SAINT PADRE PIO'S BELIEF IN GARABANDAL : Joey Lomangino’s recall of the when he talked to Padre Pio: “We made arrangements to come back again that same day and greeted Padre Pio in the cloister. When we knelt down, we said to him, “Padre Pio, is it true that the Virgin is appearing to the four girls of Garabandal?” And he said, “Yes.” We said, “Padre Pio, should we go there? He said, “Yes, why not?” And that’s how it happened. Because I received the assurance from Padre Pio that the Virgin was appearing and that he permitted me to go, then I wasn’t afraid and I went. “ Saint (Padre) Pio affirms Garabandal to a PH.D in confession. Joachim Bouflet,PH.D. went to Padre Pio for confession in July of 1968. Padre Pio told him "Pray to the Madonna. Consecrate yourself to the Virgin of Carmel." "Yes, Padre, I pray to Our Lady of Mount Carmel. For that matter, I would like to become a Carmelite." He didn't comment on this but repeated with insistence, "Consecrate yourself to the Virgin of Carmel who appeared at Garabandal." Bouflet:"So it's true?" Padre Pio : "Certo e vero!" ("Yes, it's true!") “While he was living, the same Padre Pio guaranteed the authenticity of the apparitions of the Blessed Virgin. He met Conchita at San Giovanni Rotondo. Even during the last days of his life he talked about this to his brothers in religious life and left a personal message for the principle personage of the apparitions. “ Fr. Pelletier -“Our Lady comes to Garabandal” page 219 From the book “The Final Hour “ page 141 On the topic of Padre Pio ‘s belief in Garabandal: “Asked on another occasion about its authenticity, he answered curtly, ”How many times must she appear there to be believed ? “ From the book “Thunder of Justice “ page 163 : An incident which confirms Padre Pio’s belief in Garabandal occurred early in 1966. Conchita, who was only 16 years old, was visiting Rome with her mother and Fr. Luna. She had been invited by Cardinal Ottaviani, Prefect of the Sacred Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith. During the visit, Conchita met privately with Padre Pio. On this occasion, he took Conchita’s hand and her crucifix that Our Lady had kissed in Garabandal and held them both in his own two hands. The crucifix had passed through the hands of the child Jesus, during the apparition of November 13,1965. Upon Padre Pio’s death in 1968 ,his close friend Father Bernardino Cennamo,was instructed to give Conchita several of his personal items. The priest gave Conchita one of the three veils that covered Padre Pio's face during his wake, saying that the stigmatist had requested this before he died. Conchita also was given Padre Pio's rosary, and one of the gloves he wore, stained by his stigmata. Conchita recounts: “I had the veil in front of me, as I was writing later that evening. When suddenly the whole room became filled with fragrance, the perfume so strong I started to cry.” March 3, 1962 ( Padre Pio wrote the girls a letter, this is the last sentence ) “ I would advise you to pray and make others pray because the world is on the road to perdition. They don’t believe in you or your conversations with the Lady in White now, but they will believe when it is too late.”
THE 3 DAYS OF DARKNESS:NOT FROM PADRE PIO ! I want to address this topic as it comes up quite a bit. First of all, the term "3 Days of Darkness" was NEVER used at Garabandal. Now the concept of that event does closely resemble " The Chastisement" mentioned at Garabandal, although the details of that event are very limited, the girls reaction to seeing it, certainly matches the horror I have read about from other visionaries who have seen it. Now, in one of my internet interviews in 2014, I was in the process of investigating Padre Pio's involvement in this supposed letter, and made some comments about his writings, but unfortunately I did not find out the truth until afterwards. He did not write about the 3 Days . I have several sources. I received this email from The Padre Pio Center for North America:"Dear "Doubting" Thomas ,I applaud your diligence in seeking truth. The prophecy of the "Three Days of Darkness" is correctly attributed to the late mystic, Blessed Anna Maria Taigi.Back in 1960, was the first time that this rumor, associating the prophecy with Padre Pio began in which it was brought to the attention of Church authorities who turned it over to the Capuchin Order for reply.Father Clement Neubauer O.F.M. Cap., Superior General of the Capuchin Order, speaking on behalf of the Order and specifically for Padre Pio labeled the prophecies attributed to Padre Pio as forgeries.Later in 1977, Volume XII, number 2 of the Voice of Padre Pio magazine, the official publication of the Cause for Postulazaione (Beatification and Canonization) of Padre Pio, clearly printed that on several occasions Padre Pio answered with a resounding "NO" to those who questioned him about whether he made the prophecy of the Three Days of Darkness. Thank you for seeking the truth. Perhaps you may wish to learn more of the life of Blessed Anna Maria Taigi; very interesting life. Her incorrupt body is in the Church of San Crisogono in Trastevere Section of Rome, if ever you travel to Italy.” According to James J. Drummey in "Catholic Answers 2": Padre Pio's name was connected with this prophecy in the late 1940s by the Council of Heroldsbach, a group in Germany that was formed after some children claimed that the Blessed Mother had appeared to them. The Council composed a letter about the three days of darkness and forged Padre Pio's name to it. The letter was declared a forgery in 1950 by Padre Pio's superior in San Giovanni Rotondo. In 1951, the Vatican's Holy Office, without mentioning Padre Pio by name, stated that the alleged appearances of the Blessed Virgin in Heroldsbach were not supernatural... Padre Pio Did Not Predict Three Days of Darkness ". . . There are printed materials containing prophecy of three days of darkness which attribute such a prophecy to Padre Pio. But the author [i.e. Birch] has in his possession sworn documents from the Capuchin Order stating that no such prophecy ever emanated [sic] from Padre Pio. All the author's attempts to track down an authentic source from Padre Pio , have led to the conclusion that; [sic] some person(s) either accidentally or willfully created these attributions of such a prophecy to Padre Pio" (Trial,Tribulation, & Triumph, p. 283).
