Me too HH. Sparing wounded feelings in place of offering prayers for souls who without prayer will die without baptism. I have never understood the shift. Why can’t we pray? are we saying that they have no need of baptism into Christ? Where in scripture does it say that???? Paul was very clear on this subject in his epistles.

Hosts ‘Miraculously’ Preserved 16 Months After Devastating Earthquake
Italian priest who helped make the discovery says it is reminiscent of the Eucharistic miracle of Siena in 1730.
    Edward Pentin

Forty ‘miraculously’ preserved, consecrated hosts have been discovered in a church that was destroyed by a large earthquake in central Italy in 2016.

The hosts, recovered from a tabernacle recently retrieved from the ruins of the parish church of Arquata del Tronto, have no bacteria or mold, as usually happens to hosts after a few weeks, according to the Italian bishops’ newspaper Avvenire.

The tabernacle, which since the earthquake had been kept in storage along with other artifacts and was recently returned to the diocese, contained an upturned but unopened ciborium.

Inside the ciborium were 40 hosts whose color, shape and scent were unchanged. Even though the quake took place nearly a year and a half ago, the hosts “seemed to have been made yesterday,” Avvenire reported Feb. 21.

The local bishop, Mons. Giovanni D'Ercole of Ascoli Piceno, was cautious, saying “faith requires prudence,” but added that such a discovery needs “no words.”

“It is a sign of hope for everyone,” he added. “Confronted with a fact like this, one has to surely remain silent. It simply touches and strengthens faith in Jesus who remains alive to console the earthquake-stricken population of Arquata.”

The 6.6 magnitude earthquake that hit the region on Oct. 30 caused immense damage to Arquata del Tronto and the surrounding area. The basilica in Norcia, the native town of St. Benedict and home to the famous Benedictine Monks of Norcia, was almost totally destroyed. It followed a similarly powerful quake in the region on Aug. 24 of that year which killed almost 300 people.

Don Angelo Ciancotti, a priest in nearby Ascoli who helped make the discovery, said finding the hosts was “a great joy” and gives a “message for the whole community.”

“Yes, for me it is a miracle,” he told the Italian daily Il Resto del Carlino. “Obviously, those who have no faith aren’t able to believe in anything, but never has there been any tampering. The Lord has done this all by Himself.”

Don Ciancotti, who has close family ties to Arquata, knew every missing person in the rubble and all the streets in the region. So together with some residents he sought to recover all the artifacts that could be saved.

He carried out some research to see where objects had been recovered, including those originating from the church — Santa Maria Assunta in Arquata. Later, he learned that the church’s treasures had been stored in a warehouse, so he retrieved them, cleaned them up, and put them in the sacristy of the cathedral in Ascoli.

Seeing that the tabernacle was locked, he remembered he had another key for a draw in his office. “I said, ‘let's try’, and it opened on the first attempt,” he said. But the biggest surprise was to come: ”The ciborium was horizontal, but it hadn’t opened, and inside it the hosts were perfectly intact,” he said.

He said the wafers had been prepared by nuns at the convent of Sant'Onofrio. “I immediately asked them if they used preservatives and they told me: ‘No, just flour and water.’"

Don Ciancotti was the first to be sceptical. “I’m a cousin of [doubting] St. Thomas,” he joked, “and so I had several others witness to it.”

He said he believes the discovery is reminiscent of the Eucharistic miracle of Siena in 1730 when a ciborium with consecrated hosts was stolen but the exact number of hosts miraculously re-appeared in the offering box attached to a prie dieu.

The hosts, which were not consumed, did not deteriorate but remained fresh and even retained a pleasant scent.

  7. Quite an interesting article linked to in Mike Brown's/Spirit Daily's headline today. In Brown's own portion of commentary connected to the link he makes a possible connection to that flaming spear touching the axis of the earth as is given in that portion of what Lucia of Fatima was given:

The Magnetic Field Is Shifting. The Poles May Flip. This Could Get Bad.
The shield that protects the Earth from solar radiation is under attack from within. We can’t prevent it, but we ought to prepare.

    https://undark.org/article/books-alanna-mitchell-spinning-magnet/

And this from earlier message to Luz de Maria possibly relating to above link:

Dear children of My Immaculate Heart, the moment will come when the great cold will come to the tropical countries, and where the cold is habitual, the heat will make the man suffer. (pole shift?)

Do not neglect My Words, Earth is threatened by a Celestial Body and man continues to eat and drink as if nothing were to happen.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    http://blog.spiritdaily.com/news/magnetic-poles-set-to-shift
    ===========================================================

and this from Luz de Maria message, 2/18/18....but yet to be translated (on the whole a poor google translation):

The moon will surprise the man and the sun will generate more radiation and powerful solar flares that, through the solar wind, will interrupt communications, electricity services and all kinds of technology on Earth. But knowing this should not alarm you, but on the contrary, you must be aware of these changes in the sun and in the Universe.

My children from other nations suffer the fury of Nature, they will tell you that the elements do not act as before and that they have lived what Heaven has alerted them.

