There was a troubling incident occurred in France yesterday. There is a country area in the North of France called the Vendee which is very rural can Catholic. During the French Revolution Catholics there rose up to support the Church and were brutally put down. It may be a real sign that these out of control civil unrest will turn against Catholics and the Church in the Great Persecution. https://www.facebook.com/6156427861...ic-community-in-western-fra/2010048583287329/
Yes. I saw this. The Vendee is in a sense the heart of Catholic France heavily influenced by St Louis de Montfort. I do believe the burning of Notre Dame was a huge shot across the bow. A" kick off" so to speak. That God permitted it tells us just how deep into the chastisements we are.
A few days ago, I read a medieval prophecy attributed to an Orthodox Christian seer named Agathangelos, which foretells Rome’s tragic fate, identifying it with Great Babylon because of its departure from the faith, as well as its future restoration and reconciliation with the East. In general, these Orthodox prophecies are marked by resentment toward Catholics and are often infused with certain forms of nationalism. Nevertheless, I wonder whether some of their language might acquire a precise meaning in light of Rome’s apostasy at the End of Times.
A PROPHECY FROM AGATHAGHELOS (1279 AD) ON THE FATE OF ROME Agathanghelos was an Orthodox Christian seer who had an incredible vision in the year 1279 AD. His prophecy also identifies Rome as Babylon and prophesies her impending destruction (and eventual restoration and glory). “O vain city! Rome, you have been painted in human blood; your kings shed torrents of blood through the martyrdom of the just, and Christ’s believers ran like herds to become victims in the slaughter house. Where is your devoutness now? Where is your zeal? God has abandoned you, Christ rejects you, and the Devil shall conquer you; he is arrogant as you are, and a liar. You have become his conquest, daughter and concubine. For that reason, O lewd woman, you will utterly make a prostitute of yourself, and the East will humble you and you will be her captive and subdued to her, O infernal monster. Your royal purple shall be torn asunder by them, and the tiara shall be rejected under their feet. Because you have hidden Truth the eternal, and have colored it in falsehood. You have despised my Sanctity that I founded in the East, you have turned to the wineshop of perdition and to the robbers’ den, you have inserted novelties in man’s Faith and made my Church bankrupt. Yes, a stone upon a stone shall not remain in your walls, and you shall be as desolate as the holy town of David.. The East will shine at you, and you shall be tested through fire and (thus) be a corner stone. She (the East) will humble your arrogant neck. Most deeply doing homage, you shall go to worship (the genuine Faith) together with the conqueror of my Sanctuary in Byzantium, amen. amen. A link of hard iron will go through the tiny isthmus of your nostrils, and your unholy lip will drop disastrous poison. You, viper…hydra with seven heads, Babylonian tower, the Eternal Being shall defeat and evict you and put you to death”. https://byzantineprophecy.com/2021/01/20/two-prophecies-on-the-future-fate-of-rome/
I’m coming to think that the biblical references to Babylon could refer to the evils and paganism of this pre-Christian city, most particularly because of the protocol-Talmudic beliefs that the exiled Jews brought back from there. I’d be reluctant to give credence to any criticism of Rome from the Orthodox or the Protestants.
Personally, I believe these prophecies refer to the apostate Rome of the End Times. There is an implicit prophecy in the Exorcism of St. Michael the Archangel, mystically inspired during the pontificate of Leo XIII, which portrays Rome as the center of apostasy at some point in the future. This perspective seems consistent with the supposedly suppressed message of the Third Secret of Fatima. I believe that many Orthodox Christians had a prophetic glimpse of the genuine restoration that God will bring about in Rome. However, they were mistaken in identifying the beginning of the process of spiritual degeneration that will lead to the fall of the Eternal City. God allowed Jerusalem to be destroyed because of the apostasy of the Jews, even though the city had been the Church's first universal see. In the same way, I believe that God will allow Rome to be punished, even if the faithful remnant still dwells within it.
“Very cunning enemies have laid their unholy hands upon all that the Church, the bride of the Lamb, holds most dear, and they have drenched her with bitterness. In the place where the Seat of the blessed Peter and the Chair of Truth was established for the light of the nations, they have set up the throne of abomination, of their impiety; so that by striking the shepherd, they may scatter the flock. Be present, therefore, O Michael the Archangel, invincible leader of the people of God, against the spiritual wickednesses which assail them and bring them victory! You whom the Holy Church venerates as her guardian and protector. You whom the Church glories in having as her defender against the criminal powers of the earth and of hell.” https://insidethevatican.com/news/newsflash/letter-37-2024-sun-oct-13-st-michael-prayer/
I think the big theme in Our Spiritual Life is to trust in God. Reading the psalms at the minute is a great consolation, they are all about trusting in God.
Tibet has just had a 7.0 earthquake. Does that seem like an unusual location? Certainly farcfrom the Ring of Fire around the Pacific ocean.
It is not all bad news. I was praying to Our Lady a couple of weeks ago and I believe something very good will happen soon. Something to look forward to. I don't know what it is but I think it will cheer us all up. Very much so.
