with thorns, mocking Me as king, embittered my mouth with bile, and
crucified Me; while the soul, meditating on all my pains, crowns Me with glory and honors Me as her
king, fills my mouth with sweetness, giving Me the most delicious food, which is the memory of my own works; and unnailing Me from the Cross, she makes Me rise again in her heart. And every time she does so, I give her a new life of grace as recompense. She is my food, and I become her
    continuous food
. So, the thing that pleases Me the most is meditating continuously on my Passion."

THE 7 SPIRITUAL & 7 CORPORAL WORKS OF MERCY
The Catechism of the Catholic Church, paragraph 2447 reads: The works of mercy are charitable actions by which we come to the aid of our neighbor in his spiritual and bodily necessities.
(Is not our Jesus our friend and neighbor?)
242 Instructing, advising, consoling, comforting are spiritual works of mercy, as are forgiving and bearing wrongs patiently. The corporal works of mercy consist especially in feeding the hungry, sheltering the homeless, clothing the naked, visiting the sick and imprisoned, and burying the dead.243 Among all these, giving alms to the poor is one of the chief witnesses to fraternal charity: it is also a work of justice pleasing to God:244 He who has two coats, let him share with him who has none and he who has food must do likewise.245 But give for alms( giving as an act or virtue) those things which are within; and behold, everything is clean for you.246 If a brother or sister is ill-clad and in lack of daily food, and one of you says to them, "Go in peace, be warmed and filled," without giving them the things needed for the body, what does it profit?

What does thinking, praying and meditating on the passion profit?

    EVERYTHING - ETERNITY - LOVE

    Passages on works of mercy

    247 242 cf. Isaiah 58:6-7; Hebrews 13:3. 243 cf. Matthew 25:31-46. 244 cf. Tobit 4:5-11; Sirach 17:22; Matthew 6:2-4. 245 Luke 3:11. 246 Luke 11:41. 247 James 2:15-16; cf. 1 John 3:17

I've found that praying the 24 hours of the passion has impressed it on my soul. Lately I've been using the rosary as a way to do the "rounds" of the life of Jesus and the Blessed Mother. And in the sorrowful mysteries, what I learned from Luisa's meditations informs my prayers in the Divine Will

Also, every act done in the Divine Will becomes eternal and divine. Imagine what rosaries prayed in the Divine Will must accomplish!!!

  14. One of my friends who introduced me to the DW got all the books and downloaded loads from the net, so much so that she got overwhelmed with it all and gave up on it eventually. I would advise people to take things easy and learn from Our Lady at your and her own pace. I feel one can be so enthusiastic that one can end up reading the hours rather than praying them. I am in my fourth month and have only got as far as praying the 2nd hour.

I am enjoying using the 1 year study guide, except I am splitting it over 2 years, due to other reading.

If you can't access that link, which is an excellent bible study guide, please contact me and I can email it to you. It is too large to upload here.

Agree Border Collie. Read slowly and in your heart converse with God on what you read. Your time may be only 15 minutes or the Spirit may draw you to continue. You will know when you have enough to absorb spiritually to carry you through the day. I have several books and the passion, but I am planning during lent to dwell on the passion of our Lord.
Don't be overwhelmed in the amount of reading. Instead be overwhelmed by His peace and love.

Read at the pace Jesus desires of you. Some people He gives an understanding of His Words so they are able to rip through the books - even to reading them several times within a short period. Others He wants to take their time as perhaps they are not quite disposed to understanding all at once. Whatever way He guides you, it is so that you "chew" His words (this word is from Luisa's writings). He is very pleased with your "desire" of the knowledge however it be - even if it is just a sentence a day! God bless you.

Great point. This is not a devotion, with boxes to check, but a new way of life. Inviting the Divine Will to reign in you means letting go and allowing yourself to be led. For several months, I felt inspired to read about the holy men and women in the old testament, and to learn about God's dealing with His people in the past. And lately I've been taught how to do rounds and pray rosaries in the Divine Will.

Our human will is so sneaky - and the holiest acts done in our own will are worthless, while cleaning out the refrigerator, done in the Will of God, is priceless.

What I've been hearing lately in prayer is, "Stop relying on your own understanding. Seek my Will in everything."

'Mary my mother give me a SIP of the Divine Will for my soul's. That's it a 'sip'. I have done the hours twice in a year and a half. I do the prevenient and actual acts during my day. I try and bring my prayers into the Divine Will. Keep it simple for simple souls.