......You know well by these Calls, that the elements will be altered more, the telluric (terrestrial) movements will be violent and these are raised from one end of the Earth to another extreme, they go hand in hand. The investment of the poles will be of the last events that this generation will live.

  8. No Woman Has Constitutional Right to Abortion, Says West Virginia Senate

Pro-life state Sen. Robert Karnes (R) said it’s hoped the proposed constitutional amendment would help reverse a 1993 Supreme Court decision that mandated West Virginia taxpayers pay for Medicaid-funded abortions.

West Virginia, according to the Guttmacher Institute, is one of 17 states that provide Medicaid-funded abortions, a policy that Karnes argues forces taxpayers to foot the bill for the procedures.

........“We were lambasted by this constitutional amendment, which is incredibly severe,” Chapman Pomponio also said.

West Virginia Free isn’t giving up. The group used its Facebook page to rally the troops who support abortion rights to lobby their senators to defeat SJR 12.

From the other side of the debate, as soon as the Senate gave final approval to the proposal, West Virginians for Life used its Facebook page to rally the pro-life group’s members into a grassroots lobbying campaign for the two-thirds House approval needed to put the constitutional amendment on a public ballot in November.

West Virginia’s SJR 12 proposal is the same as a Tennessee constitutional amendment that reads, “Nothing in this Constitution secures or protects a right to abortion. The people retain the right through their elected state representatives and state senators to enact, amend, or repeal statutes regarding abortion, including, but not limited to, circumstances of pregnancy resulting from rape or incest or when necessary to save the life of the mother.”

Black Mirror in Action: Swedish Scientists to Revive the Dead in Robots with AI

The Swedes appear to have embarked on an audacious project resembling something from an episode of the sci-fi series Black Mirror; they intend to make fully conscious copies of the dead in a bid to offer digital immortality.

A number of Swedish scientists are researching how to produce digital copies of those who have already passed away. Dagen daily has reported they are also planning to set about making robots which would resemble the deceased.

To this end, the Swedish funeral agency Phoenix is currently looking for volunteers who would give the green light to scientists to replicate the images of their deceased relatives.

As much as I like Youtube's Catholic content I am about ready to stop frequenting their site completely. It's just not worth supporting them with ad revenue anymore when I can usually find the same video's on the creators sites.

Judge cites Pope Francis to justify ending baby’s life against parents’ wishes
Alfie Evans , Catholic , Pope Francis

February 23, 2018 (LifeSiteNews) – A judge in Britain justified his decision to remove a baby from a ventilator, against the wishes of his Catholic parents, by citing a recent controversial address given by Pope Francis.

The parents of Alfie Evans, a 21-month-old baby with a mysterious illness, received a devastating blow from a high court on February 20 as Justice Anthony Hayden ruled that the baby’s ventilator is to be turned off.

Kate James, 20, and Tom Evans, 21, have been battling Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool since June 2017. After being admitted to the hospital in December 2016, baby Alfie’s condition began to decline and the hospital began to pressure the parents to remove their baby from life support.

In his written decision, Judge Hayden acknowledged the Catholic faith professed by Alfie’s parents, saying “it is important that these beliefs are considered within the broad gamut of relevant factors” in relation to Alfie’s “best interests.”

Judge Hayden then proceeded to cite Pope Francis’ November 2017 open letter to the Pontifical Academy for Life as a justification for the forced removal of Alfie’s life support. He said:

The position of the Roman Catholic Church is sometimes characterized inaccurately in cases concerning these difficult ethical issues. Mr Mylonas’s document is an open letter, by His Holiness Pope Francis to the President of the Pontifical Academy for Life, dated November 2017. In his message Pope Francis called for “greater wisdom” in striking a balance between medical efforts to prolong life and the responsible decision to withhold treatment when death becomes inevitable. His letter identifies that not adopting or suspending disproportionate measures can avoid over-zealous treatment. I would not presume to add any gloss to the following extracts...

Anyone believe the nonsense that Cardinal Tobin Newark spouted about this tweet he sent?

He alleges it was directed to his sister. Sure son...It was straight to your boyfriend.

At Japan’s suicide cliffs, he's walked more than 600 people back from the edge
Jonathan Kaiman Los Angeles Times February 22, 2018 http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/ct-japan-suicide-cliffs-20180222-story,amp.html
    [IMG]
"These people are asking for help. They’re just waiting for someone to speak with them,” says Yukio Shige, who patrols and uses binoculars to find people preparing to commit suicide on Japan's Tojinbo cliffs. (Jonathan Kaiman / Los Angeles Times)

Almost no one jumps on rainy days.

They jump when the sun returns and the masses step outside, reminding them of their misery. They jump during financial crises and in the early spring, when Japanese schools open and the pressures of life converge.

Yukio Shige’s routine, though, is the same regardless of the weather.

Nearly every day, he clambers across the high basalt columns of the Tojinbo cliffs, the Sea of Japan thrashing 80 feet below. He peers into binoculars, seeking hunched figures on distant rocks, ready to talk them down.

In 15 years, he’s walked 609 people back from the edge.