The "Three Days of Darkness" attributed to the late mystic, Blessed Anna Maria Taigi, and is not specifically mentioned at Garabandal,but it sounds very similar to what the visionaries called " The Chastisement ". Well it is difficult to compare the prophecy of the "Three Days of Darkness" attributed to the late mystic, Blessed Anna Maria Taigi, and how the Chastisement is similar mentioned at Garabandal. The term "3 days" was not used in Garabandal. The reason it is difficult is because we have only one descriptive statement from Conchita as to one aspect of the event, where as Blessed Anna's is more detailed and descriptive. They do same one common theme of “ FIRE”. Here is Conchita's statement on what the Blessed Mother allowed her to say about the "Chastisement" : “The Chastisement is conditional and depends on whether or not mankind heeds the messages of the Blessed Virgin and the Miracle. If it should take place, I know what it will consist of, because the Blessed Virgin told me about it, but I am not permitted to say what it is. Moreover, I have seen the Chastisement. I can assure you that if it comes, it will be worse than being enveloped in fire, worse than having fire above and beneath you. I do not know how much time will elapse between the Miracle and the Chastisement.“ "The wind will howl and roar. Lightning and thunderbolts of an unprecedented magnitude will strike the earth. The whole earth will shake, heavenly bodies will be disturbed (this will be the beginning of the Three Days). Every Demon, every evil spirit will be released from hell and allowed to roam the earth. Terrifying apparitions will take place. Many will die from sheer fright. Fire will rain forth from the sky, all large cities will be destroyed, poisonous gases will fill the air, cries and lamentations everywhere. The unbelievers will burn in the open like withered grass. The entire earth will be afflicted; it will look like a huge graveyard.
And may I Add Yes Yes and Yes. On one of Joeys group trips to Garabandal-my first one in 1989-we went to Rome and visited the church where Bkessed Anna Mare Taigi lays instate-incorrupt. The only time in my life I’ve ever seen this in person. The wonder of it “blew me away.” A miracle right before my eyes! Wow! I thought My goodness-Anyone who doubts the existence of God can no longer have any doubts. Just come here and look at this. Only God can allow/perform this. Amen. So true Re St Padre Pio not phropesizing the 3 Days Of Darkness. It was definitely Blessed Anna Marie Taigi. She died-1837-50 years before St Padre Pio was Born-1887. Fascinating topic. Not that I want to be around for it at all-I prefer to be with Jesus in Heaven if the chastisement happens-but while I know and second your statement that the “Three Days Of Darkness” was NEVER mentioned at Garbandal-It wasn’t- I and many believe the Chastisemet and the “Three Days Of Darkness” are the same event. But again, I really don’t want to be around for it or if I’m wrong, either of those events should they not be the same. Our Lady Of Mount Carmel, de Garabandal, pray for me/us! Amen!

My understanding from readings from various sources, they are the same event. Whoo, such an image! Let's not forget to bless our homes as well as religious items within it and the religious items we wear. I know religious items should be blessed by a Priest but don't know about our homes. I personally blessed my new apartment with Holy Water while saying a blessing the day I moved in (not that I plan to stay there for years

Absolutely, bear in mind the timeline. My more immediate focus is the Warning and all that implies followed by the Miracle and Permanent Sign. I keep wondering though if those latter two are one in the same thing. I have not recently come across that clarification. Also, if both parents are still living, will I have time to urge my Dad to take Mom to Garabandal or ?Fatima? Yes, a little reading up or videos to catch up on...is called for. :} I have recently given him a bit of "light reading" a.k.a. quick reference as a reminder. He doesn't make comment but he is a big researcher. He also shares material he finds for my unrelated research. I know he is at least modestly open to these events. If I could forward videos, he would watch them.
Well the Miracle will be live and last 10-15 min. The permanent sign will be like a rainbow in nature. Or like smoke. Not physically those things but like them in that you can see it and photograph it. But not feel it by touching it. It will prove what happened there and the sign will remain there until the end of tme.! Peace.
These are two seperate signs,the permanent one obvious immediate follows the "Miracle "sign. And to clarify no reason to go to Fatima, no promise of healing or a sign there on that day.
Thanks exactly what I thought, two very different things but I believe occurring at the same place & same day. Isn't the Miracle, a mass healing of all present from anything and everything holistically? Does it involve anything else?
On the day of the Miracle Our Blessed Mother said : “All those present who are sick will be cured.” She didn’t say some of the sick or all of the sick. She just said “the sick.” Peace!
I have a strong sense that these 3 events will be within my lifetime. How many will want to travel overseas to be present, but cannot?! Perhaps present via live TV...?
It will be possible to film and photograph. After the Warning , as long as there is some time between the Warning and Miracle (we know it will NOT be longer than 1 year between the two events) the world won’t know what just hit it. The Media will be all over it so to speak. Of course us Garabandalists will know what happened. The Warning will “change the conscience of the world.” God willing I hope to be there. Been there 3X. But that is totally up to God. Peace!
You can bless your home and should. Monthly, even weekly sometimes. Best to have a priest do it at some point. It that is not always easy.