“The way I save people, it's like I’m seeing a friend,” said Shige, 73, a retired policeman with a floppy fishing hat and a gentle demeanor. “It's not exciting or anything. I’m like, ‘Hey, how are you doing?’ These people are asking for help. They’re just waiting for someone to speak with them.”

Japan’s suicide rate is among the highest in the developed world. In 2016, there were 17.3 suicides for every 100,000 people, second only to South Korea among major industrialized nations (the U.S. figure is 13.5). As in most places, the majority of victims are men. The most common method is hanging, unlike in the U.S., where it is firearms. Among people age 15 to 39 in Japan, suicide is the leading cause of death — claiming more lives than cancer and accidents combined.

Those statistics are a marked improvement, thanks to a strengthening economy and prevention efforts by the government. About 22,000 people killed themselves in Japan in 2016, the lowest number in 22 years, down from about 33,000 a year in the late 1990s following an economic crash.

Outside of Japan, media depictions of suicide in the country frequently involve concepts of honor and disgrace, from 12th century samurai who committed seppuku — a ritualized form of self-disembowelment — to World War II kamikaze pilots who deliberately crashed into Allied ships.

Yet in modern Japanese life, it’s largely viewed in less romanticized terms: a public health crisis driven by widespread depression, family problems, unemployment and pressure at work and school. Tokyo introduced a basic law for suicide countermeasures in 2007, and broadened that law with new, more holistic guidelines a decade later.

The Japanese government is “dealing with suicide on a legal, social and cultural level,” said Yutaka Motohashi, a professor and suicide researcher at the Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine.

He said that officials, rather than simply pumping money into researching depression, are attempting to address suicide’s underlying causes. They’re opening suicide hotlines, improving access to counseling, monitoring websites that might promote suicide cults, and tweaking employment laws in a drive to reduce the number of working hours per week.

Although most suicides in Japan take place at home, some occur in “suicide hot spots” — bridges, cliffs, gorges, skyscrapers. Experts say Japan has 50 of them, including the Aokigahara forest, the infamous “Sea of Trees” at the base of Mt. Fuji.

In January, YouTube star Logan Paul sparked a public backlash when he posted a video in which he discovers a body hanging in the forest and laughs. Paul has since apologized.

Another popular spot is the Tojinbo cliffs, about 200 miles west of Tokyo. Legend has it they’re named after a licentious monk who died when a rival in courtship pushed him off the precipice. They stretch on for more than half a mile, their wave-eroded crags reaching like bony fingers into the sea.

Shige worked as a police officer for 42 years, and at Tojinbo, his final posting, he frequently had to remove corpses from the waves. In 2003, he spotted an elderly couple on a bench and approached them. They said they owned a bar in Tokyo and were deeply in debt; they planned to jump at sunset.

Shige called his colleagues, who took them to the local welfare bureau. But the police then sent the couple away, and five days later, they hanged themselves in Niigata, a neighboring prefecture.

Shaken, Shige set up a nonprofit to patrol the cliffs. He now has about 20 volunteers, who keep nearly constant watch during daylight hours. “The reason we patrol as individuals is, if you do it in pairs, the person feels suspicious and hides away,” he said. “People feel safer if it's a one-on-one conversation.”

Shige recently acquired a drone, which can surveil the cliffs at great speed.

He can’t talk everyone down. Last year, 10 people killed themselves on the cliffs; in 2016, it was 14, and in 2015, it was 12.

Leaving the cliffs one day, Shige noticed a black bag on the ground and feared he had arrived there too late. He approached it carefully and unzipped it, looking for a message, or an heirloom, or personal belongings.

"Maybe it was a bag that someone wanted to leave,” he said.

But the bag, inexplicably, was full of sand. He sighed in relief and walked on.

Fences, nets and other barriers have stopped potential jumpers at suicide hot spots in the West, such as the Prince Edward Viaduct in Canada. Shige has pushed for similar protections, but officials have rejected the idea at Tojinbo, saying they’d hurt tourism. Authorities have, however, installed outdoor lighting to dissuade jumpers after dark.

The jumpers, Shige said, represent a cross-section of Japan’s most vulnerable demographics: the homeless, the elderly, schoolchildren under academic duress. They take the train to Fukui prefecture, then a bus to the cliffs. They carry very little cash — “because if you're going to heaven, you don't need money,” he said. They sit alone for hours along the precipice, until the sun falls and the crowds dwindle.

As he described a typical case, it became clear that the smallest details have stayed with him. Last Aug. 31, at 6:20 p.m., Shige noticed a 17-year-old girl sitting on the edge of the cliff, lost in contemplation. Shige brought her to his headquarters, a small office nearby, and engaged her in conversation. Her parents were pressuring her to succeed, she told him, and she felt inadequate.

“School started yesterday, and I didn't do my homework, so I was embarrassed,” he said she told him. So instead of going to school that morning, she took a train and a bus to the cliffs — a two-hour trip from her home in Shiga prefecture.

She was the 23rd of 28 people he saved in 2017.

Shige called her parents, who came to pick her up. “We asked, ‘Which is more important, her life or graduation?’ And we handed her over.”
